Kate Kelton is a regular fixture on the Actress Obsession Blog precisely because she’s magnificently eye-catching. Revolutionizing an array of looks in her career, her latest is one to remember where she’s the femme fatale alongside the funny Eddie Izzard in “Bullet In The Face”. They’re the perfect match, volleying tirades at each other and even gets entangled in fight scenes. There’s elements of Kill Bill and at times larger than life comic book characters, reminding me that Sin City has descended on television. It’s a stroke of genius to have the enticing Kate Kelton on board this amazingly darkly-humored new series.

When it comes to good writing and casting, one can always depend on Mindy Kaling. In her new show “The Mindy Project”, Dana Delorenzo plays a self-assured Jersey Girl who is indifferent to Mindy, always knows where the cool parties and carries a torch for one of the leading man. It’s going to be mighty interesting to see how the relationship between these two gals evolve. Dana of course is well known as an Amy Winehouse impersonator with her tribute band House Of Wineshouse. Now she steps into the spotlight with a role that could turn her into one an emerging starlet everyone should starting talking about.

Her sensational entrance into the world of “True Blood” as Lilith is as breathtaking as it is bloody. Kudos to British actress Jessica Clark for going all the way and full frontal in portraying a majestic force of the Vampire Goddess. As she has shown previously on the TV drama “Chemistry”, she has the confidence to carry a scene that requires nudity and Jessica does indeed have a lithe, alluring figure to enchant a generation of viewers. Just like how she hypnotized the legion of vamps including Bill Compton and Eric Northman, so will this exotic temptress sizzle in the coming months.

Betsy Rue as the Super Heroine Libra in “Femme Fatales”

She’s already been irresistible once before in the horror flick “My Bloody Valentine” and now Betsy Rue turns everyone on yet again as the costumed vigilante Libra on “Femme Fatales”. This Blonde Bombshell does look super hot in the body-hugging super heroine outfit and Besty can certainly deliver all the right moves. If they are working on choosing the sexiest women list for 2012, Miss Betsy is deserving of a spot on it. Not only is she overwhelmingly saucy, she’s also known as one of the nicest actresses to talk with, proving her desirability on all fronts. We can’t wait to watch her sizzle our world in the near future!

Rising Starlet: Jessica Whitaker

Ever since Katie Holmes embodied the quintessential girl next door Joey in “Dawson’s Creek”, we’ve always held an undying fascination for cuteness and actress JESSICA WHITAKER radiates with a similar purity. Just like Katie, Jessica also hails from the state of Ohio…indeed they both have gorgeous genes! That doesn’t mean she can’t turn on the sexiness once in a while as she did belly-dancing (above) in the horror romp “Killjoy 3″. JESSICA plays Sandy who gets plunged into the world of the demonic clown-faced Killjoy and has to save her skin by means of seduction. One can see JESSICA had fun sashaying her flawless body and for me the most memorably amusing part was when as Sandy, she revealed to Killjoy that she’s a virgin hence sealing the tempting act. Check out the behind the scenes video (also above) of that “love-making” scene plus interview snippets with the lovely JESSICA. She’s an absolute sweetheart and interestingly enough, everything was filmed in China. Harking back to the good old days when horror didn’t take itself too seriously or populated with emo kids and having JESSICA as the heroine was wonderfully apt! She’s massively easy on the eyes and I love that she’s allowed the license to be playful.

JESSICA does traverse the horror route once more in suspense thriller “The Guest” which was an official selection at several festivals last year and stars Alyshia Ochse (i’m doing up a feature on her soon too). She’s also in a series of dramatic shorts, one of which is “Grass Is In Never Greener”. So fetchingly serene, it’s easy to get ourselves infatuated with her. In the prosperous arena of independent films, keep a watchful eye on the beautiful JESSICA WHITAKER whose flourishing talents are not too be missed.

Unofficially Summer arrived in the US with Memorial Day Weekend so it’s time to get excited as Dances With Films 2011 will showcase the most mesmerizing indie princesses. What better than to thrust Ford Model/Actress GINGER PULLMAN into the limelight especially since she’s appearing in “The Millennium Bug” which is making its World Premiere at Dances With Films. If you’re a fan of the Korean Hit “The Host”, this suspenseful movie will be right up your alley mashing the classic monster scares with servings of Hillbilly mayhem we as horror fans have been voraciously devouring over the years. GINGER plays Pearlene, the femme fatale of the sadistic Crawford Clan who may be the villains of the piece but even they can’t hold a candle to the terror that’s erupting from beneath!! It’s amazing to see GINGER’s character evolve as survival becomes the ultimate priority and the trailer (above) has more than enough chills; A delightfully Deviant Indie Creature Feature With Lots Of Bite! Early pics of GINGER in a blood-covered white dress cutting quite the menacing figure suggest we’re in for some freaky fun. GINGER is also known for being a sexy vampire killer in the popular web series “Vampire Killers” and even in this thriller, there’s an unexpected twist!! It’s gratifying to see that the drop-dead gorgeous GINGER has essayed roles that tiptoe on the side of good and evil, keeping everything rather interesting. There’s early buzz that GINGER will be in MTVs scripted horror/comedy series “Death Valley” about an Undead Task Force tasked to rid San Fernando Valley of some unwelcome zombies, vampires and werewolves. Whether she’s a heroine or a villainess, rest assured this pin-up blonde is on hand to make you tingle…:)

When I first saw her in “Halloween” being downright flirty and dirty, I knew I would be forever hooked on the immensely luscious Kristina Klebe. Even though her calling has been horror, she keeps things interesting by essaying TV Roles as well as dabbling in comedies and romantic dramas. If you want a kicks ass zombie killing action heroine, Kristina pulls out all the stops in “Zone Of The Dead” which is screening on May 14th. Call her the excellence of elegance..:)

Katie Bearden in “Monomaniacal”

Festivals and conventions are regularly an awesome experience as we get a chance to watch some of the best emerging actresses on show. Katie Bearden may be a newcomer but she already fulfills the exciting promise of a blossoming indie horror talent. Check out the twisted short film “Monomanical” for her strenuously intense portrayal of a woman fleeing for her life from a killer. Katie was so wonderfully convincing, she left me on the edge of my seat as the eponymous Final Girl.

Texas Frightmare Hottie Special: Rising Starlet Molly Dunsworth

Frightmare has indeed invaded Texas and although it’s Canadian visionary, Jason Eisner, the director of “Hobo With A Shotgun” taking center stage, featuring the film’s leading lady MOLLY DUNSWORTH right here is just as fascinating. I was rooting for her prostitute character Abby throughout the violent allegory of hopelessness that is “Hobo With A Shotgun” where evil reign supreme until one homeless vigilante had the balls to fight back. It’s great to see two redeeming figures played by Rutger Hauer (Hobo) and MOLLY DUNSWORTH (Abby) in the face of all the brutality by way of ice skates, shotgun and baseball bats, carnage not limited to exploding heads! Only now do I know that sick psychos look strangely like Tom Cruise on meth! Although seeing the dazzling Molly posing with those armored heavies of The Plague (above) has me hoping for a sequel…:) Molly is super appealing so you can understand why any man would want to be her knight in shining armor or in this case a vagrant with a serious case of pump gun madness! From almost being killed several times to having her hand mutilated to the bone and even in the quieter, reflective moments, Molly is a sight to behold and when it comes to the final act, vigorously empowering her transformation into an action heroine.

Thanks to the rise of homages to exploitation flicks that reached notoriety with Death Proof/Planet Terror, we get to discover future stars and Molly has already made her mark in only her first starring role…WOW! On TV, Fans of the supernatural series “Haven” will know that she was Vickie, a young lady with a gift or should I say ‘Curse’ to maim people with her drawings in the episode ‘Sketchy’. Fervor and adoration will pour in for MOLLY DUNSWORTH as we become acquainted with this charming Canadian starlet. London, Ontario residents will get to see her in the flesh at the horror/exploitation festival Shock Stock.

Hot Actress #498 – Anita Briem: Euro Vixen

The divine Icelandic Princess Cometh! That’s how considerable of an impact ANITA BRIEM is making in 2011 and beyond. She’ll tug at your heartstrings in “You, Me & The Circus” where the trials of love play out in the midst of a musical. Also on her plate, she is one of the unfortunate occupants trapped in a lift and facing death in the claustrophobic thriller “Elevator” that reminds us of M. Night Shyamalan’s “Devil” but without the HORNY ONE creating mischief. By now, ANITA is recognizable as the tough heroine Elizabeth in the heavily criticized comic book adaptation “Dylan Dog”. The film was never replicating the surrealistic morbid tone of the comics so it’s going to be quite the gamble appeasing rabid fans. On the other hand, we are treated to the wonders of ANITA BRIEM who’s a dainty mix of hippie wild child and European chic. And where else can you get to see a reunion of ‘Superman’ (Mr Brandon Routh) and ‘Jimmy Olsen’ (the wacky Sam Huntington of Being Human fame) tag teaming their way past zombies, vampires and denizens of the night. Granted I can’t help noticing the cheesiness of the trailer with some labeling the movie a tad too harshly as a big budget “Sharktopus” (the infamous SyFy Creature Feature). That doesn’t mean “Dylan Dog” is devoid of amusing bits but time will tell if audiences lapped it up!

Meanwhile let us relish the petite firecracker that is ANITA BRIEM as she exhibits her worth as Iceland’s ‘IT’ Girl and most admired export. These are exciting times since we’ve seen the meteoric ascendancy of Swedish talents in Hollywood and now the dawn of Icelandic actresses is upon us. ANITA’s doggedness and determination is to be commended for she once had to go through a grueling 25 auditions before she finally landed a role! She most definitely has the staying power to become a cinematic mainstay for a great number of years.

Seeing stunt woman extraordinaire and actress TAMMIE BAIRD swinging on those gymnastics ring in a bikini is to be treasured..:) One of the toughest woman in the business, she’s been body doubling in some of the best action set-pieces on film and television. Honestly I worry for her sometimes as she has those serenely gorgeous features which bear the brunt of those heavy knocks and blows. Don’t mess with her though…hehe….she gives as good as she gets as demonstrated from her recent work in NCIS: ‘LOS ANGELES’, ‘DEXTER’ and ‘SONS OF ANARCHY’. It’s time they give her a TAURUS AWARD for her exceptional stunt career. Tammie is an unsung heroine that deserves immediate plaudits and that’s why i celebrate her today. Hot Actress # 143 – BETSY RUE: BLONDE BOMBSHELL

She’s responsible for the most gratutiously explicit moment in the year 2009! ‘MY BLOODY VALENTINE’ starlet BETSY RUE’s 10-minute romp in the buff went from racy to titillating and finally terrifying propelling her straight into Horror Vixen territory. What better way than to honor the sexy star by launching 2010 with this feature on BETSY RUE. I have to say that ‘MY BLOODY VALENTINE’ made a killing at the box office in part due to the memorable BETSY RUE full frontal scene. Let me tell you i was shocked at first but immediately acknowledge that the human body is to be appreciated be it in cinema or real life and BETSY has set some high standards when it comes to onscreen mainstream nudity. I wholeheartedly salute her bravery to shed her inhibitions for this role. She has undeniably stamped her mark on cinema and now we shall never forget the name BETSY RUE.

I also adore her because she’s down-to-earth and so pleasant to her fans. Betsy oozes sexiness from every pore and one heck of a sizzler! Already impressive as a TV Siren, Scream Queen and Sex Bomb, BETSY will be the ultimate temptation as she heads a clique of groupies in her upcoming thriller. Watch the trailer for the blood-soaked, rock band fatal obsession tale GROUPIE. Actually i have a feeling, BETSY has already garnered her own real-life groupies who are fantasizing over her as we speak. Her appeal is so infectious, it’s taking her places and she’s looking to prosper in the horror/thriller genre with 4 more bewitching lead roles.
