From theater to indie features, there’s noteworthy moments by which JANET ULRICH BROOKS often will leave audiences and reviewers enamored. Described as being highly watchable, JANET’s spot on delivery of an assortment of characters has seen praise coming from within and outside the industry. Be it employing a foreign accent or navigating the challenges of portraying varied expressions, she’s done it all and at the same time held our attention. At the Hollywood Reel Indie Film Festival, she appears in “One Small Hitch”, a tale of unexpected passion between 2 childhood friends who try to fake a wedding engagement. Seeing how comedy is her forte, she’s certainly part of some funny moments on film and if you get a chance to see her onscreen, marvel at her flair as an entertainer. In “I Heart Shakey”, she does play up the qurkiness as a dictatorial manager Estelle Willinger who is a stickler when it comes to pets at her property.
If you’ve seen Glenn Close as Cruella De Vil, JANET’s interpretation of the villain in the family comedy is larger-than-life and eccentrically fascinating. JANET has a colorful and impressive career thus far, a true-blue talent on stage as well as the features she’s been in…:) Having signaled her intention to meet me in future, I wouldn’t hesitate to take her up on the offer.

Insanely Sexy and exceedingly sweet are two facets identifiable in the ravishing Tara Cardinal who will fire up our imagination with her role as Gaia in “Liberator”. Especially since she gets to brandish her array of superpowers and faces the original Incredible Hulk Lou Ferrigno who is the titular Liberator, a disgraced superhero who is targeted for assassination. In addition to her ass-kicking role, she will soon up the action ante in “Legend Of The Red Reaper” as a demon-hunting warrior out for vengeance. Add to that, her appearance alongside Eric Roberts in the thriller “Spreading Darkness” and we have a starlet on the path to prominence.

Her angelic presence in the Bryce Dallas Howard directed melancholic piece “When You Find Me” would make Marianna Palka instantly memorable. She’s perfectly ethereal in her representation of the mother for whom 2 women with contrasting feelings reminisce over their loss in a dream sequence when they were kids. If ever there was an actress born to be an indie sweetheart it would be the willowy beauty Marianna. Sundance, Bafta, Newport Beach are just some of the film Festivals where her impeccable onscreen work has been more than well-received. Be prepared to be wowed over and over again…:)

In the comedy short “Anti-Muse”, the eternally cute Lauren Lakis stars as Jules, a depressed girl who instills a sense of positivity in a man who is prepared to take his own life. Viewers will soon be acquainted with her irresistible appeal on either side of the lens as Lauren is truly bewitching in every sense of the word and her reel (above) is a must-watch. Most would agree she has genially, inviting features and it’s apparent Lauren has been ever present on this blog, more so when she’s so lovable in person. She even gave me a shout out on my facebook page and featuring her is my way of showering her with love in return.
Indie Queen: Stephanie Jones

There are some actresses who can easily keep you enthralled and STEPHANIE JONES has done so in a variety of genres. From her intensity as a dying mother in “Ticket To Hell” to her award-winning performance on the web series “Good Job, Thanks”, STEPHANIE is able to weave bursts of drama or comedy by encapsulating the raw emotions associated with such roles. She has taken on both extremes be it the light-heartedness of playing an edgy casting director and the turmoil of a woman who is gravely ill. In the dark comedy “Good Job, Thanks, STEPHANIE showcased her perfect comic timing and shines with such entertaining sassiness. The sharp persona of Linda Livingston-Black was fitting for her and she shone in every episode. The Hollywood Film Festival 2012 selection “Find Me” does have her in a supporting capacity where we can see more from her.
STEPHANIE’s fascinating smile is one of her beautiful assets and it means you have to check out more of her videos at the STEPHANIE JONES OFFICIAL SITE. There are times when the discerning viewer will find she has an inherent foxiness and that’s something we are all attracted to…:) It’s also a thrill to know STEPHANIE has been an astrologer for 35 years ever and having been at a reading by one practitioner recently, I’m inclined to one day let her read my fortune. What is foreseeable is the adulation that will be coming STEPHANIE’s way.
Rising Starlet: Joanna Ke

Strikingly exquisite is how I would exemplify JOANNA KE and having come across photos of her at the premiere of “Find Me” at the Hollywood Film Festival 2012, she’s 100% beguiling. The industry needs more stunning, diverse faces like hers and when she graced the red carpet alongside Cristen Irene, another actress who I admire, it exhibited her passion for the independent scene. I first saw her in the horror flick “The Crypt” where she was part of a beautiful group of thieves hoping to cash in on jewelry hidden in the catacombs underneath their hometown. Of course they find out there’s a deadly price to pay with ghouls demanding their version of deathly repayment for the sacrilege. Notable as the panic-stricken tomb raider Adriana, JOANNA acquitted herself competently in the role.
A visit to the colorful JOANNA KE OFFICIAL SITE will let you into her world where she confidently pulls off a variety of looks. Having been in the spotlight as a model before her transition into acting, JOANNA’s exotic seductiveness is evident. Can you believe she was once too shy to step in front of the camera? We glad she did and one of her higher profile projects was in the Lifetime television miniseries “Maneater” opposite Sarah Chalke and Leisha Hailey. With Joanna now producing & writing her own projects, the very comely multi-faceted actress is blossoming along nicely…:)
Captivating Starlets @ Hollywood Film Festival 2012: Part 1

It’s been a while since I’ve given plaudits towards a British/Irish sweetheart and Rosie Fellner has a graceful magnetism certain to make us smile. Hearing how she loves being part of telling great stories is why she’s often regarded as being compelling onscreen. Rosie’s appearance in the thriller “Two Jacks” opposite Sienna Miller and Danny Huston should give ample time to digest her beguiling versatility and guess what she actually plays Lily, an American in the film. Having seen pics of Rosie on the set of “Two Jacks”, she has a seductive edge, adding to the allure she can so easily depict so Rosie’s got my vote…:)

Hannah Levien is in a string of interesting features which will have steadily see her becoming prominent in the eyes of viewers. She has a starring role in “The Devout”, a grim short set during the plague-filled years when the Black Death caused pestilence around the world. Her wonderfully emotive performance as Emery, one of 2 saviors whom a medieval English village turn to after long besieged by a creature. Putting herself in conflict with her preacher brother, it’s science vs the word of god to provide much-needed redemption. She’s yet another wonderful talent from Australia and one with lots of enchanting presence.

Her gift for playing a myriad of female personas is definitely worthy of adoration. While she is regularly seen on TV either in hit shows or as a host on several programs, she’s been entertaining in indie features as well. In “Thriftstore Cowboy”, a gritty cowboy flick she’s Trish Shelton, a southern bartender who is seemingly down on her luck but there’s a tough streak underneath that gets her through the day. It’s got a great ensemble of characters and Kinga has the foxy appeal to instill a wave of excitement. With her capacity to take on strong roles with a semblance of fragility, Kinga is going to be intently watched and desired.

America Young and Alyshia Ochse are two shining examples of actresses who are mesmerizing as they are a delight in their own right. While we are deprived of a trailer for “Lost Purpose” where both are in supporting roles, both America and Alyshia are dazzling our world on a number of platforms. Alyshia was the beautiful ‘Woman In White’ on the popular soap “General Hospital” while America is intriguing the web domain with her fun series “Geek Therapy”. There’s surely one word that best represents these two talented ladies whose names start with “A” and that is Amazing…:)
Blonde Bombshell: Alexandra Fulton

Platinum blonde ALEXANDRA FULTON is more than capable of stirring our hearts and loins. This pixie beauty possesses the old world Hollywood glamor very much in the vein of past actresses such as Lana Turner and her contemporaries. Of course, she emanates an offbeat yet funky vibe that’s all her own. Back in 2008, she starred in the comedy short about sex and yoga titled “Orgasm” which was also her directorial debut film and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in France. Fulton played Daisy, a skeptical woman engaged in a colorful erotic fantasy about her handsome yoga teacher David. It that isn’t enough to arouse your curiosity, her appearances in 2 high-profile films this year will. Drama “The Chicago 8″ will see her in retro fashion harking back to the days of the anti-war movement in 1968. The she joins the star-studded female cast of romantic comedy “Slightly Single in L.A.”
Chances are we’ll be seeing ALEXANDRA blossom and she’s more than able to enthrall the masses. Keep up to date with her exploits at the ALEXANDRA FULTON OFFICIAL SITE. She’s also no stranger on the independent scene with an upcoming feature “What If People Die” in the works. With her eye-catching smile and enticing eyes, I reckon she would thrive in a TV series such as “Mad Men” or “Pan Am”, ALEXANDRA’s nostalgic allure being quite the desirable trait. Watch out for her as this delectable up and comer has the nascent charms to make it big!

She’s the original ‘Kickstarter’ who celebrated horror at a time when festivals were few and far between back in 2001. As a Horror devotee, I feel blessed to be touched by such an influential figure in the genre and it’s with great pleasure to present this interview with the vivacious DENISE, a gorgeous visionary hugely deserving of the moniker as a FIRST LADY OF HORROR.

Q & A WITH HIGH PRIESTESS OF HORROR DENISE GOSSETT
1. Hi Denise. First off, Congrats on the the 11th Edition of Shriekfest Film Fest. What can audiences expect this time around and how has Shriekfest contributed to the horror scene over the years?
A: They can expect more of the same, awesome indie films from around the world…we have US film, films from Australia, England, France, Germany, Brazil, New Zealand, etc. I think Shriekfest has contributed by helping get the word out about indie horror and we’ve helped people get their projects made, distribution, agents, etc.
2. There’s an intriguing list of films guaranteed to make us Scream at Shriekfest 2011. What’s the selection process like and would it help if we were chummy with you (truthfully now!)?
A: Does not help to be chummy….actually many of my friends were rejected this year…we have over 40 judges and it’s a long, thought out process.
3. It’s amazing to see sci-fi as well as comedy features scheduled for our viewing pleasure. Why do u think it’s important to maintain that diversity even at an established horror festival?
A: It helps break up the gore, plus there are talented filmmakers in all genres.
4. Everyone adores you for your gregariously warm nature and for being an awesome Scream Queen. Tell us who have been your favorite actors and how have they inspired you?
A: Aww, you are very sweet, but I don’t really consider myself a scream queen…haven’t done enough horror for that. I love lots of actors, all your typical oscar winner actors, but I also love the indie actors as well. I’ve made some amazing friends over the years.
5. I also read that you’re also been anointed as an Indie Sex Symbol. How did that come about and in your opinion, what is the true meaning of Being Sexy?
A: Ah, Haren, that was appointed by you my friend! The true meaning of being sexy is: loving life, loving yourself, and doing what you love.

6. You are in the book “Hot & Horryifying: The First Ladies Of Horror” which is absolutely amazing. What does it mean to be held in admiration for being a mover and a shaker?
A: It blows me away, b/c I just feel like this person who wants to help and I can’t believe the love I get on a daily basis….it’s wonderful!
7. Tell us some of your most memorable moments throughout your career.
A: Working with Mel Gibson, he’s amazing, being a gun slinger in A Chestful of Blood, working with Julia Louis Dreyfus & Christina Applegate…both so great with comedic timing….I could go on and on.
And of course running Shriekfest…for all of it’s hard work, there has been lots of joy too.
8. You’re revered as one of the hardest working women and a genuine maven of horror. When Miss Denise Gossett is not drenched in blood on screen, what does she do for fun?
A: Awww…Haren, you have a way of making me feel so good….thank you! I have a 3 year old little girl and I enjoy playing with her, we go swimming, work in our garden, I also love hiking and spending time with my family and friends.
9. What are your thoughts on the impact of Social Media on entertainment and how has that impacted on the horror genre?
A: Wow…social media still blows me away….it’s allowing indie filmmakers to reach wider audiences and get their talents seen…it’s truly wonderful!
10. To end this interview on a chilling note, what is the one thing that truly scares you?
A: Losing the love of someone I love.
Thank you Haren.
Hot TV Vixens Of Summer Part 5
Megan Duffy in “Torchwood:Miracle Day”
![]() |
Summer might be winding down as we await the advent of Fall but there’s still plenty of gems to catch on TV. Redheads have and will always be a guilty pleasure and in the luscious form of actress Megan Duffy, you’re in for a treat! Her scene-stealing appearance alongside Bill Pullman in the latest episode of “Torchwood: Miracle Day” should justify her glorious onscreen talents. As the coy escort Claire, one has to love how Megan teases, prods and cuts down to size the child rapist Oswald Danes, the consistently excellent Bill Pullman in suitably creepy mode. Her lustrous reddish curly locks proves to be as much a flirtation quality as her kittenish loveliness. I’ll always be fond of Megan for attributing to the increase in viewership of the Actress Obsession Blog by having a link of it on her website. It’s a special gesture from such a wonderful lady.

Makinna Ridgway in “Femme Fatales”
![]() |
Makinna Ridgway was born to play a seductress on “Femme Fatales” as she has all the fine elements of a Brunette Bombshell. Her classic comeliness and enticing radiance as the serial killer Angelica were clear to see in the episode Angels and Demons (above) that includes some very risque scenes. That Makinna has stimulated both our minds and bodies, titillating us with her lissome, graceful figure in that memorable dance sequence is a measure of her ability to turn us on. Check her out in the hilarious clip “Pizza Sex” that has seen her spiced up the digital world albiet of the cerebral kind. Recently I re-connected with her on Facebook and was pleasantly surprised to know that won best actress award for her last film Taylor’s Way. If you’ve been trawling the net, you’ll find there’s been tons of positive response for this smart and immensely sassy beauty.

Brittany Finamore in “Rizzoli & Isles”
![]() |
Sometimes we come across an actress whose magnetism emphasizes how much of an impression she has made in our eyes. Enter Brittany Finamore whose underrated yet absorbing performance in both sequels of “Pulse” at her tender age back in ’08 should really deserve much more credit. She’s no doubt a flawless looker, a ravishing cutie we can’t help but be enthused about and she backs all of it up with solid acting. Brittany’s emotive range as an unfortunate victim of circumstance in a recent episode of “Rizzoli & Isles” is amazing. As a badly beaten rape victim, she convincingly manages to come across as sympathetic enough to make tears well up. This sweetheart can sure take us down the darkest of roads! Young Hollywood is prime to excite with rising starlet Brittany in its corner and there’s plenty more to come from her.

ALLY WALKER in “The Protector”
![]() |
From face value alone, Ally Walker might have a seemingly aloof exterior but she sure has that take charge cougar-ish sexiness. I fondly recall her days on the criminal drama series “Profiler” and she’s as elegantly refined now as she was back then. While many prefer not to be typecast, Ally has always been conversant in delivering the complexities within a character, often showing the heart of a woman’s worth who happens to be on the right side of the law. If it ain’t broke, why fix it and as the leading lady of the newest procedural drama of “The Protector”, she’s reveling in the lighthearted themes of the series, a departure from the more serious tones of say “CSI”. I was rather surprised she got hate mail for her work as the much loathed Agent Stahl on “Sons Of Anarchy” but that’s a sign of how much of an effect Ally can have on audiences.
