To be fascinating is divine and MITTITA BARBER has plenty of crave-worthy facets to spark off interest. Take for example her name MITTITA which is not only unique, it has a sexy ring to it. She does get to display her foxy side in “Crowsnest” which has been featured at SundanceNOW and touted to be a stirring vision of the macabre. One thing is certain there’s no stopping Found Footage Horror and the hot women gracing these sub-genre of terror! MITTITA shines as Brooke who is somewhat of a slut and even if this was a common archetype in the genre, she delivers an engaging performance. The shaky camera work will always be there yet there’s always something new to entertain viewers in terms of plotlines or just that we get to appreciate a Fresh Face such as MITTITA.
Somehow her hazel eyes seem to resonate with a soulful charm and who doesn’t love an actress who radiates vulnerability onscreen. Although she was rather more potent on the popular hit TV series “Supernatural” as a creature called Arachne who have abilities similar to those of spiders, trapping their victims in deadly webs. While MITITTA is gaining prominence in indie features, she should be on everyone’s radar for she could grow from indie horror darling to desirable upcoming talent.
Euro Vixen: Mika Ela Fisher

Some actresses have the knack for being scene-stealers and MIKA ELA FISHER does so with what can be described as a Twiggy-like individualism. Her distinctive angular features and wiry frame are certainly deceptively gorgeous. It’s no wonder she excelled as the scary villain Zak in the French thriller “Tell No One” which starred Kristin Scott Thomas. According to reviewers of the movie, the scene of her being shot in the back and tenderly staggering to her death was memorable in the way it was depicted by MIKA. Not forgetting how her character administered torture by squeezing the groin of unlucky men…OUCH! Now she gets our attention in the award-winning short film “The Naked Leading The Blind” which screens at Twin Cities Film Festival 2012.
From the excerpts taken from “The Naked Leading The Blind”(see video above), she appears as the wife of presumably a blind man (or is he?) in the artsy tale of love and spiritual being. A visit to the MIKA ELA FISHER OFFICIAL SITE might shed some light and it sounds like there’ll be many fascinating days ahead to watch the movie. MIKA herself is striking and this German actress/model will get plenty of people talking because she possesses such a bewildering face…:)

Acknowledging new talents is something I’m passionate about and JENNIFER ROBYN JACOBS is a gal who could turn out to be a future indie darling. With her pixie hair and demure features, JENNIFER’s desirability is obvious. Even in the grainy scenes from her film “100 Ghost Street: The Return of Richard Speck”, one can pick out how photogenic she is onscreen. She plays Jen who is part of a TV Crew investigating a paranormal incident at the infamous townhouse where Richard Speck slaughtered several women. As a ghost hunter of sorts, JENNIFER projected a sense of believability and excel in the suspenseful moments up till the final reel. So as not to divulge anything, I urge you to watch the movie to know her fate! The found footage genre never seems to cease amazing the ever-growing fan base.
Found it strange that IMDB has stopped its Fresh Faces Of The Week segment but that leaves a nice opportunity for me to heap praise on up and coming actresses like JENNIFER. You can also keep up with the latest updates at the JENNIFER ROBYN JACOBS OFFICIAL SITE. She will soon appear in a tense drama “Threading Needles” about inter-racial love as the paramour of a young African man. Cultural prejudices and the hard-hitting reality of forbidden love is explored from a fresh yet truthful context. Great to see JENNIFER in a heartfelt role and there’s plenty more to come from this exquisite newcomer.

Dance With Films never fails to unveil up and coming actresses with JENNI MELEAR being yet another apple of our eyes. She’s the leading lady of the refreshing dramedy “Dead Dad”, a must see if you’re an indie addict! Taking a new approach to the idea of a dysfunctional family, this is a tale of 3 siblings trying to find a common bond after the passing of their dad. As the confused and resentful younger sister Jane Sawtelle, JENNI credibly accomplishes every emotional tinge from initial realization to the desire of a perfect farewell for a father figure. JENNI’s perfect chemistry with her cast mates has added to the authenticity of the film, the solid acting of each one key to the essence of the story.
Head over to the the JENNI MELEAR OFFICIAL SITE and take a look at some of the stuff she’s done including dolling up for a Ford Commercial. I may have missed out on her red carpet appearance but one can make out that she’s exquisite in an angelic kind of way. In a world where word of mouth is becoming increasingly relevant, it’s great to be able to share the wonderful work of fresh faces. This could be the start of a beautiful passion for JENNI as we look forward to her new projects.

This past week has been one of warm approval for the Fresh Faces in the film world and newcomer THIA SCHUESSLER could yet be another gem. As I’m writing this, she’s currently at or around the majestic theaters in Hollywood where AFI Fest 2011 runs till November 10th in support of the enchanting short film “Clear Blue”. It’s “Cocoon” (the youthful rejuvenation swimming pool) meets “Harold and Maude” (the unexpected bond between older woman and younger man) as a lifeguard encounters a magical phenomenon that suspends our disbelief. The woman at the center of this haunting tale is Fiova, an elderly lady who mystically becomes a much younger version of herself as soon as she’s into the blue. THIA plays the younger version of Fiova, ethereally angelic as she spends significant time underwater that includes a kissing scene or two….can’t wait to see how this perplexing mystery unravels. Already she reminds me of mumblecore princess Greta Gerwig in terms of her magnetic beauty, you know that indie cool, arty European glow that keeps us fascinated (ok I’m a little blatantly bias when it comes to cute blondes…hehe).
A visit to the THIA SCHUESSLER OFFICIAL SITE should give an inkling of her fetching qualities. Blessed with ambrosial features (I believe she’s attractive even sans makeup), THIA does have a comely appeal which even in the 20 mins of “Clear Blue” is captured sublimely. In this fast-changing cinematic terrain, it’s a pleasure to be in touch with the stars of tomorrow such as the lovely THIA who could find herself being regarded as one.

Recent entertaining turns on several hit shows should serve as a catalyst for adoration to come the way of actress EMILY SWALLOW. In an episode of universally acclaimed series “The Good Wife”, she’s Mandy Cox, a music executive in a litigation case involving a British climber who sneakily steals the stuff of people who die at purported mountainous peaks termed the ‘Death Zone’. Grilled by no-nonsense Alicia Florrick (the formidable Julianna Margulies), she gets caught red-handed in a lie. On a more positive note, she’s also playing Detective Saldana looking into a suspected missing person after an anonymous tip on Sarah Michelle Gellar’s “Ringer”. EMILY affectionately refers to her role as the one where she does her detective schtick…:) Coming across as calm and convincing as the figure of authority, she’s also quite the looker so let’s hope EMILY gets a regular gig on “Ringer”. Touted as having a strikingly expressive face, Emily has replicated her moving portrayals on an impressive array of theatrical work and harnessing it ever so well on TV. Fans of “Southland” will know her as Dina Clarke, wife of homicide detective Russell Clarke (Tom Everett Scott) who kicks his sorry ass out of their home, both succumbing to strains in their marriage. She’s all about trying to capture the essence of her parts and it won’t be long before she becomes a TV Siren.
I love how she’s regularly seen as a performer with a stimulating flexibility with reviewers exalting her mastery of variations when in character largely thanks to her steely rendition as Kate from Taming Of The Shrew. She has previously plied her talents on stage alongside Kathryn Hahn, Rashida Jones as well as Sam Trammell and Rutina Wesley (both of “True Blood” fame). While vast distance may prevent me from enjoying her in the numerous plays she’s done, it’s already gratifying watching her illuminate the small screen.

My motto has always been to search for Cuties in the industry and today I’m nudging JULIET LOPEZ in the spotlight. As you will find out, she has a supporting role in the the mushy romance “Ten Year” which screens at TIFF 2011 on 12 and 14th September. Ensemble casts such as the one in “Ten Year” are always fascinating, throwing up a myriad of personalities, some more likable than others in a much truer representation of every day life. Not forgetting we get to be entertained by Fresh Faces such as JULIET who appears alongside seasoned ones such as Lucy Hale, Kate Mara, Rosario Dawson, Lynn Collins and Jenna Dewan (her husband Channing Tatum is in this film too!). In the throes of this babe fest, my only gripe yet again is that we’ve deprived of a trailer!! JULIET herself is undoutably relishing her work in the comedy genre and not just on the big screen. She’s swiftly making waves on the web as is the cast of “Enter The Dojo”, the satire on martial arts schools. Watch her in Episode 3 (above) as JULIET plays thoughtful yet timid Cynthia, learning the fine art of protecting oneself from rape. For anyone who has ever attended self defense classes, it’s easy to identify with her character nuances as JULIET is so relatable as the aspiring martial artist.
Stealthily inserting humor at opportune moments in that very episode does augur well for her as a future comedienne. With such a personable and interesting facet to JULIET, it clearly encourages us want to find out more about her, especially when she puts on that charming smile. Will we be enamored of her just like Romeo was with his paramour of the same name? Time is absolutely on her side to ensure that happens and viewers would jump at the chance to see more of what she can do…:)
French Vixen: Amandine Maugy

It’s been a while since a French temptress graced this blog so it’s with pleasure I give you the diving AMANDINE MAUGY. If you’ve manage to catch her in the short film “Le Hobby”, you’ll see how AMANDINE wields that power to seduce on film. She plays a prostitute who dives headlong into a sexual and emotional affair with a mortician, showing him there’s more to life than death. Her gorgeous, supple body laid bare as she’s in a steamy lovemaking scene (watch the NSFW clip above) that emphasizes an unbridled affair of the heart. She’s a tamer of men as once Carla Bruni aka Mrs Sarkozy remarked; showing the protagonist that without passion, one can never say they truly lived. One of AMANDINE’s most sexually-charged role to date yet manages to maintains a delicate femininity that’s highly appealing. The sexy freckles adorning her angelic face serves to make our eyes wander to the natural exquisiteness that heightens her wholesome beauty. One just has to visit the AMANDINE MAUGY OFFICIAL SITE and see the many photos she’s in, underlining her youthful French chic.
Besides her various acting and modeling gigs, she’s noted for gracing the Chanel Chance Perfume Commercial that harks back to a glamorous era and AMANDINE can be said to have timeless allure in this. She’s also been featured in a clutch of music videos often as the center of attention. While she may await her breakout role, this Parisian Cutie has done adequately to suggest there’s potential in her to rise to the top.
