Rising Starlet: Katy Foley

If it’s her alluring green eyes that have got you hooked then KATY FOLEY can certainly do so for hours on end. Have you seen her in the music video “My Apology” (above) by Aussie Singer/Songwriter Penny Hewson? Her appearance is one of haunting captivation befitting the ethereal texture of the melody and I have to say the vid is a new addiction for me (brings back memories of my fascination with Cocteau Twins). KATY is in her element as the song reaches its climax, her pained expression towards the end is so beguiling. In addition, she’s heating up the red carpet at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival with the premiere of her comedy short “Hairball”. She plays Clarissa who is seemingly the perfect blind date until the man who a thing for her discovers some unusual flaws of the physical kind. Let’s just say it’s sort of a hairy situation between the two lovebirds! The quirky performance by KATY should warrant a wave of adoration from indie fans.

That warrants a visit to the KATY FOLEY OFFICIAL SITE where you can view more of her videos. KATY can be sexy, funny and also display varied nuances in her performances with the impact being a sustained interest. Enthralling her way into our hearts is on the cards and we can’t wait for more. I’m due an interview with this up and comer of the film industry, so watch this space for more on the very lovely Miss Katy Foley…:)

Rising Starlet: Liesel Kopp

Continuing the Shriekfest Hottie Fever is the lovely Liesel Kopp who this Saturday, Oct the 6th will win us over with her leading lady role in the indie ghost story “Revenant”. Plugging the work of one as sweet-looking as Liesel is essential and she shines in the tense frightener as Stella, the girlfriend of a writer who is desperate to experience a haunting as the inspiration for his new novel. Apparently this is no ordinary haunted house tale as the film introduces several elements not seen before in such features. Guess you’ll have to attend Shriekfest for the screening to find out! Blue eyes are indeed addictive and Liesel has a glittering pair that are as ravishing on print as they are onscreen. It makes you want to visit the LIESEL KOPP OFFICIAL SITE to take tour of her filmography and she does have a collection of videos for captive viewing.

In one of her interviews, she has this to say: ‘I’m always happy when I get cast in anything. And then on top of that, when it’s horror, it’s just a little extra icing on top.’ On that proclamation alone, Liesel may just be making waves as one of the promising talents on the indie horror front. You may have spotted her in the chilling festival favorite “Entrance” and the serial killer/zombie mash-up Die-ner (Get It?). While Liesel is a versatile actress, her partiality to all things dark and terrifying is going to get her recognized as a darling of the genre.

P.S. Thank you to the vivacious Liesel for sending me her more (in her eloquent words) glamour-y and/or horror-y photos specially for this feature. Don’t you think blood looks mighty fine on her…:)

SIFF 2011 Hottie Special: Indie Princess Sarah Hagan

Ahh….the feeling of friendship and love is a wonderful thing and experimental film “Jess + Moss” has a telling sentimental vibe that’s presented in a unique style. Notable Images of the cassette tape at the beginning of the trailer (above) I’m sure brings back some vivid nostalgia of our childhood. The film’s indelible premise of two carefree souls on a journey of discovery is driven by actress SARAH HAGAN who is divine in the role of Jess, the 20-something looking for solace after being abandoned by her mother. This leads to a bond with her cousin Moss, a 12-year old whose life is in a funk just like her. You might recognize SARAH as the cult figure Millie Kentner on “Freaks & Greeks” and also Amanda, ass-kicking Vampire Slayer from “Buffy”. SARAH has indicated that she’s very proud of the film and why not seeing how she has garnered numerous plaudits for her moving performance. With those gorgeous blue eyes, adorable voice and interesting likability, she’s someone you’ll be fawning over in no time. With SIFF 2011 now in full swing, “Jess + Moss” which screens Saturday the 21st is your best chance to watch the ethereal SARAH HAGAN dazzle.

If you go over to the SARAH HAGAN OFFICIAL SITE, you will find it’s also a portal showcasing her creative side with an impressive collection of original artwork in addition to her movie-related stuff. I urge you to check out her ‘Ultimate Fighter” impression in the bittersweet short film “Someday We Will Get Married” (above), a tale of first love that doesn’t always end up being your eternal love. I’m captivated by how beautiful she looks in pretty much every scene, excelling in a romantic capacity as she has so often does with those distinctive ‘Geeky’ incarnations she’s brought to life. From established TV Starlet to rising indie darling, SARAH is a good-natured talent who more than takes your breath away.

Hot Actress #480 – Jean Louise O’Sullivan: Rising Starlet

 alt=  alt=

JEAN LOUISE O’ SULLIVAN has that magical essence of cool that’s unmissable. Whether on the screen or on print, she makes our head spin, reminiscent of a classic beauty in a ‘Gwen Stacy’ kind of way. I wouldn’t mind if Emma Stone dropped out of “The Amazing Spider Man” and was replaced by Miss JEAN….hehe. Check her out in her audition video (above)….so interestingly beautiful, she could easily embody a character from any era….come to think of it, if there is an opening to be on “Mad Men”, she definitely has the fashionable look to fit right in..:) While we are all fantasizing about that, lets hope she’s the Final Girl in the haunting “Welcome To The Bates Motel”. Thanks to her posting the trailer (above) on FACEBOOK, I got a fantastic peek at this indie thriller shot on location at the world famous Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride in Gradyville, Pennsylvania which just amps up the mystery and intrigue! One of the famous quotes from Norman Bates was “I’m sure they’ll be very interested about what’s going on here” and I’m sure Psycho fans can’t wait to see Bates Motel return to celluloid glory. Wondering whether I could score a I Pissed Myself at the Bates Motel T-shirt!

Even though it’s not your archetypical Janet Leigh part this time round, JEAN makes for one nubile leading lady of horror…will there possibly be a shower scene?? On television, she was striking as innocent Brittany Mitchell in the sexy spoof of teen dramas “Valley Peaks”. On film, after appearances in SXSW 2010 fav “The Myth Of The American Sleepover” and the upcoming sci-fi mind bender “Inhabitant”, chances are she’s likely to be the next Indie Sweetheart.
