Canadian Vixen: Stephanie Mills

 alt=  alt=

Eliciting adoration is easy when one is as fetching as STEPHANIE MILLS who is a successful voice-over artist and a comedic actress. As many can attest, she has a glow so sweet to the eyes and that lovely voice of hers equally charming. After all, STEPHANIE voices Lindsay on the Cartoon Network hit animated series “Total Drama”. A little bit naive and hardly the sharpest tool in the shed, Lindsay is a favorite with fans thanks to the lovable personality STEPHANIE has given to the character. She does the same in her latest series “Seed” albeit this time in the flesh as Zoey, one of two mums of a nine-year-old called Billy. Already one can predict there’s going to plenty of oddball humor and ultimately littered with adorable moments. As I’ve been told by STEPHANIE herself, she’s in full swing of promoting “Seed” and this slacker comedy should thrust her into the limelight.

Stephanie was also recently seen on the Hallmark Channel in the romantic story “Come Dance With Me” as Demi Clayton whose boyfriend (played by Andrew McCarthy) falls for a dance instructor. Now how can we explain the power of love when it’s so unpredictable! I bet there’s gonna be re-run of this film on Valentine’s Day and more opportunities to watch the vivacious STEPHANIE. Don’t mind if I tag STEPHANIE as a vixen even though she’s attained recognition in the genre of comedy and a glance at her foxy pic (above) suggests she could easily embody a lady with feminine wilds on screen. TV Season in 2013 is a highly addictive one when we get to tune in and be enchanted by the fascinatingly sweet STEPHANIE MILLS.

TV Vixens Garnering Buzz This Fall in 2012

Kate Kelton as the Unforgettable Seductress Martine Mahler in “Bullet In The Face”

 alt=
 alt=

Kate Kelton is a regular fixture on the Actress Obsession Blog precisely because she’s magnificently eye-catching. Revolutionizing an array of looks in her career, her latest is one to remember where she’s the femme fatale alongside the funny Eddie Izzard in “Bullet In The Face”. They’re the perfect match, volleying tirades at each other and even gets entangled in fight scenes. There’s elements of Kill Bill and at times larger than life comic book characters, reminding me that Sin City has descended on television. It’s a stroke of genius to have the enticing Kate Kelton on board this amazingly darkly-humored new series.

Dana Delorenzo as the Cool Jersey Girl Shauna DiCanio in “The Mindy Project”

 alt=  alt=

When it comes to good writing and casting, one can always depend on Mindy Kaling. In her new show “The Mindy Project”, Dana Delorenzo plays a self-assured Jersey Girl who is indifferent to Mindy, always knows where the cool parties and carries a torch for one of the leading man. It’s going to be mighty interesting to see how the relationship between these two gals evolve. Dana of course is well known as an Amy Winehouse impersonator with her tribute band House Of Wineshouse. Now she steps into the spotlight with a role that could turn her into one an emerging starlet everyone should starting talking about.

Jessica Clark as the Vampish Lilith in “True Blood”

 alt=

Her sensational entrance into the world of “True Blood” as Lilith is as breathtaking as it is bloody. Kudos to British actress Jessica Clark for going all the way and full frontal in portraying a majestic force of the Vampire Goddess. As she has shown previously on the TV drama “Chemistry”, she has the confidence to carry a scene that requires nudity and Jessica does indeed have a lithe, alluring figure to enchant a generation of viewers. Just like how she hypnotized the legion of vamps including Bill Compton and Eric Northman, so will this exotic temptress sizzle in the coming months.

Betsy Rue as the Super Heroine Libra in “Femme Fatales”

 alt=  alt=

She’s already been irresistible once before in the horror flick “My Bloody Valentine” and now Betsy Rue turns everyone on yet again as the costumed vigilante Libra on “Femme Fatales”. This Blonde Bombshell does look super hot in the body-hugging super heroine outfit and Besty can certainly deliver all the right moves. If they are working on choosing the sexiest women list for 2012, Miss Betsy is deserving of a spot on it. Not only is she overwhelmingly saucy, she’s also known as one of the nicest actresses to talk with, proving her desirability on all fronts. We can’t wait to watch her sizzle our world in the near future!

Indie Princess: Halley Feiffer

 alt=  alt=

HALLEY FEIFFER has already established herself as a captivating starlet and continues to astound viewers with a series of riveting performances. I’m honored and lucky to be able to watch her on film and reading of her interest to be featured on the Actress Obsession Blog is truly special indeed. The posts I’ve written from the first day is a testament to the influence of talented women such as HALLEY and they’re the very reason why this blog was created. There’s sweetness about HALLEY that is layered with fascination awaiting to be discovered by keen eyes. Invited to spend time with a man and his gravely ill wife in “How It Ended”, her portrayal as a flustered young woman is vulnerable and tempting in equal measures. “How It Ended is available now free online through Film Movement, its distributor and this is the perfect opportunity to be mesmerized by Miss HALLEY FEIFFER…:)

If you’ve read the interviews she’s done, HALLEY has a kooky and dirty sense of humor, a genuinely engaging aspect to her personality that she so often exudes be it in her varied roles, on the theater scene or in real life. On her way to becoming a big name herself, she’s starring alongside Paul Rudd and Paul Giamatti in “Lucky Dog” as well as with Jesse Eisenberg in 2 upcoming comedies, she’ll be all the rage in 2012. Also an amazing playwright and producer, HALLEY is segueing into lighter fare as opposed to her earlier dramatic exploits, demonstrating her inviting versatility. Expect a flood of devotion trickling her way in the months ahead.

Indie Princess: Michelle Davidson

 alt=  alt=

It’s an honor to have Emmy Award winning actress/writer/producer MICHELLE DAVIDSON grace this blog for she is an accomplished talent both on and behind the camera. Having already won the Emmy for the web series “The Unreal Housewives of Kansas City” and excelling as a writer, she’s also impressed in several indie features. The latest of which is “Nailbiter” an atmospheric horror tale that will ultimately raise some hell! In the arena of short films, she’s been catching the eye especially in “Ready To Pop” which garnered her a Best Actress in a Comedic Role award. Besides being ever so radiant and humorous as Polly, the pregnant leading lady, she proved her mettle as a director on the very enjoyable dramedy.

Indie Princess: Jennifer Prediger

 alt=  alt=

With the L.A. film fest being regarded as feeling the ‘Love’, let’s fan the flames of affection for JENNIFER PREDIGER who is a wonderfully diverse talent. She will be attending the premiere of her movie “Red Flag” this Friday, June 15th which is already stirring up buzz. Just like she did previously in “Richard’s Wedding”, she’s a scene-stealer once more as River, the stalker of leading man Alex Karpovsky. All charm and delivering the goods on the comic front, JENNIFER is conveying her multi-dimensional guile onscreen. Being a writer, video journalist, director and actress, her brand of storytellng is invariably heartwarming.

Sizzling Cutie – Maddy Curley

 alt=  alt=

MADDY CURLEY is fetchingly adorable, has worked with ‘The Dude’ Jeff Bridges and is well-known as an accomplished gymnast. Now how cool is that! Include the fact that she’s a gregarious blonde and you would know where my affinity lies. In her debut film, the gymnastics comedy Disney’s “Stick It”, she was a scene stealer, displaying her athletic prowess as she goes from timid gymnast to assuredly sassy wonder girl. There should really be a campaign started to get MADDY on Season 3 of “Make It Or Break It” since she has the best of both worlds. Her extensive background as a a gymnast as well as her gifts as an actress would add an interesting slant to what is essentially a spicy TV Series. If you’ve seen the characters she’s played, MADDY is as astute as any at conveying dark humor. Her upcoming feature “Prayer Hour” will see her as a member of the production team trying to propel a struggling televangelist towards richness. Expect sarcasm aplenty as less than honorable intentions become the means to instant fame.

It was a pleasant surprise when she wished me “Merry Christmas” on Facebook knowing how busy actresses can be nowadays. She also recently wrote about how we should always embody the spirit, talent, desire and a never give up attitude! From my own experience on trying to land a job, I concur with the mantra she mentioned for it’s not simplistic to say the road to success has a lot to do with our resoluteness. MADDY herself has a steady stream of appearances on films, television and the web, each time captivating us with her ebullient attractiveness. The spunky charisma she has is driving MADDY to greater heights and as her supporters we wish her the very best.

Digital Vixen: Kim Burns

 alt=  alt=

Every so often we are enamored by the sheer spirit of upcoming actresses and KIM BURNS is one such talent who approaches her craft with a commendable energy. It’s because of her that we get the juicy heads up on her cool, new web series and you’ll see me jumping at the chance to have it in the spotlight. Even though I can’t make it to the Screening Premiere of her entertaining show “The 3xtremes“, taking in the cheeky humor on display from the comfort of my chair is just as gratifying. Furthermore, there’s 3 hot gals to enjoy per episode; KIM is joined by Sophia Zolan and Ketryn Porter with all three providing a bellyful of laughs. Follow their often booze-filled misadventures and missteps on their merry way as eager, aspiring actresses. Here’s snapshots of the adorably zany characters:

Kim Burns is Danielle, a man crazy gal with an inclination for all things sexual yet lives in her very own fantasy world especially when she goes into a drunken stupor. Although seeing her making the finger banging Sex Sound was hilarious!

Sophia Zolan is Sara, the horny one who tends to get in way over her head in some of the more hairy situations. Take the time where in her inebriated state, she proceeds to bang two brothers plus their father and ends up having to sit with each of them at a Thanksgiving dinner…Priceless!

Ketryn Porter is Vanessa, the more sedate of the three who can’t seem to catch a break in relationships with creepy guys gravitating towards her ad nauseum. Not one to jump into bed with any random guy, her exasperation will resonate with many a woman.

There you are, 3 hot mess personalities played by a gorgeous trio on a mission to delight audiences. There’s only one direction Kim Burns, Sophia Zolan and Ketryn Porter can go and that’s all the way to the top. With their impeccable drive and flair for comedy, it’s increasingly likely that success is around the corner for these lovelies.

Must Watch Hotties At The Toronto Film Fest 2011 Part 1

Antonia Campbell-Hughes in “The Other Side Of Sleep” and “Albert Nobbs”

 alt=

As one of her movies, the arthouse “Bright Star” implies, Antonia Campbell-Hughes is all of that, with an acting caliber that’s bound to enchant every time. Two of her films are gracing this year’s Toronto Film Fest; “The Other Side Of Sleep” sees her melancholic interpretation of a sleepwalker expected to receive rave reviews, having already made a sterling impression at Cannes. Antonia also returns to the period drama genre as a lovely young maid in “Albert Nobbs” opposite Glenn Close, unmistakably reveling in this must-see gender bending role. In fact, Glenn’s varied career choices is a point of admiration for Antonia who herself has amassed a diverse body of work. This Irish beauty is no stranger to horror (truthfully absorbing in “The Task”) nor comedy where she rose to fame in British series “Lead Balloon”. Utilizing her own personal experiences, this fashionably delicate actress has crafted richly layered characters we can’t help but pine for!

Greta Gerwig in “Damsels In Distress”

 alt=

She came out of nowhere to ascent the throne of indie queen-dom and former playwright turned in-demand actress Greta Gerwig has not looked back ever since. From partaking in sex scenes and nudity with Ben Stiller in “Greenburg” to sparkling in the micro-budget “Hannah Takes The Stairs”, Greta thrives on having an understated allure yet she has an unbridled radiance that’s impossible to ignore. If one has to make comparisons, she could just be the new Chloë Sevigny! You’ll be smitten with her in “Damsels In Distress” as Violet, the leader of a clique of college girls who decide to teach the new girl in school their socially acceptable ways….could just be this generation’s “Clueless” by the sound of it! Even at 26, she’s utterly believable as a demure teen. In Hollywood, there’s always room for another Greta to take our breath away! The very reality that Greta continues to grace films regardless of its scale speaks of her authenticity as an artist.

Mary Birdsong in “The Descendents”

 alt=

Saw a pic of Mary Birdsong in a frilly bikini and while she’s obviously a minx, Mary manages to inject humor when describing how revealing it was. She may be self-deprecating of her sexiness but we all know she’s a turn on and not just physically! If you’ve read the interviews she’s given, here is a lady with a magnetism of the cerebrally amusing kind. There’s one word that rings true when articulating how eclectic Mary Birdsong is and that’s FUN! It’s as if she’s blessed with that saucy irreverence and punchy humor that’s clearly relatable. Let’s admit Mary was a huge reason why “Reno 911″ became an addictive show thanks to her irrepressible comic timing as Deputy Cheresa Kimball, the alleged closet lesbian story arc being one of the highlights for fans. In the drama “The Descendents”, will she go all serious in those scenes with that handsome devil George Clooney?? It’s a no-brainer that Mary has got us hooked on that wacky yet endearing personality of hers.

Juno Temple in “Killer Joe”

 alt=

She’s been christened A Bright Young Thing, one in the next generation of British actresses destined for stardom and already Juno Temple has her indie cred status cemented. There seems to be a wave of starlets from the British Isles that grows unabated and Juno is bearing all the hallmarks of a top talent. Building a reputation for frank, sensitive portrayals of fragile women as recently seen in “Kaboom” and “Little Birds”. Venturing into the mainstream somewhat, she’s also been roped into Christopher Nolan’s newest Batman venture “The Dark Knight Rises” as Holly Robinson, who will eventually become Catwoman’s protege. Before that, she’s gets dragged into a dangerous liaison of the murderous kind in “Killer Joe” with Matthew McConaughey as the titular assassin who demands collateral in the shape of Juno’s teen character. She’s as potent onscreen as her wild, frizzy blonde hair that’s often been called flower-child enticing!

Beth Grant in “The Artist”

 alt=  alt=

It’s criminal that an actress such as the stature of Beth Grant was left out for the trailer of the movie “The Artist” (above). Granted it’s a supporting role for her but surely her accomplishments over the years warrant a tease of her character at the very least…come on now, The Coen Brothers did sign her up for “No Country For Old Men”…she is that amazing! There’s already people who have seen “The Artist” that are leaving plaudits on her Facebook Page as I am writing this which she totally deserves. One of the most under-rated character actresses, even when the material is not up to scratch, Beth finds a way to rise above and deliver fascinating albeit at times kooky performances. Some of the pivotal scenes in a cult classics such as “Donnie Darko” and the dramedy “Little Miss Sunshine” ensure she’s there to be memorable no matter how fleeting that may be. Away from the camera, Beth is immensely witty and funny, traits that continue to make her one to adore for the longest time.
