It may always be sunny in Philadelphia but every so often, it gets scorching hot especially when we’re treated to the heavenliness of NIKKI BELL. No doubt many do miss her foxy moves from her time as a Philly Eagles cheerleader yet when she decided to be the beacon of captivation as an actress, the fondness for this honey quickly prospered. I have to say femmes of Horror have that magical hold on us and Scream Queen in waiting NIKKI is no exception. From every angle, her comely attractiveness never fails to hypnotize as does her sunny nature that complements her beauty every which way. She does possess ‘Blonde Power’(affectionately coined by NIKKI herself) which is of significance seeing how we continue to have our visual palates enthralled by golden-haired maidens onscreen. With the news filtering in that the horror flick “Down The Road” has won Best Feature at Shockfest, there’ll be a slew of attention on NIKKI as she’s one of the film’s starlets. Keep in mind, her upcoming turns in a pair of terrifying features will thrust her into the spotlight and lead to her being gushed over even more.
Currently in production for “Hallows Eve” with Danielle Harris and Human Centipede Hottie Ashley C. Williams, this is a promising slasher with the killing spree happening on the grounds of the famed attraction “Night Terror”. She’s also completed work on the creep-tastic “Six Degrees Of Hell” with Corey Feldman, a supernatural thriller that’s like nothing we’ve seen before. What is certain, NIKKI is a sight to behold as a blood-covered babe, something we count on seeing more of. Stumbling upon the pages of Alpha Girls feels like kismet as there’s always been a void in me and probably in horror addicts out there that needs to be filled. I’m referring to the horror classic “The Craft” and it’s been a while since we’ve got close to the scary heights perpetrated by an exquisitely deadly occult practicing coven. “Alpha Girls” has sumptuous traces of that witchfest with gross, demonic debauchery in the vein of “Night Of The Demons” thrown in, angsty “The Secret Circle” juvenile entanglements this is not! The production stills depicts NIKKI as a sorority house mother with hellish intent, her character Veronica hazes girls with a sinister pentagram poker for devil’s sake…hehe. Be it the good or bad girl roles, she infuses them with her brand of fun enticement. Get into the habit of savoring the burgeoning talents of NIKKI for she’s a tasty treat.

Horror Hound Weekend starts on Friday, 11th November and it’s a huge pleasure to spotlight Chelsey Garner, starlet from the highly rated “Down The Road”. Since she was the first of the 3 hot actresses from this retro looking horror flick to befriend me as her fan on Facebook, I’m having her grace the Actress Obsession Blog at the outset. Or maybe it’s her comely pair of green eyes that would be bewitching on the screen irregardless of the period she’s in character. After all, she’s a Southern belle and her hospitable personality would have everyone grow fond of her in no time at all. In “Down The Road”, she’s Michele, one of several fun-seeking college students who are escaping the clutches of their problematic lives only to end up as sacrificial lambs of a vindictive killer. The throwback to the slashers of ’80s and ’90s boomed ever since Ti West’s House Of The Devil caused a stir with its slow burning suspense. “Down The Road” replicates the dated shlock but this time purists will not wait long to be thrilled by the pace and violence. Chelsey’s pained expression near the end of the trailer (above) surely spurs you on to catch the film and find out what fate may befall her.
In fact, she could well be following in the footsteps of actresses such as Scout Taylor-Compton and Danielle Harris who have ascended the throne of perennial slasher sweethearts. The duo I just mentioned were in smaller, independent films (Scout was in “Wicked Things” & Danielle was in “Urban Legend”) before making it big so in the same vein, Chelsey is more than capable of becoming prominent. Having recently read that her aim is to inspire audiences by building a rapport with them, her elegant yet relatable attributes should hold her in good stead. Becoming one of the rallying voices for women in independent cinema has been a mission of mine from the very start and the fascinating Chelsey Garner makes it all worthwhile.

This past week has been one of warm approval for the Fresh Faces in the film world and newcomer THIA SCHUESSLER could yet be another gem. As I’m writing this, she’s currently at or around the majestic theaters in Hollywood where AFI Fest 2011 runs till November 10th in support of the enchanting short film “Clear Blue”. It’s “Cocoon” (the youthful rejuvenation swimming pool) meets “Harold and Maude” (the unexpected bond between older woman and younger man) as a lifeguard encounters a magical phenomenon that suspends our disbelief. The woman at the center of this haunting tale is Fiova, an elderly lady who mystically becomes a much younger version of herself as soon as she’s into the blue. THIA plays the younger version of Fiova, ethereally angelic as she spends significant time underwater that includes a kissing scene or two….can’t wait to see how this perplexing mystery unravels. Already she reminds me of mumblecore princess Greta Gerwig in terms of her magnetic beauty, you know that indie cool, arty European glow that keeps us fascinated (ok I’m a little blatantly bias when it comes to cute blondes…hehe).
A visit to the THIA SCHUESSLER OFFICIAL SITE should give an inkling of her fetching qualities. Blessed with ambrosial features (I believe she’s attractive even sans makeup), THIA does have a comely appeal which even in the 20 mins of “Clear Blue” is captured sublimely. In this fast-changing cinematic terrain, it’s a pleasure to be in touch with the stars of tomorrow such as the lovely THIA who could find herself being regarded as one.

LINDSEY HAUN is carving a name for herself on both sides of the acting and musical divide, hypnotizing us with her cavalcade of talents. Certainly she did so in the trippy thriller “Shrooms” which thrived on LINDSEY’s underrated yet compelling performance that ran the gamut of psychological terror, warning us never to go on an acid trip by way of Magic Mushrooms! Naivety, vulnerability, intoxication and finally lunacy, each facet of her character contrived exceptionally by LINDSEY kept me gripped until the shock ending. You may remember her as Mara, malevolent leader of the iconic group of evil platinum blonde-haired children from “The Village Of The Damned”, sparking off her forays into the underbelly of darkness on both TV and Film. She admits to having an affinity for mysteries as well as murder, culminating in her juicy stint on “True Blood” as Hadley Hale, cousin of Sookie Stackhouse. From getting a violent love bite from Eric to being on intimate terms as the lover of Evan Rachel Wood’s Vamp Queen Sophie-Anne, she became the envy of fang bangers everywhere. That scene of her in the sheer black lingerie (at the ’1:21′ mark) from her reel (above) is rather steamy and commands repeated viewings…;)
Our passion for this comely blonde are set to climb several notches higher when her movies “The Life Zone” and “House Of Last Things” are released. As we’ve seen before, LINDSEY excels when it comes to subject matters that absorbingly confound. The daughter of Air Supply guitarist Jimmy Haun, LINDSEY is currently charting her own path to success with her group Haun Solo Project….does she and her bandmates make them 3D glasses cool or what! Also that powerful, layered voice of hers adding soulfulness to the experimental rock styling of her band, a true aural and visual enchantment…:) Not only is LINDSEY great friends with fellow starlet Amanda Fuller (both of whom I have huge crushes on), it’s awesome that they are ever so kind to let me connect with them on the inter-webs. Even Han Solo would be proud at the lightspeed with which Miss Haun is catching the eye.
