Stars of tomorrow are certainly emerging at CANNES and MISTY UPHAM is one who is on song to steal our hearts with a series of upcoming roles. Most significant of all, she will be at CANNES walking down the red carpet with leading man Benicio Del Toro for the premiere of “Jimmy P”. Buzz is swirling around for this film that deals with loss from a Native American perspective and surely eyes are on MISTY who in the press photos can be seen in scenes with Benicio. Apparently MISTY’s character JANE has a romantic liaison with Benicio’s Jimmy P which will be talked about by many. In fact, she has been a scene stealer before in the critically acclaimed hit “Frozen River” alongside Melissa Leo and it would be fitting if she garnered the plaudits this time around. LOUISE LINTON is a heavenly actress who has an undeniably foxy presence and alluring style that has seen her being lauded consistently as a fashion icon. If I were part of the team led by LOUISE’s character Emerson, the vast expanses of space wouldn’t look that mundane anymore. There’s a sexy vivaciousness about her coupled with sweet layers of mesmerizing qualities. Rest assured, her range is just as amazing as she has shown as a drug addicted single mother in “The Power Of Few”, the Christopher Walken action-fueled drama.

It’s endearing to know she also advocates the importance of education within the craft of acting, imploring those around her to learn as much as they can. JOSEPHINE DECKER has an understated charm that will strike a chord with any film buff. Having chatted with her on Facebook, her soft, personable facets came to the fore making my day as she would many of her fans. She may have suggested to start this feature in May but since JOSEPHINE is on the radar at SXSW 2013 this week, I’m jumping the gun to spotlight her. This willowy cutie is appearing in the highly anticipated “Loves Her Gun”, a darkly romantic drama of a young woman’s transformation from victim to fighter via her use of weapons. The whole cast has been called fascinatingly organic and there lies the everlasting appeal of indie talents such as JOSEPHINE. She strives for the untypical and the JOSEPHINE DECKER OFFICIAL SITE lists her catalogue of exceptional work in all forms of entertainment.
She of course first caught the eye as the girl on Craigslist in Sundance favorite “Uncle Kent”, a drama where relationships are either helped or hindered by tech. A woman of many talents, JULIA GROB has the charm bordering on sincerity we will find most engaging. When the great man himself Kevin Spacey named JULIA as one of 25 emerging theater artists, it’s resonates that’s she’s someone who deserves recognition. She is the creative producer of the comedic web series “East WillyB” which at its core is a multi-layered illustrations of the American Latino community. Julia has chosen to keep it heartfelt, a true reflection of the experiences of Latinos in Brooklyn. This year, you’ll be able to see her returning as the brash Ceci Rivera in the Second Season of “East WillyB”. The outspoken character she plays is a Mexican-Cuban bar waitress with a take no prisoners exterior and might I say she’s a joy to watch. It’s also nice to know her as one of the stars of the film “Calloused Hands” which is screening at the Miami International Film Festival 2013. This is surely the avenue for JULIA to gain even more exposure for the impeccable work she’s done over the years.

Irish eyes are indeed smiling when FIONA RYAN takes to the screen, her delectable beauty so compelling and easy on the eyes. I have to say thanks to FIONA for reminding me of her hotness just a day ago on Facebook! She absolutely merits a feature spot for being one of the most ravishing sweethearts to emerge from Ireland. Hit series “The Tudors” was when we were introduced to her doe-like loveliness, in Irish-Gaelic terms one would praise FIONA with the word ‘Tegan’ which means mighty fine. Certainly in the corset which was so prevalent in the 15th century, she was distinctly enchanting as Jane, love interest of composer Thomas Tallis. While her fellow thesp Katie McGrath is now globally revered as Morgana on “Merlin” (the TV series I’m currently following earnestly), there’s a huge probability FIONA herself could be big on both sides of the pond (UK & the US).
She was in the supernatural thriller ‘Airborne’ in July last year where she appeared alongside ‘Mr Skywalker’ Mark Hamill and Gemma Atkinson. She also dazzled in ‘Life Just Is’, the existential drama of relationships, death and careers! Delving into different emotions as Claire, an art graduate who is all perky until a tragedy strikes close to her heart, FIONA gave a thought-provoking performance. It’s all in the eyes some may say and FIONA does ever so well to draw us into her world of storytelling. I’m so excited for what she’s going to do next and everyone should be as well for MISS FIONA RYAN is fetchingly divine!
Indie Princess: Lexi Giovagnoli

If ever there was an upcoming starlet to take note of, LEXI GIOVAGNOLI would definitely be one to evoke admirable glances from viewers. She has a lovable appeal and seeing how she was ever so nice to provide me with some behind the scenes news, here’s me giving her a shout-out! “Bloody Homecoming” is one of her intriguing films in what is billed as “My Bloody Valentines” meets “Prom Night”. Let’s hope LEXI’s the Final Girl in this slasher as she’s adorable and deserves to make it to the film’s end. The other big project she’s a big part of is the Campfire horror “Varsity Blood” as she’s cast alongside horror icon Debbie Rochon (who plays her mother), appearing as Hannah Wallace who together with her fellow cheerleaders are targeted by a maniac wielding a lethal fighting ax and a bow and arrow. She just wrapped “Varsity Blood” although the director and producers are mulling over a title change because there are interested distributors. What’s amazing about LEXI is that she’s juggling her film schedule and school which is clearly tough. Speaking from my own experience, you almost feel swamped and yet you soldier on so it’s highly respectable what LEXI is doing.
She has also delved into comedy with a little bit of magic called “3 Times A Charm” and will be in the drama “1 Chance 2 Dance”. In the latter she recalls one of her favorite bloopers: In the movie there is a cafeteria scene involving Gabby (her character) and her two new friends Dana and Jude. They’re giving Gabby the lowdown on the “Neapolitans”. Anyway during this scene, Teresa (who plays Jude) is explaining the girls’ background in a mini monologue and she was getting it perfect every time, per usual. When the girls had quite a few wonderful takes the director Adam, decided that the word slut might be too much for our PG rating, so he asked Teresa to say poop instead for one take. The next take started like all of the others, but when Teresa got to her script change, she started laughing hysterically. Well hearing Teresa, a comedian in her own right, was cracking up, LEXI couldn’t help but do the same. It took them about 20-30 minutes to be able to stop laughing. Every time they would calm down and start again, Teresa would break at the same spot.
She may be living the life as a student actress yet LEXI is getting a number of leading roles. This cherubic beauty has already made her mark in independent films which could propel her to even bigger roles in the future.
