Mesmerizing seems to be the common praise associated with JAIMI PAIGE and it’s absolutely merited. Certainly on stage, she’s cited as an innately charming ingénue who has caught the eye every so often, most recently in the play “Sleeping Ugly”. JAIMI has both the pin-up beauty and sweet innocence to garner ardor from a cross section of viewers. When it comes to approaching a role, she strives to find her own truth in fleshing out a character. On “The Mentalist”, she played Charlotte Mitchell, an unfortunate journalist who was gunned down when she threatens to expose a MMA trainer. She’s also appeared in “Ghost Whisperer: The Other Side”, the online companion series to CBS hit Ghost Whisperer which she received great reviews.
Watch out for her in the festival circuit too with her sci-fi short “The Last King Blood” being the official selection at numerous film fests. The story centers on a research team who lands on a planet and discovers something unforeseen. When you look into those fascinating green eyes of hers, she’ll spark interest with ease, such is the beguilement JAIMI can produce. It’s clear we can’t wait to admire her future projects…:)
Ever so often, we give plaudits to the rising talents of Canada and the charming JODIE DOWDALL is a svelte brunette everyone should know about. Having recently heard how nice fellow Canadian Emily VanCamp, star of TV series “Revenge” is on set (one of her co-stars vouches that she is extremely down to earth and as lovely in personality as she is on screen), you’ll find those same qualities in JODIE. She did warmed many a heart as social worker Nancy in the Hallmark Original “The Santa Suit”. As the love interest of Kevin Sorbo’s greedy CEO turned Santa Claus in this tender drama, JODIE lines herself up as a would-be apple of one’s eye with ease. It’s agreeable that this actress/model is an ample delight, the honesty of her acting markedly enjoyable.
Her other credits include appearances in “Queer as Folk”, “Earth Final Conflict” and “The Newsroom”. She’s also the leading lady in the ultra-violent “Dead Dreams” which has been labeled as gross because of its unnerving tooth extraction scenes. Heading into much more disturbing territory, JODIE’s journey as a murder victim sees her amnesiac husband trying to piece together the horrific event. There’s elements of Memento and Groundhog Day, as slowly but surely the pieces fall into place. Once more JODIE plays a pivotal role and she’s a big part of the thriller’s focus on its mysterious events. With her shining in both lighter and darker fare, JODIE’s days as a budding starlet is already in motion.
For me, the immensely luscious lips of MELANIE CRUZ is instantaneously striking and we’ve already been treated to her beauty on television more than once. Having scored a guest-starring role in the pilot of “American Horror Story”, widely expected to be hauntingly impressive when it premieres, the prominently fetching MELANIE should be capturing hearts soon enough. You may have spotted her on hit shows “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” and “House” on both occasions playing a doctor. In the final season of “Big Love”, she was Bishop Benedict, the voice of reason trying to convince the disenchanted Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn) to switch churches albeit unsuccessfully. It’s an eye-opener to watch MELANIE comfortably depicting an understanding authority of religion as the bastion of male dominance is slowly extinguished, making way for feminine presence. Her expressive blue eyes are suited for such an influential figure and they’re pretty ravishing in the photos I’ve seen. Actually, she was ever so kind to send some to me…:)
Start visiting the MELANIE CRUZ OFFICIAL SITE as she has a host of video clips for our viewing pleasure. She’s also known for producing and starring in the music video ‘Built Like Botticelli‘, a slyly humorous look at the woes of online dating. In the works for her is the thriller “In Medias Reas”, the theological study of Heaven and Hell where she’s the guardian of the Pearly Gates (an angel perhaps). Once more we get to see her in an emotive role, one of celestial melancholy. Well, MELANIE does have a heavenly face and an essentially charming vivaciousness to go along with it…More reasons to watch her shine!
Ethereal gracefulness encircles the lovely BREA BEE, very becoming of an earthly fairy with her pure milky skin illuminating from every angle. Her divine cheekbones are both fashionable and enthralling, a testament to how effortlessly BREA can amplify glamor to her collection of modeling shots. Quickly becoming a fixture on the indie scene, BREA can be seen in the early minutes of heartwarming dramas “The Best And The Brightest” and “Lebanon,PA”. She’s also so kindly informed me that she’s appearing in a national Comcast commercial this Fall and is slated to star in Robert Masciantonio’s feature film “Fairyland” shooting in December 2011. It’s unfortunate that the intriguing web series BLEEDERS was canned as BREA is hauntingly stirring as one of four female vampires bringing a hemophiliac into their fold. It’s positively gratifying to see women being the centerpiece of a vampire flick; Maybe they should have done that with the under performing “Fright Night” reboot! Her vamp with the heart of gold parallels her genial personality in real life, yet another one of BREE’s many pleasing traits.
There’s no better time than the present to check out the BREA BREE OFFICIAL SITE and be supportive of this gorgeous, emerging talent. Her foundations as a performer are more than sound, initially performing at prestigious theater productions and now expanding into the every realm of entertainment. She does capture the emotive elements of her characters at a level that’s filled with vibrant captivation. Sweet as honey, many more come to appreciate the sublimely charming Miss BEE.
I relish featuring actresses such as LEE BENTON who deserves mention even if viewers are not instantly familiar with her. The legendary Katherine Hepburn once remarked that men do have different tastes when it comes to appreciating the Women of Film/TV and while I may be somewhat partial to blondes, Miss LEE has secured my attention by being so charming. The re-emergence of Ellen Barkin and Rebecca De Mornay (she was brilliant in “Mother’s Days) points to their indefatigable persistence and demonstrates that mature actresses continue to be highly fancied. LEE herself has comparably resplendent qualities and upholds the standpoint that we do covet older women onscreen. With her lustrous porcelain-skin and having glimpsed her photos from the premiere of her latest movie “DeWitt & Maria”, she’s the embodiment of photogenic allure (she is after all a former model). In this romance, she plays a woman who tries to matchmake her son but ends up having her own heart stolen…now who wouldn’t want to fall in love with LEE…:) Best known for her work on television, she starred alongside Stacy Keach in the “Mike Hammer” series and appeared in a recurring role on the long running soap “The Bold and the Beautiful”.
The recent indie horror “Legion: The Final Exorcism” sees LEE as a distraught mother who seeks a priest after her daughter is unknowingly touched by the Devil. Opting for the low-budget atmospheric creepiness similar to circa 1980s “The Evil Dead” (the first half at least) , there’s a pronounced creepiness as the film progresses to its inevitable exorcism conclusion. It’s observable that she mastered the emotional aspects of the arduous role. Having the Actress Obsession Blog reached the remarkable milestone of 300,000+ Views, I’ll always be indebted to the amazing ladies I’ve spotlighted whom I also call friends. The extent of LEE’s captivating merits does allude to the need for us to be in praise of older women.
Meeting a Femme Fatale Starlet in the flesh has to be chalked up as one of the greatest moments in the ebb and flow of life. Actress Jules Hartley visited Singapore (she’s here for 5 days) and besides taking her sight-seeing, I got to hang out with her at my home…how cool is that! I’m awe-strucked by her beauty and also the warmth she has for people as well as animals. We chatted about her racy stint on “Femme Fatales” and her experiences being in Asia yet there’s two things that is exceptional about her. As a person, she genuinely cares about local culture, something that is diminishing in our world today due to globalisation. As a performer, she has only kind words for her peers and stresses how grateful she is to be a working actress. That’s the measure Of A Woman in this case the enthralling Miss JULES HARTLEY…:) Coincidentally, she was the leading lady in the drama “The Measure Of A Man”, her most emotional role to date as Lizzy, the daughter at her father’s death bed who reminisces how special her dad has been in her life. A standout tearjerker all the more poignant thanks to a touchingly tender performance by JULES.
While she does look like an enticing mix of Heather Graham (you have to see the pic of her as Roller Girl) and Mischa Barton, JULES has a vulnerability on screen that parallels that of Jennifer Jason Leigh. On “Americas Most Wanted” she played a 19-year old runaway turning tricks for a pimp, showcasing her range as a damaged teen searching for a way out of her predicament. Of course if you’ve seen her in the episode ‘Help Me Rhonda’ of “Femme Fatales”, she’s all edgy titillation, the dark red lipstick accentuating her manipulative gangster moll persona. After all, her character is called Molly Trevor, full of sauciness especially the scene of her cavorting with her very much married paramour…Scandalous! Be sure to check out the JULES HARTLEY OFFICIAL SITE where she is praised for both her engaging acting and melodious singing.
Jules has also modeled for top fashion brands such as Kate Spade, Prada and Ralph Lauren. On top of wowing audiences on stage, she recently started the charming web series “Forbidden Fruit Kitchen”, a cooking show using the freshest sometimes exotic food. During her current trip around the world, JULES has been researching the unique local fare of the countries she visited and I was glad to show her around town discovering unique delicacies. She’s a major reason why I have such passion for blondes, her pleasantness overflowing, her delicate allure more than exquisite. What more can one ask for when not only did I get two autographs specially signed by JULES, she gave me an adoring kiss. She may be taking a hiatus from acting endeavors but she’s truly unforgettable in every way…:) I cherished the enjoyable time I spent with such a kind, soulful gal and here’s hoping I’ll get to meet her once more, this side or the other.
When talking about Impact Performers, there’s one lady generating tremendous buzz, so much so her name was ranked #2 on IMDB’s Starmeter only a few weeks ago. I’m referring to the delectable JENN GOTZON who also captured the #1 spot above Natalie Portman in a ranking of top actresses based on search results of her name. As we know, popularity on the IMDB site can be fleeting but it is a wonderful achievement for JENN who industry insiders compare her onscreen presence as on par to a young Meryl Streep. JENN most certainly has that endearing likability that befits a blossoming star in the making. If you’ve already a fan of hers on Facebook, you already know JENN is appealingly sweet even commenting how cool it was that I was featuring her here. For an actress of her stature to interact with fans is invaluable..isn’t it any wonder my huge affection for blondes keeps increasing exponentially…:) This week alone, two trailers of her upcoming films were released which will exhibit her divine loveliness and charming versatility. On the strength of her upcoming feature “Doonby”, JENN GOTZON is at her sassy best as a worldly daughter of a wealthy doctor who becomes weary of life’s trappings until an enigmatic drifter brightens it up. The mysterious man in question is played by John Schneider of Smallville fame and his gruff yet laid-back exterior kind of reminds me of Michael Landon from the TV series “Highway To Heaven”. I can’t wait for the sparks to fly between JENN’s delightful character Laura Reaper and John’s Sam Doonby, the outsider seeing how the two of them have boundless chemistry!
She’s primed to leave you smitten in a host of features such as the French/Indian war drama “Alone Yet Not Alone” and an intriguing cyber-war thriller “Dragon Day”. Be sure to keep up with her latest exploits at the very informative JENN GOTZON OFFICIAL SITE. Stirring turns in “Frost/Nixon” and “Stained” launched her as a sought-after screen siren and her consistent ability to bring out the emotional depth in complex roles is quickly becoming a crowd-pleaser. With no-less than 30 indie films under her belt, she’s living the dream and is encouraging others to do the same via her motivational mentor-outreach program, “Inspiring Audiences”. She’s the irrefutable sparkle in our lives, elevating movie-watching into an absorbing medium which everyone can relish with gusto.
Frightmare has indeed invaded Texas and although it’s Canadian visionary, Jason Eisner, the director of “Hobo With A Shotgun” taking center stage, featuring the film’s leading lady MOLLY DUNSWORTH right here is just as fascinating. I was rooting for her prostitute character Abby throughout the violent allegory of hopelessness that is “Hobo With A Shotgun” where evil reign supreme until one homeless vigilante had the balls to fight back. It’s great to see two redeeming figures played by Rutger Hauer (Hobo) and MOLLY DUNSWORTH (Abby) in the face of all the brutality by way of ice skates, shotgun and baseball bats, carnage not limited to exploding heads! Only now do I know that sick psychos look strangely like Tom Cruise on meth! Although seeing the dazzling Molly posing with those armored heavies of The Plague (above) has me hoping for a sequel…:) Molly is super appealing so you can understand why any man would want to be her knight in shining armor or in this case a vagrant with a serious case of pump gun madness! From almost being killed several times to having her hand mutilated to the bone and even in the quieter, reflective moments, Molly is a sight to behold and when it comes to the final act, vigorously empowering her transformation into an action heroine.
Thanks to the rise of homages to exploitation flicks that reached notoriety with Death Proof/Planet Terror, we get to discover future stars and Molly has already made her mark in only her first starring role…WOW! On TV, Fans of the supernatural series “Haven” will know that she was Vickie, a young lady with a gift or should I say ‘Curse’ to maim people with her drawings in the episode ‘Sketchy’. Fervor and adoration will pour in for MOLLY DUNSWORTH as we become acquainted with this charming Canadian starlet. London, Ontario residents will get to see her in the flesh at the horror/exploitation festival Shock Stock.
