It’s awesome to highlight actresses doing the film festival rounds and the charismatic BUFFY CHARLET is in line for recognition from fans. Due to the fast-paced fluidity of SXSW 2013, I couldn’t get insider news from BUFFY in time for this article but having connected with her is already amazing in itself. After all, she’s appearing in the riveting thriller “Holy Ghost People” as Liz, the woman who becomes the enigma of the story as the world of Snake-Handlers of Southern Appalachia and those from the outside converge. Having vanished mysteriously, her sister Charlotte decides to infiltrate the religious commune only to discover a darkness she would never see coming. BUFFY re-unites once more with Joe Egender, her co-star from indie comedy “Lurking in Suburbia” and moves into a different territory as opposed to her comedic parts in the past. At this year’s SXSW, we’ve seen Jane Levy of “Suburgatory” fame who moved effortlessly into horror with the R-rated “Evil Dead” and the genre bending continues with the talented BUFFY.
“The Buffies” is her successful web series with fellow actress Caroline “Buffy” Rich who has sizzled up this blog before. Their “Cum-N-Go” skit on the wonders of having sperm readily available without the need for men is hilarious so check the video out (above). BUFFY is endearingly good when it comes to the funnier side of life and with her venturing into contrasting roles, this could be the time for her big break.

JOSEPHINE DECKER has an understated charm that will strike a chord with any film buff. Having chatted with her on Facebook, her soft, personable facets came to the fore making my day as she would many of her fans. She may have suggested to start this feature in May but since JOSEPHINE is on the radar at SXSW 2013 this week, I’m jumping the gun to spotlight her. This willowy cutie is appearing in the highly anticipated “Loves Her Gun”, a darkly romantic drama of a young woman’s transformation from victim to fighter via her use of weapons. The whole cast has been called fascinatingly organic and there lies the everlasting appeal of indie talents such as JOSEPHINE. She strives for the untypical and the JOSEPHINE DECKER OFFICIAL SITE lists her catalogue of exceptional work in all forms of entertainment.
She of course first caught the eye as the girl on Craigslist in Sundance favorite “Uncle Kent”, a drama where relationships are either helped or hindered by tech. JOSEPHINE was a director at that time and together with leading lady Jennifer Prediger had minimal acting experience. Both have seen their career blossomed after venturing into the film world so kudos to their versatility. JOSEPHINE has even delved into horror as an amateur ghost hunter in “Saturday Morning Massacre, along the way surprising many a viewer with a daringly long sex scene. “Autoerotic” is yet another gem where she gets into a little lesbian romp with a pregnant woman no less. Her bold choices will ensure JOSEPHINE gets a fair bit of attention in what will be a riveting journey on the big screen.

SXSW 2013 Fever is happening this week and KENDRA WALDMAN is the enchanting brunette everyone will have eyes for at the vibrant festival. She is heading down to Austin Texas for the premiere of her feature “Reality Show” this weekend which means more than ample time to become acquainted with the mesmerizing sweetness of KENDRA. She plays Jenna, a demanding network TV decision maker who is insistent that the pitches that go through her and her team are riveting enough. Getting on the nerves of the leading man Mickey Wagner (Adam Rifkin, writer and director of “Reality Show”) by being a constant irritant is all in a day’s work and KENDRA is in her element as the bossy, very driven Jenna. The trailer (above) shows glimpses of the lovely KENDRA as Jenna being rather pushy and I can’t wait to see fireworks ignite especially since her character is quite the bitch. Reminiscent of “The Truman Show”, where the privacy in your backyard is compromised for the sake of high ratings, “Reality Show” is a must-see for its sartorial take on the pervasive mindlessness of reality shows.
KENDRA will also be seen in the upcoming “Gutshot Straight” which stars George Eads from “CSI” and Annalyn McCord of “90210″ fame. Clearly from her photos, KENDRA does have a warm smile that gives her a fascinating edge and from head to toe, she’s glowing…:) We’ll be hearing more about this cutie in the days ahead.

A woman of many talents, JULIA GROB has the charm bordering on sincerity we will find most engaging. When the great man himself Kevin Spacey named JULIA as one of 25 emerging theater artists, it’s resonates that’s she’s someone who deserves recognition. She is the creative producer of the comedic web series “East WillyB” which at its core is a multi-layered illustrations of the American Latino community. Julia has chosen to keep it heartfelt, a true reflection of the experiences of Latinos in Brooklyn. This year, you’ll be able to see her returning as the brash Ceci Rivera in the Second Season of “East WillyB”. The outspoken character she plays is a Mexican-Cuban bar waitress with a take no prisoners exterior and might I say she’s a joy to watch. It’s also nice to know her as one of the stars of the film “Calloused Hands” which is screening at the Miami International Film Festival 2013. This is surely the avenue for JULIA to gain even more exposure for the impeccable work she’s done over the years.
She’s been commendable in enlightening us on her Latin identity through her multi-platform pursuits and the JULIA GROB OFFICIAL SITE is where you can keep up with the latest. One can never stop emphasizing the finest aspects of onscreen darlings and the perky CHANTEL FLANDERS is indeed a burgeoning talent. You may have seen her in the comedy feature “Vamp U” as Lorainne, the prissy Sorority Girl in charge who will cross path with an out-of-control vampire played by Julie Gonzalo. Julie’s character Chris is actually the creation of an impotent vampire (Yup, he can’t seem to bare his fangs) who unwittingly creates a bloodsucker who unleahses hell on campus. Check out CHANTEL’s reel (above) and watch Julie give her a bite in rather brutal fashion!. Wow! That must have been so fun to film being so neck-to-neck close with Julie. As we know Julie is a mega-star thanks to her being a leading lady on Dallas and the exposure CHANTEL is getting from the release of “Vamp U” may just gain buzz for the lovely blonde. CHANTEL deserves a spot in the limelight and her pleasant nature will go a long way in getting her treasured by viewers.
When I first told her of my intention to have her as a dazzler on this blog, she was genuinely magnanimous. So often we don’t see this endearing side of actresses and being gracious is something I envision CHANTEL having for a long time. She’s also an adroit comedienne and stars in the 11-episode web series “Crash Pad” where the humorous set pieces are entirely up to the improv skills of the actors. If digital is the current wave in comedy then having CHANTEL engage us with her sprightly presence while dispensing the laughs is a joy! It’s so cool to be funny and CHANTEL does have the sparkle to make her the jewel in our eyes.

Viewers are going to be in love with the heavenly women of TV in 2013 and JACKIE JOYNER ranks as an all-round cutie among the bevy of beauties. If you’ve seen her demo reel via the JACKIE JOYNER OFFICIAL SITE, you’ll be fascinated by her high-pitched, quirky voice. This endearing trait of hers makes her remarkable in a special way and reminiscent of say “Glee” actress Jayma Mays. Jackie herself is looking to enthrall as she’s guest-starring in the 13th episode of “The New Normal” entitled ‘Stay-At-Home Dad’ premiering 15th Jan after the festive break. She recounts her experience working on “The New Normal” as the best ever and credits actor Andrew Rannells as one of the nicest she’s ever had the pleasure of working with. He went the distance to ensure all actors on set got what they needed, revealing a chivalrous side of the industry. Hope I get to work alongside such benevolent people one day…:)
It’s no wonder JACKIE has the irrepressible smile and the fact she loves what I’m doing with the advent of this tribute to actresses is so amiable of her. She does feel blessed to be doing what she’s passionate about and her positivity is awe-inspiring. Have a look at her other credits which include appearances in “iCarly”, “In Plain Sight” and as a therapist on the web series “Youthful Daze”. Personality counts a great deal and JACKIE has one that’s both radiant and comely. Her easy-going, accessibility would be of great appeal to our hearts and minds.

It’s another round of fascination for the ladies of film fests and CHELSEA RAE BERNIER is a hottie with the mesmerizing effect on most. She is the star of “Impetuous”, playing Brittany, popular girl and crush of a geek who unintentionally finds a love connection with him despite their obvious differences. But it comes at a price as she is unable to stop the cruel joke that’s about to befall the unfortunate love-lorn dude! The Hollywood Reel Indie Film Festival happening until 15th December 2012 is where you can catch this tale of pervasive bullying in schools and the short is making its world premiere on Dec 9th. Coincidentally, she’s also on the Lifetime Channel in a supporting role in the movie, “All About Christmas Eve” and what better to get into the Festive mood by fawning over the enchanting CHELSEA not once but twice. While she does have the sassy looks reminiscent of Malin Akerman, Chelsea’s pronounced vivacity via that radiant smile of hers can be thoroughly likable.
