Sizzling Cutie: Abby Miller

 alt=  alt=

Every day is a joy in itself when one gets to spotlight a screen honey and ABBY MILLER has the requisite demureness to awaken sentiments of ardor. With her being a Nebraska native, she’s the very first from the famed Cornhusker State to grace the Actress Obsession Blog and she’s a fetching gal indeed. Her invitingly large, brown eyes which wouldn’t be out of place in a Manga comic if ever her likeness is drawn, affirms her eye-catching accessibility. Evidently on TV ABBY shone as meth-addicted prostitute cum snitch Ellen May in Season 2 of “Justified”. Check out the memorable scene of her (above) in a wasted stupor trying her darnedest to seduce Timothy Olyphant’s straight laced U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. By going against the grain for this gritty, disaffected part, ABBY shows she doesn’t just rely on her cutesy appeal. In fact, she even walked the fine line between sympathy and comedy in the episode “The Rejected” of “Mad Men”. Yet again, she excelled as the naive secretary Dorothy who suffers a double blow; Rejection by her boyfriend and being brought to tears at a market focus group. You can watch ABBY in that scene at the ABBY MILLER OFFICIAL SITE plus many more clips of her in fine fettle.

She’s also prolific in the commercials arena, appearing in ads for McDonald’s, Target, Dunkin’ Donuts, Domino’s and American Express. Then there’s her as fascinating vocalist of the folk-pop combo, Jen & Abby; The voice of hers soaring blissfully over the acoustic richness of the bluesy tone echoed in the melodies which have even been featured on the hit show “Gilmore Girls”! Often labeled as having a kittenish virtue and having once remarked once that her attractive eyes are money-makers, we have to agree she’s a real crowd pleaser. I’ve always placed a high premium on sweetness and so should everyone in welcoming upcoming starlet ABBY MILLER.

Sexy Siren: Caity Lotz

By coincidence or not, it seems like a blonde fest so far this week and I’m continuing in the same vein with CAITY LOTZ who has already left men drooling with her tempting Esquire shoot. Be it the sly nipple exposure or the flash of her pert derrière, CAITY has the assets to sizzle! She’s also starring in the upcoming MTV Series “Death Valley” as Kirsten Landry, an excitable Undead Task Force agent and having watched the trailer, she amazed me right from the start with the astounding spinning kick! Beware Vampires, Werewolves and Zombies as you get schooled by the Princess of Hard Knocks. Check out the video (above) of CAITY teaching us how to defend against them pesky Undead horde. This girl can do some seriously high impact stunts including parkour…huge props to her athleticism and flexibility she’s honed through the years as a dancer. After all, she has toured with mega star Lady Gaga and bust those dance moves on the film “Step Up 3D”. Slated to grace the massive 2011 Edition of Comic Con in San Diego, it’s pretty much guaranteed fans will come in droves to the “Death Valley” panel to cast amorous eyes on this blossoming TV Hottie. Have you seen the pic of CAITY pursing her lips…downright Sultry! To be able to combine intense physicality and appealing sauciness is breathtaking so much so I would love to see her in “Kick Ass 2″ be it as a supervillain or an ally of Hit Girl/Kick Ass.

Remember her as Stephanie in “Mad Men”, Anna Draper’s niece who despite her desirable status doesn’t subscribe to the norms of society in the 60s, a time when women were objectified. It’s great to see for once Mr Casanova Jon Hamm unable to get his hands on an enchanting lady. Check out the CAITY LOTZ OFFICIAL SITE for her reel containing snippets of her scenes from “Mad Men” as well as Law and Order:LA. She has the gift for drawing out those subtle yet dramatic moments onscreen. In just a short span of time, CAITY has skyrocketed to be quite the coveted actress and her star will only keep rising!

Indie Queen: Lynn Shelton

 alt=  alt=

She’s been called the heroine of the indie movement and why not! LYNN SHELTON is best remembered as the creative force behind the movie “Humpday” which audaciously uncovers that there is such a thing as dude love between friends. The comedy had a rapturous reception during its run at numerous film festivals and even got a standing ovation at Cannes. Delivering on its premise of going beyond boundaries, the tale of 2 guys entering an amateur porn contest as the two stars is brilliant in its execution. No wonder LYNN won the John Cassavetes Award at Film Independent’s Spirit Awards 2010 adding to her Acura Someone to Watch Award win in 2009 at the same event…WOW!! On those meritorious achievements, Lynn should be lavished with praise for the genius that she is behind the lens. Don’t forget she did shine in the foxiest of ways on camera as the gorgeous bisexual Monica in “Humpday” who has amorous eyes for a threesome! If you want to see her playing yet another enchantingly complex character, be sure to catch the two day screening of “The Off Hours” at SIFF 2011 starting June 6th. In fact, there’s two indie sweethearts for the price of one ticket. Be blown away by the duo of perennial festival darling Amy Seimetz and the equally fabulous LYNN SHELTON who also serves as consulting producer on the film.

Realizing the potential of cinema, the cleverness by which she weaves her intimate stories most notably “Humpday” make for exciting consumption. This Seattle director and actress approaches filmmaking in a rather unique way, preferring to work closely with her cast and allowing each to improvise sans script. No wonder she was tapped to direct Jon Hamm and January Jones in the episode Hands And Knees of acclaimed TV Hit “Mad Men”. Lynn is rapidly becoming a core member of the indie community, an awe-inspiring woman whom everyone will hold in high regard…:)
