A woman of many talents, JULIA GROB has the charm bordering on sincerity we will find most engaging. When the great man himself Kevin Spacey named JULIA as one of 25 emerging theater artists, it’s resonates that’s she’s someone who deserves recognition. She is the creative producer of the comedic web series “East WillyB” which at its core is a multi-layered illustrations of the American Latino community. Julia has chosen to keep it heartfelt, a true reflection of the experiences of Latinos in Brooklyn. This year, you’ll be able to see her returning as the brash Ceci Rivera in the Second Season of “East WillyB”. The outspoken character she plays is a Mexican-Cuban bar waitress with a take no prisoners exterior and might I say she’s a joy to watch. It’s also nice to know her as one of the stars of the film “Calloused Hands” which is screening at the Miami International Film Festival 2013. This is surely the avenue for JULIA to gain even more exposure for the impeccable work she’s done over the years.
She’s been commendable in enlightening us on her Latin identity through her multi-platform pursuits and the JULIA GROB OFFICIAL SITE is where you can keep up with the latest. For her, it’s about trying to find unique situations to explore and she’s adept at fashioning stories from them. Lena Dunham of “Girls” has shown that genuine appeal lies in the heart of a narrative and JULIA could be heading for similar plaudits.
Recognized as one of the most respected actresses of the modern era, YARELI ARIZMENDI has always been at the forefront of Latin cinema. Strong performances in dramas such as “Like Water for Chocolate” and “A Day Without a Mexican” has garnered adulation from all corners. Exuding sexiness as well as class, fans around the globe are bound to be captivated by her for many more years to come.
With today being International Women’s Day, I present the hottest Booth Babes in the world!!
It’s about letting the world know about the most ravishing upcoming starlets and the entertainment biz has come to identify NICOLE WATSON as delectable to a great extent. This stunning actress and international model who hails from Canada has flawless, milky skin that’s as smooth as silk, a highly covetable asset in an industry where beauty is regularly prized. Having modeled for top agencies including Elite and Ford Models, she’s well-traveled with her being the fashionable center of attention across more than 30 countries. This month alone there will be a celebration of two iconic figures, Marilyn Monroe and Vampires; The former via Michelle Williams as Cinema’s Renowned Sex Symbol in “My Week With Marilyn” and the latter by the sensation that is the “Twilight” saga. What better than to feature NICOLE who echoes the much exalted Blonde Pinup Girl so tastefully and coincidentally stars in the new Vampire movie “Shifter“. While she may not be a vamp in this one, she does partake in some strip poker of the tantalizing kind, a testament to her irresistibility I’m sure. The tried and tested formula of Babes and Bloodsuckers have been successful over the decades yet “Shifter” promises a fresh spin on the beloved genre and with NICOLE adding an extra tempting aspect, we can’t wait to catch the film.
NICOLE is someone with an eye on the world at large, a keen supporter of Green Incentives with the vision of incorporating her twin passions for acting and the environment some time in the near future. Brains (in this case her business acumen) and Beauty (the bubbly sensuality we can’t get enough of) are the endearing qualities that will install NICOLE as a performer with a global appeal. Credit to IMDB for having its column on Fresh Faces Of The Week but here, prominence is given unreservedly to hot newcomers everyone should know about, for in MISS NICOLE WATSON beats the heart of a vibrantly, foxy storyteller.
JUICY NEWS just in from NICOLE herself: She has a film showing in Perth Australia right now entitled “Bitter Art” where she’s playing Liza who shoots the man with a rose…sounds mighty intriguing and for the fact she’s ever so sumptuous in a black bikini…yup I happened upon a movie still of her and she’s damn sexy in it…;) She’s also starring in “Olson” which was written and directed by Dylan Avery, the creator of “Loose Change 9/11: An American Coup” that hits the festival circuit this coming year and guess what, she’s a trophy wife on a mission of vengeance. Besotted with NICOLE yet? Well you will be in no time at all!
It’s a Carnival of Horror this weekend as the 11th Edition of Shriekfest which runs from September 29th till 2nd October returns to put the fear in you. Shriekfest founder DENISE GOSSETT has promised a Screaming Good Time as audiences will be treated to the best in independent horror and sci-fi from the world over in all its unrated glory! There’s the opening night screening of Troma Legend Lloyd Kaufman’s “The Feed”, the world premiere of retro thriller “Isle Of Dogs” and a host of bloodcurdling shorts to make your skin crawl.
Plaudits have to be bestowed upon Miss DENISE GOSSETT for generating such buzz for Shriekfest over the years and which now thrives as LA’s Most Successful & Entertaining Horror Film Festival! She’s the original ‘Kickstarter’ who celebrated horror at a time when festivals were few and far between back in 2001. As a Horror devotee, I feel blessed to be touched by such an influential figure in the genre and it’s with great pleasure to present this interview with the vivacious DENISE, a gorgeous visionary hugely deserving of the moniker as a FIRST LADY OF HORROR.
Q & A WITH HIGH PRIESTESS OF HORROR DENISE GOSSETT
1. Hi Denise. First off, Congrats on the the 11th Edition of Shriekfest Film Fest. What can audiences expect this time around and how has Shriekfest contributed to the horror scene over the years?
A: They can expect more of the same, awesome indie films from around the world…we have US film, films from Australia, England, France, Germany, Brazil, New Zealand, etc. I think Shriekfest has contributed by helping get the word out about indie horror and we’ve helped people get their projects made, distribution, agents, etc.
2. There’s an intriguing list of films guaranteed to make us Scream at Shriekfest 2011. What’s the selection process like and would it help if we were chummy with you (truthfully now!)?
A: Does not help to be chummy….actually many of my friends were rejected this year…we have over 40 judges and it’s a long, thought out process.
3. It’s amazing to see sci-fi as well as comedy features scheduled for our viewing pleasure. Why do u think it’s important to maintain that diversity even at an established horror festival?
A: It helps break up the gore, plus there are talented filmmakers in all genres.
4. Everyone adores you for your gregariously warm nature and for being an awesome Scream Queen. Tell us who have been your favorite actors and how have they inspired you?
A: Aww, you are very sweet, but I don’t really consider myself a scream queen…haven’t done enough horror for that. I love lots of actors, all your typical oscar winner actors, but I also love the indie actors as well. I’ve made some amazing friends over the years.
5. I also read that you’re also been anointed as an Indie Sex Symbol. How did that come about and in your opinion, what is the true meaning of Being Sexy?
A: Ah, Haren, that was appointed by you my friend! The true meaning of being sexy is: loving life, loving yourself, and doing what you love.
6. You are in the book “Hot & Horryifying: The First Ladies Of Horror” which is absolutely amazing. What does it mean to be held in admiration for being a mover and a shaker?
A: It blows me away, b/c I just feel like this person who wants to help and I can’t believe the love I get on a daily basis….it’s wonderful!
7. Tell us some of your most memorable moments throughout your career.
A: Working with Mel Gibson, he’s amazing, being a gun slinger in A Chestful of Blood, working with Julia Louis Dreyfus & Christina Applegate…both so great with comedic timing….I could go on and on.
And of course running Shriekfest…for all of it’s hard work, there has been lots of joy too.
8. You’re revered as one of the hardest working women and a genuine maven of horror. When Miss Denise Gossett is not drenched in blood on screen, what does she do for fun?
A: Awww…Haren, you have a way of making me feel so good….thank you! I have a 3 year old little girl and I enjoy playing with her, we go swimming, work in our garden, I also love hiking and spending time with my family and friends.
9. What are your thoughts on the impact of Social Media on entertainment and how has that impacted on the horror genre?
A: Wow…social media still blows me away….it’s allowing indie filmmakers to reach wider audiences and get their talents seen…it’s truly wonderful!
10. To end this interview on a chilling note, what is the one thing that truly scares you?
A: Losing the love of someone I love.
Thank you Haren.
ANGELA LANDIS in “Keeping Up With The Kartrashians”
With two of her features being Official Selections at the upcoming ITVfest 2011, Angela Landis is well on her way to success on the indie front. Her hilariously racy Kardashian family parody “Keeping Up With The Kartrashians” is all the flash just without cash and incredibly Angela plays all 3 Kartrashian Sisters. It’s blonde bimbotic fun with huge helpings of cleavage and often improper conduct by adults…no topic is taboo here as bosom licking and incestuous sisterly lip-lock are the order of the day. How about her turn as single mom Anika in “Milf Money” whose extra-curricular activities to make fast cash involves putting her hands to good use by satisfying men. It’s precisely this unreserved authenticity coupled with comedic chops she regularly depicts on camera that makes Angela so watchable.
ALEXIS ZIBOLIS in “Devanity”
Soaps are proving to be a hit on the web and it’s been a triumphant debut for “DeVanity” which has been touted as being wickedly enthralling. An ITVfest 2011 nomination for Best Dramatic Series wins and Best Indie Soap of the Week for its entire season run is an amazing feat indeed. One such talent on “Devanity” that’s fueling such avid interest is of course Blonde Bombshell Alexis Zibolis who plays the scheming Lara Devanity. A complete opposite of the nasty vixen she is on the series (Alexis is one of the nicest ladies in the industry), it’s fun to watch her portraying such duplicitous evil and just like Alexis once remarked, she wants audience to love hating her…:) The fact is we’ve addicted to her character’s cunning sultriness and acid tongue. Season 2 is already in the works with the addition of Alana Stewart as Lara’s mum…expect double the outrageous bitchiness!
RACHEL RISEN from “Movie Line Trivia”
Sometime an actress possesses the best of both worlds in terms of sweetness and foxiness and that particular lady I’m referring to is Rachel Risen. Your affinity for Rachel is certain to grow stronger every time you see her on the current web series “Movie Line Trivia”…I myself am infatuated with her endearing British accent she employs in several of the episodes. Check out her latest “Stop Thinking About Sex” and this priceless comment “It’s Kinda Hard When I’m Looking at You” by a Youtuber should be more than enough to confirm Rachel’s Sex Appeal. Previously she dazzled as the alluring host of DiGits Declassified, a What Women Want series and she does it again in the 2011 start-up business web series “Leap Year“. It’s a Digital Heaven whenever Rachel’s on the online space and she’s undeniably a goddess…:)
ASHLEY SCHULTZ in “My Roommate”
Ashley Schultz is rapidly making headway especially in the arena of dance and music. This “Chica Bomb” Video Vixen and a member of upcoming international pop act Devee (aka The DVs) is an expert in the art of ‘pop and lock’. Shaking her luscious body for our enjoyment is right up her alley and she does it impressively. Check out her entrancing rhythmic throbbing as she’s the center of attention in the very groovy video “My Roommate The Dancer” (above) from the web series about roomies; Some crazy, some you crave and of course some you might detest! What is certain, Ashley constantly ranks as an actress with the most views on this blog…hmmm…might also have something to do with how stunning she is in a bikini…:) It can be said Ashley has all the right curves and all the right moves to turn us on.
ASHLEIGH HARRINGTON in “The Girls On Film”
The Girls On Film Blog has taken our love of movies and our passion for onscreen hotties to such great heights with webisodes that embrace an unmistakably female flavor. Breathing new life into memorable scenes between men such as those from “No Country For Old Men” and “Fight Club, there’s a decidedly feminine twist that’s though provoking and at the same time offers a fresh perspective. What if those male-oriented scenes were somehow entrusted in the capable hands of female talents? Canadian Ashleigh Harrington, the leading lady in question does superbly in capturing the essence of an actor say Jeremy Remner’s sociopathic criminal from “The Town” only this time with a different magnitude of emotions (watch the clip above). Rest assured, netizens the world over are waiting with bated breath for the next evolution of The Girls On Film.
Come May 19th 2011, Seattle International Film Festival will be the epicenter of visual pleasure that will be colorfully stimulating throughout. Certainly we have to pay tribute to the actresses who in varying capacities are ensuring we fans have a mind-blowing good time. Not since “Fright Night” have Vampires been this audaciously seductive and the leading ladies of “We Are The Night” or “Wir sind die Nacht” (in German) should be commended for bringing Sexy Back! JENNIFER ULRICH for one is a sensation as Charlotte, a silent era movie star with looks to kill and a ruthless appetite for blood. JENNIFER has a priceless scene in “We Are The Night” where she pokers her eye with a lighted cigarette…there’s none of the emo posturing or existential thoughts of being the undead….It’s as true to the immoral vampiric nature as you can get amidst a very addictive Eurodance soundscape complete with throbbing beats. Being a Vamp is all about excess and I love how JENNIFER portrays her sultry Charlotte character with both bloodlust abandon and dignified poise. It’s terrific to see a strong female-fronted movie with women driving the story and doing the majority of the onscreen kills. I urge you to watch German Sirens JENNIFER ULRICH, Karoline Herfurth, Nina Hoss & Anna Fischer in one of the most gorily fun movies of the year! I’m half expecting a Hollywood remake to be churned out pretty soon.
It really doesn’t matter where you live in the world or what language you’re conversant with, JENNIFER like so many of her European peers have brilliantly intimated the enthralling cinematic experience we are so fond of. She’s been lauded once before for her intense performance as a teen who rebels against the ideals of a school cult in “The Wave”. Good-natured and with a heady desirability, it would be fascinating to see JENNIFER crossover to the American Market and achieve the kind of popularity relished by German talents say for example Franka Potente. JENNIFER brings a compelling freshness on the film scene and well on her way to success.
Judging from her red carpet pics at the NYLA Film Fest, NATALIE SUTHERLAND is ever so luminously exquisite. She is of course the star of FUCKEN’ AMERICANS, the dramedy that has a gorgeous Scottish gal searching for her true self after being dumped by her lover. I’m especially stoked they chose to let NATALIE converse in her native Scottish accent which according to some sources is a measure of one’s trustworthiness. Hence she delivers an honest emotion-laden performance (she plays EMMA), noticeably broken-hearted as seen in the sneak peek clip (above)….Hey that’s Melrose Place alum Grant Show opposite her! Akin to a female version of Scottish folk hero William Wallace, her character looks for independence in love on her own fearless terms. Even though she sports a very cool accent, NATALIE’s extensive dialect skills has enable her to take on numerous American roles. She was a CIA Assassin in the episodic actioner “Contigency” and distinguished herself playing the Crazed Sexy Witch Rebecca in indie horror “Birth Rite”. Definitely, “The Craft” started my obsession with FOXY spellcasters and since then the TV Show “Charmed” plus movies like “Practical Magic”, “5ive Girls”, etc. have bewitched me! Watching NATALIE as a Wicca Channeling Vixen means I need to get my hands on a copy of “Birth Rite”….oh I’ve heard that’s a priceless scene of NATALIE stripping off her counselor’s clothes using magic…;)
NATALIE is yet another stirring talent from the British Isles who first blossomed in theater and currently enjoys success as a fabulous indie starlet. See how she never fails to captivate at the NATALIE SUTHERLAND OFFICIAL SITE. Her foray into Hollywood is most certainly welcome as she’s a genuine dazzler onscreen; From her distinctive cherubic cuteness to the way she so vividly articulates the varying facets of the role she’s essaying, warm approval for NATALIE should easily come from all quarters…:)
