- Becoming sought after in the horror genre even though Kim is famed for her work on both television and film.
- Our soft spot for Canadian actresses has a lot to do with Kim Poirier because she exudes so much sex appeal!
- Memorably saucy in “Decoys” as well as in the Zombie re-imagining of the classic “Dawn Of The Dead” (her titillating sex scene of course)
- Set to kick Zombie ass in “100 Days of Death” adapted from the fascinating Graphic Novel of the same name.
2. Jessica Cameron
- Jessica is a rapidly blossoming Canadian Terror Hotties with several projects lined up in 2013!
- She was one of the first actresses that captivated me thanks to her being such a blonde bombshell and being ever so approachable.
- Recently appeared with Malcolm McDowell in the gorefest that is “Silent Night”
- Horror may be her forte yet Jessica is comfortable in dramatic and comedic features.
3. Felissa Rose
- Felissa Rose is considered as a legend of horror and a cult figure.
- “Caesar and Otto’s Deadly Christmas” and “Dead.tv” are features that will return her to the pinnacle of adoration by horror fans worldwide.
- She loves to explore the different psyches of a person which has kept her in good stead when she delves into those dysfunctional characters.
- Forever iconic as Angela in “Sleepaway Camp”, she’s a firm favorite at every horror convention.
4. Ashlynn Yennie
- “The Human Centipede” was her claim to fame and her brilliance in such a controversial role was key in getting her lauded.
- Expect Ashlynn to entice opposite Elish Duhsku and Katie Cassidy in “The Scribbler” as a woman with the inclination to run around naked, a result of her mental illness.
- Has handled a variety of intense characters and does it with compelling ease.
- Billed as the One To Watch this year, she also has the naturally sexy personality to win viewers over.
5. Lisa Wilcox
- Lisa Wilcox together with Heather Langenkamp are two of the most revered leading ladies of “A Nightmare On Elm Street” franchise!
- Her appeal lies in her ability to be vulnerable yet deliver a tough veneer onscreen.
- Till Today, Lisa is one of the most ravishing women ever to grace the film world and her everlasting sweetness is to be admired.
- Watch out for Lisa in the upcoming supernatural thriller “The Church”.
Actresses in Grindhouse films are often regarded as an addiction and OLIVIA LACROIX will soon rank as one of the hottest. As one of the stars of the exploitation film “Dear God No!”, her role as Evelyn Marco is regarded as being one of the creepiest. She does wear some freaky makeup in the film that’s brimming with Bikers, Strippers and even a Psychotic Bigfoot. There’s also plenty of limb removal to satiate gorehounds and OLIVIA will probably have a sinister say in proceedings. Let’s just say as Mrs Marco, she does indeed return from the grave! Luckily I’ve managed to connect with her online and personally I can’t wait to see her macabre performance.
If you’re heading to the Texas Frightmare Weekend, mark the date May the 4th as its the screening of “Dear God No!” at 12 midnight. With her stunning green eyes and kissable lips, let’s hope horror fans get a taste of the lovely OLIVIA in even more features. As a model, she has graced the WWE ring with “The Godfather” for several RAW events. In real life, OLIVIA is regarded as a bundle of fun and extremely approachable. She’s working the horror convention circuit so the time is ripe to show our appreciation for her…:)
Chase Monroe & Devanny Pinn in “The Los Angeles Ripper”
Year in and Year out, we maintain our manic passion for horror actresses precisely because they yield that something special be it their beauty, strong onscreen performances or their distinguishing X-Factor. If you’ve come across the many modeling photos of rising starlet Chase Monroe, you’ll discover she’s breathtaking and if her namesake Marilyn were still alive would most definitely approve! It’s the way she wears different looks that makes her such a dazzler, 100% sexy with a Capital ‘S’. This pin-up vixen stars in gripping indie “The Los Angeles Ripper” as Angel who knowingly ropes her cousin Kristy into some kinky behavior but doesn’t quite realize they’re leading headlong into trouble of the serial killer kind. There’s also ‘Horror Barbie’ Devanny Pinn gracing the film and with her liking for going to the extreme in her film work, get ready for these two Gore Gore Girls to blow your mind. Don’t forget the entrancing colorful streaks on their very hair that adds to their sweet sauciness.

Vivi Pineda in “Beware”
Horror with a Latin flavor could very well become the next hot commodity in the genre as will the starlets fronting them. You’ve already seen Sex Bomb Mayra Leal of “Playing House” fame seducing and scaring our wits as a Fatal-Obsession like murderess. Now actress/model/host Vivi Pineda keeps us on tether hooks in “Beware” which some have called a rebirth of the slasher with a new icon of terror in the same sadistic vein as Michael Myers. He goes by the name Shane whose very own gruesome past has led to his crazy rampage on the unlucky road trippers that includes Vivi’s character Cristina. We’re all hoping she survives till the end! While it might have something to do with Vivi’s daintiness and sexy curves, you’ll find that she has a memorable face that even photogs have lauded as being exceedingly beguiling.

Chloë Sevigny in “All Flowers In Time”
What more can we ask for when the enchanting Chloë consistently baits us with the potency of her eccentricity. From her days partaking in an authentic blowjob (that Vincent Gallo is one lucky dude!) to maintaining her indie cred, she seems to fall below the radar yet somehow finds a way to cause a stir. “Big Love” did bring her to a wider audience who have come to adore her carefree persona. At times, one feels she doesn’t quite belong in the mainstream yet is often recognized as a fashionable trendsetter. The trailer for her sci-fi short film “All Flowers In Time” doesn’t reveal much except for her strikingly beady, red eyes but rest assured she’ll elevate this bizarre possession tale to enthralling heights. Here’s an actress who doesn’t want to play safe and continues to thrive on the back of it.
It’s a stroke of luck that I came across the clip (above) of Eileen Dietz from her new thriller “Butterfly”. Eileen is somehow missing from the trailers (could it just a cameo??) but the scene that I mentioned is actually an excerpt from a snuff film made by the mentally disturbed protagonist Laney, the probable villain of “Butterfly” or is she? Comparisons with Ellen Page’s harrowing tale “Hard Candy” quickly come to mind; A troubled young girl playing twisted games with her object of obsession, bloodletting and gore being a necessary evil. In a special appearance, Eileen plays Joy Greenstahl, one of many who becomes immortalized in death on 24 frames per second of amateur video. Even at her most subtle, Eileen’s affinity with horror is clear and a host of upcoming roles should seal her status as the Queen Of Screams.
Monique Parent, Alexis Zibolis & Felissa Rose in “Breath Of Hate”
3 distinctly heavenly personalities in 1 twisted tale is always a good thing and what we have are a redhead, brunette and blonde satiating each and every appetite. The lineup of ravishing ladies from the thriller “Breath Of Hate” comprises the sultry Monique Parent, the sassy Alexis Zibolis and the exotic Felissa Rose. Cult actress Felissa is in a supporting role as a realtor who in the grand scheme of things sets the sadistic chain of events in motion. Alexis plays Jenna, one of three escorts who are on a collision course with a trio of escaped mental patiets. One of them being Selma, the deranged dominatrix with a penchant for pain characterized by Miss Monique. Now that’s triple the hotness with each pronouncedly appealing to our senses. So let’s return the favor by showing them our endless devotion.
MANOUSH stands on her own as a character actress in Horror with an unabashed attitude who has over the years embodied villainous personas with distinction. You won’t be seeing her as the victim in her 40+ films instead unrestrained depravity is the order of the day in MANOUSH’s performances thus far. Her wicked ways as the dominatrix and snuff filmmaker Olga in the much talked about “The Super” is a descend into immoral pleasures, i.e. the act of killing for profit. She excelled as the symbol of domineering feminity, reminiscent of her brilliant turn as Lady Boss Madame Fabienne in the violent “La Petite Mort” who has a bloodlust for hacking off human parts including a dude’s manhood. While gorehounds revel in the terror of the movies she’s been in, it’s the atmosphere of foreboding created by this Swiss-born German actress that’s ultimately resounding.
Humbly unpretentious and deeply passionate for horror herself, MANOUSH is a talented lady who audiences can most definitely relate to. Let me tell you she loves to have a bout of cussing once in a while and not averse to laying bare her opinions on current affairs. Case in point her grouses with the socio-political climate on Facebook, giving her two cents worth regarding the Southwest Airlines/ Leisha Hailey girl-on-girl kiss incident…can you believe Leisha got kicked off the plane for that! MANOUSH can sure rumble with the best and her straight-rule, tell it like she sees it grievances on worldly issues is genuinely remarkable…makes me wanna rid the universe of injustices too!! Lauded as a genre icon, she’s exhibiting a unique depth not only on celluloid but as a person and conversationalist. If you’re looking for an authenticity in a performer then MANOUSH delivers it full on.
Australian actresses are always dear to my heart and my fondness for them grows tenfold watching fantastic talents like GEORGINA SYMES shine in absorbing projects. She definitely caught my eye in the ultra-violent trailer of “Bad Behaviour” (above) particularly at the end when she got plastered by the huge geyser of blood spewing from a dude’s face!! In the spirit of a classic such as “A Clockwork Orange” which this year incidentally celebrated its 40th anniversary, “Bad Behaviour” itself has some pretty disturbing moments, pushing the boundaries of taste yet keeping that chillingly Australian twist. For sure, this Aussie gore fest and its amazing cast would receive plaudits if ever Malcolm McDowell himself came across it! It lives up to its billing as a Serial Killer Thriller from start to finish. With industry circles likening GEORGINA to a blend of Claire Danes and Cate Blanchett, don’t be surprise if she’s the next emerging starlet from OZ. The fact that she’s a Queensland native, I’m throwing my weight of support behind her for as you know I was a resident there for a good 3 years that it felt like home. Furthermore, “Bad Behavior” was screened at CANNES ensuring plenty of exposure for this wondrous upcoming talent.
GEORGINA is also considered one of Queensland Theatre’s most cherished leading ladies having wowed audiences in the Shakespearean satire “The Alchemist”. She’s expected to do so once again in “FEFU AND HER FRIENDS” playing at Parade Theatres on 6-14 August that is if you are in Australia or plan to pay a visit. Her elegantly styled blonde hair heightens the sassy confidence she projects on film and stage and with such an engaging glow, we can’t help but be charmed. When it comes to GEORGINA, there’s can be only good things to come from her and she’ll be on our radars this year and beyond.
Elissa Dowling, Debbie Rochon & Erica Rhodes in “The Theatre Bizzare”
As Fantasia Film Fest 2011 invades Montreal, Canada so should we get to know the actresses that will leaves us wanting more. I start off with a Trifecta Of Sizzlers who have in one way or another been instrumental in the horror genre. Elissa Dowling, Debbie Rochon and Erica Rhodes are brought together in the psychedelic anthology “The Theatre Bizzare” that has been talked up due to its freaky, thought-provoking content. Graphically violent and sexually explicit, this has all the right ingredients to deliver stomach-churning terror. The six short films guaranteed to contain some of the sickest segments that builds upon the Grand Guignol horror tradition, a shock-horror style first popularized in the Paris theatre. Here I wax lyrical on the trio of the fiendishly clever “The Theatre Bizzare”.
Elissa Dowling – One of the busiest genre actresses who has 2 films premiering at Fantasia 2011 who is also appearing in “Abolition” with the legendary Caroline Wiliams. It’s her uniquely bewitching eyes that instantly has you entranced and Elissa is thoroughly first rate as a character actress.
Debbie Rochon – What more admiring words can one bestowed on the delectable and rousing Debbie Rochon that has already been said? Revered as a Scream Queen Legend, the passion she has shown for her craft and for her legions of fans speak volumes of the influential figure she’s constantly admired for being.
Erica Rhodes - “Plague Town” may have been her debut in horror but Erica made a fantastic impression in a feisty role. Don’t let her blonde cuteness detract you from her abilities to rouse your emotions as she’s done on the web as the ditzy Sandy of Upstairs Girl fame. Desired and desirable all at the same time.
That’s 3 Wonderfully Appealing Women For The Price Of One Ticket….A Huge Turn On I say!
I hope that sultry belle Katherine Randolph is cast in “Femme Fatales” in the near future as she’s at her dangerously sexy best in the thriller “One In A Gun”. Multiple glowing reviews are coming in for her scene-stealer of a performance as Katrina Webb, the scheming seductress who takes us into dark territory as the noirish film progresses. However in the upcoming “Knifepoint”, Katherine switches it up by starring as a woman who together with her sister are brutalized by a pair of sadistic criminals. From violent offender to victim, here’s an actress who’s comfortable being both and who can forget her striptease in the ultra-gory POV-style flick “Penance”. Rapidly flourishing as an indie starlet and destined to entice and enthrall in a host of gripping thrillers in 2011, Katherine will be in high demand.
Just like how Jennifer Lawrence came to prominence after her riveting one-woman show in “Winter’s Bone”, expect Brit Marling to do likewise. The star and screenwriter of sci-fi drama “Another Earth” is stunning and intriguing in equal measures. Not one to conform to often mentioned label of newest ‘IT’ girl, Brit prefers to maintain an air of mysterious allure and and does not want success to get to her head. As we have seen in Hollywood, there’s always going to be another raved-about newcomer around the bend. But tried as she might, Tinseltown has come a-calling and she’s starring alongside heavy hitters Tim Roth, Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon in the thriller “Arbitrage”. On the verge of ascending as an indie darling with creative writing streak, it’s also her belief in being grounded in the face of fame that enthralls.
When you want a raw sensuality with healthy doses of depravity on film, Canadian Scream Queen Melantha Blackthorne is the gal to make it all happen! And boy does she love the bloodletting as this voluptuous Terror Hottie has viscerally depicted in the movies she’s done through the years. None more so that in her newest indie “Aversion” where she’s Claire, the elegant wife suddenly afflicted by demonic possession. When she’s in the teeth-baring demon form, Melantha is truly a frightening sight. Of course under all the make-up lies a blonde bombshell and Melantha should be considered as one of the Sex Symbols Of the Horror Industry. She will no doubt tempt the hell out of you and then terrify you to death…hehe. That’s the adrenaline rush she brings to the table and her scary ways are not to be missed!
Here’s an actress who’s been in highly controversial films namely the grindhouse throwback horror of “Someone’s Knocking At The Door” to the brutality of female incarceration in “Caged Lesbos A-Go-Go. Kudos to Elina Madison for pushing the limits of taste in and proving that there’s really strong characterization in the exploitation genre. She continues to provide the shocks in the revenge flick “Chop” which has been called a smart thriller with an assault on the senses ala the Korean classic “Oldboy”. From the trailer (above), there’s going to chunks of disturbing elements including the requisite torture porn that is now a staple of every horror fan’s diet. Elina is always an appetizing watch and has excelled in a variety of roles that are at times unsettling. Elina is showing why she’s one of the most stimulating actresses today.
Despite not a trailer being released yet for End Of Days tale “Abolition”, having cult actress Caroline Williams attached to the project makes it even more compelling. She’s coming on strong on her return to horror and has managed to snag some meaty roles. In “Abolition”, Caroline plays Eva, the devoted mother of a troubled man who in the grand scheme of things could either be the world’s savior or the antichrist himself. There’s plenty to ponder in this supernatural thriller as we dig deeper into faith and spirituality of our human condition. Check out the behind the scenes clip (above) as Caroline give us an insight into the mysterious nature of the movie as well as the extent of her involvement in the priceless story. The ever alluring Caroline is famed for being the Final Girl Vanita ‘Stretch’ Brock in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel. But for me she stands out for her beliefs that women are never the exploited gender in modern horror cinema.
JEN and SYLVIA SOSKA are the sensational duo renowned for their signature warped storytelling and thought-provoking indie horror gems. Their brilliance is evident in their upcoming feature “American Mary” where they promise new forms of mutilations to make your skin crawl. Turning Plastic Surgery on its head in the darkest form possible, this film has all the nastily riveting ingredients of a Cult Classic that could easily garner similar adulation in the same vein as say “Ginger Snaps”. Personally speaking, the Soska Twins have be lauded incessantly for roping in one of the coolest actresses on the planet, “Ginger Snaps” Star Katharine Isabelle to headline “American Mary”. We already know she’s starring as the surgeon whose idea of perfection will be bizarrely unorthodox so expect depravity from the minds of the insanely talented Soska Sisters!! The amazing pair are also known for being the heart and soul of “Dead Hooker In A Trunk”, writing, directing, producing, acting and even doing the stunt work for this impressive Grindhouse Original. Even with a low budget, the Soska Twins prove that they have an eye for unpredictable, breathtaking terror in the process becoming much loved emerging visionaries of horror. Enter their macabre world at the TWISTED TWINS PRODUCTIONS OFFICIAL SITE.
“Dead Hooker In A Trunk” is already released in the UK and Australia as of May 23rd and Sylvia Soska has highlighted that the DVDs are a sell-out on Amazon UK. Makes you wanna get one copy quickly too so I hope the distribution extends to Asia! Not only are the Soska Twins virtuosos of their craft, they are the nicest gals many can’t wait to meet. I only recently got in touch with Sylvia Soska through Facebook and what can I say, her humble nature is quite the attractive trait…:) That’s on top of her invitingly foxy beauty which also applies to her sister Jen Soska. Geniuses Of Gore would be an accolade I would bestow on them for giving fans some of the most wicked moments of dark-humored horror that confounds and titillates.
She may be keeping a low profile but horror fans are fulsome in their praises for DANIELLE JONES after watching her gutsy performances in “Sweatshop” and “Possum Walk”. Gritty indie “Possum Walk” will be screened at Texas Frightmare and another thriller “Jacob” which DANIELLE has a supporting role are both being unleashed as part of the Texas Frightmakers Showcase. “Sweatshop” created a memorable villain in ‘THE BEAST’, monstrous maniacal welder who brandishes a gigantic hammer and gleefully thump Goth ravers to a bloody pulp. It also brought to our attention some of the most delectable horror hotties such as Melanie Donihoo, Julin, Ashley Kay, Krystal Freeman and DANIELLE JONES, featured actress of the day. As the character Kim, she goes from book-wormish nervousness to sheer terror becoming a victim of ‘THE BEAST’ in a vomit-inducing body-smashing scene that left her lower body in bloody tatters. Seeing her trying to crawl to safety with only her upper torso intact was disturbing. Don’t forget that she’s at her sexiest best early in the film (see video above) proving just how seductive she can be. Found out that ‘THE BEAST’ is played by Jeremy Sumrall who is also the director of “Possum Walk” and I salute him for roping DANIELLE into his enthralling project.
Just read an article online that the entire cast of “Possum Walk” has been dubbed as professional, dedicated, and serious actors; Stoked that they’ve came up with the title ‘Girls Of Possum Walk” referring to DANIELLE and her female co-stars so I’m not the only one who has the hots for her…:) If you need any more reasons to develop a crush on blondes, look no further as the very buxom cutie DANIELLE JONES is destined to win you over. She’s already immortalized in the comic book “Sweatshop: Hide ‘N Shriek” and despite preferring to be under the radar, it’s the things she does on film that’s captivating in the purest form.
