HALLEY FEIFFER has already established herself as a captivating starlet and continues to astound viewers with a series of riveting performances. I’m honored and lucky to be able to watch her on film and reading of her interest to be featured on the Actress Obsession Blog is truly special indeed. The posts I’ve written from the first day is a testament to the influence of talented women such as HALLEY and they’re the very reason why this blog was created. There’s sweetness about HALLEY that is layered with fascination awaiting to be discovered by keen eyes. Invited to spend time with a man and his gravely ill wife in “How It Ended”, her portrayal as a flustered young woman is vulnerable and tempting in equal measures. “How It Ended is available now free online through Film Movement, its distributor and this is the perfect opportunity to be mesmerized by Miss HALLEY FEIFFER…:)
If you’ve read the interviews she’s done, HALLEY has a kooky and dirty sense of humor, a genuinely engaging aspect to her personality that she so often exudes be it in her varied roles, on the theater scene or in real life. On her way to becoming a big name herself, she’s starring alongside Paul Rudd and Paul Giamatti in “Lucky Dog” as well as with Jesse Eisenberg in 2 upcoming comedies, she’ll be all the rage in 2012. Also an amazing playwright and producer, HALLEY is segueing into lighter fare as opposed to her earlier dramatic exploits, demonstrating her inviting versatility. Expect a flood of devotion trickling her way in the months ahead.
Compliments such as funny, gifted and inspirational are often bestowed on CHRISTINE BARGER, affectionate nods to her sunny, colorful personality that so often spurs interest. She’s currently charming the online space in an episode of “Meter Maids” (watch it above) as a ventriloquist with grievances towards her two-timing traffic warden boyfriend. Let’s give acclaim to the marionette artistry she possesses, her voice throwing par excellence as are the caricatures she creates. As an actress, she’s infused with a passion that burns bright, distinguishing herself in some of the kookiest roles throughout her career as can be seen in her entertaining demo reel (above).
Since the American Pie Franchise is making its long awaited return in the upcoming incarnation that is “American Reunion”, let’s remind ourselves of some of the memorable characters from the boisterous series. In Beta House, Christine’s mischievous Margie got her freak on by lapdancing in a lamb costume by the poolside and in one of the funniest sex scenes, choked on her gum while riding her boy toy. According to Filmsite.org, her performance is hailed as one of the Greatest and Most Influential in movies with sexual content. Now that we’re familiar with her ability to deliver the laughs in racy roles as well as her cheeky turns in comedic and dramatic roles, we may not have to wait long to have Christine in our viewfinders yet again. She’s presently filming a co-starring part on the 4th Season of “90210″ so before it’s premiere on TV, head over to the CHRISTINE BARGER OFFICIAL SITE for her collection of delightful ventriloquism and screen work. We should be lapping it all up for it’s the unique qualities of the sweet-smiling CHRISTINE that will ensure a much deserved slice of fandom.
RAE LATT is quite the refined charmer and it’s her offbeat loveliness that will have her touching many hearts soon enough. This smily, gorgeous brunette has characterized wide-ranging personas on film, television and the internet, some which you may have come across already. She’s currently in the entertaining “Vamps Next Door”, the web series with an amusing bite, illustrating that ‘The Cullens’ are not the only ones sucking up to audiences! Enter the Tepes Family who try their hand at being human and keeping everything as bloodless as possible (like that’s ever going to happen…hehe). RAE adds a kooky flavor as NANCY FINSTER, the next door neighbor with nosy husband in tow who has no inkling of the bloodlust the Tepes have…the way she eloquently refers to their family name as ‘Tepesh’ is priceless! It’s easy to see why her first love has always been comedy for she’s a natural at depicting understated humor, snagging roles on shows such as “The Office”, “The Wanda Sykes Show” and “Victorious”. This year, she was a guess-starrer on the “Criminal Minds” episode ‘The Stranger’, sharing screen time opposite Mr Cool Joe Mantegna no less and playing a wife whose babysitter gets brutally killed in her home.
Born and bred in Southern California, RAE’s Latin/Eastern European roots gives her a distinctive quality to her attractiveness. The captivating virtues she has are twofold seeing how she’s also a funnywoman and we know how sexy they can be, transcending the physical aspects…:) While her forte lies in comedic roles, her appearance in the 80s-styled slasher “BLOODY HOMECOMING” will see her in much gorier fare. I don’t think we need much cajoling to appreciate this brown-eyed beauty. It might be the month of Breaking Dawn (Twilight Fever yet??) but this is also the time when breakout stars are made and there’s every possibility RAE can achieve such a prestige.
If you’re entertaining thoughts of a Lustful Addiction for RUBY LaRocca just like some Zombie Babies do, you might find her in The Cemetary from a movie scene or two making our Skin Crawl with equal excitement and trepidation. I’ve just named (in bold) some of her riveting features which you must check out if you’re an ardent fan of this Scarlet temptress. Synonymous with the best in sexploitation and kooky horror of the entirely dirty variety, RUBY likens the process of making the aforementioned films (including the nudity) as a fun experience. You might have salivated over that threesome she had with Misty Munday and Darian Cane in “The Seduction of Misty Mundae” or the topless sunbathing in the disturbing Jack Ketchum adaptation “The Lost”, the gorgeous tattoos adorning her body so integral to her sexuality. Her brutal thriller “The Super” is screening at the PollyGrind Film Festival where she plays a tenant incurring the wrath of a wacko neighbor in yet another impactful performance.
At a fest that celebrates grindhouse, exploitation and alternative horror, RUBY is a perfect fit as she’s been at the forefront of the darker side of cinema for quite some time. Erotically charged yet provocative appearances in controversial fare such as “Zombiechrst” and “Face Of Schlock” are likely to push more than a few buttons! Actually red is definitely the color for her and she’s every bit a babe when drenched in blood. Ensure you drop by both the RUBY LaRocca OFFICIAL SITE and the RUBY LaRoccca OFFICIAL BLOG for news on her upcoming blood-curdling projects. What also impresses me is her deep affection for her contemporaries, Debbie Rochon and Tina Krause, both of whom she’s worked with and continually hail. Likewise the tribute she pays to all the RUBY addicts out there who have savored her proving she’s staying grounded even with the successes she’s had. RUBY is one red-hot indie horror princess who has more than proven her worth in front and very soon behind the camera.
Julie R. Ølgaard & Synnøve Macody Lund in “Headhunters”
Julie R. Ølgaard is an award-winning actress who is also one of the most charismatic actresses that have ever graced the Danish Film scene. Formerly a student at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in LA, she returned to her native Denmark and swiftly began dazzling the industry over there. Famed for being the missing woman (the US remake calls her Rosie Larsen) so central in the hit Danish series “The Killing”, Julie has heaps of magnetism that it wouldn’t be inconceivable for anyone to want to rescue her. She’s appearing in the fast-paced heist thriller “Headhunters” screening at Fantastic Fest that promises to be hugely exciting. Fellow Blonde Synnøve Macody Lund is the film’s obvious leading lady who is nude in a number of scenes on her debut. What better than to be mesmerized by this pair of Danish Vixens.

Ashley Bell in “The Day”
She announced her arrival as an intense actress with an emotional tidal wave of a performance in “The Last Exorcism”. As Nell Sweetzer, Ashley Bell’s version of the Linda Blair-like demonic possession dispenses with the pea vomit, opting for a scarred psyche and some astounding back contortions which she gamely performed herself without any CGI! She’s making a habit of being a survivor onscreen be it from The Devil or the horrors of an apocalypse such as in “The Day”. It’s “Mad Max” meets “The Road” as Ashley wields her 9mm Berretta and shotgun in the face of impeding death. The psychedelic rock from “Explosions In The Sky” in the teaser (above) already foretells of the disquiet tension before the storm for this must-see film. Yet another demanding role in which Ashley will evidently ace!

Emma Lock In “The Human Centipede:Full Sequence”
About to play a major part in “The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence”, Emma Lock is destined to achieve cult status by the time this even more controversial sequel ends its run. She’s in the largely British cast who have been tasked to deliver on the ’100% medically inaccurate’ shocks that shook up the genre last year and spawned such a cultural phenomenon (South Park’s Centipad comes to mind)! Emma is a multilingual model/actress of Spanish/Chinese descent with eternally enchanting features. Hailing from West London, she has performed in indie films, theatre productions and has even done voice over work for BBC radio. Have a peek at the teaser trailer of her new thriller Drive-By-Sunset”. Emma is sweetly captivating as there’s a whole lot of sensual intrigue behind her doe-eyes and lively innocence..
Jessica Chastain is proabably getting the plaudits as she has done all year but don’t forget there’s another talented lady in the existential drama “Take Shelter”. Just like the hallucinatory themes of the film, we’ll be fantasizing about Katy Mixon even if she’s more of a supporting act this time around. The helium-voiced, busty beauty has been heating up TV land for years in popular series “Eastbound and Down” as well as “Mike and Molly” utilizing that kooky sex appeal of hers. Audiences are calling her eminently watchable on “Mike and Molly” and at the very least should have been nominated as Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy (leading lady Melissa McCarthy did triumphed as Best Actress). While we may certainly lust after this sassy Sex Symbol, its those helpings of Southern Belle geniality that keeps us coming back for more.
There’s really heaps of thunder from Down Under when referring to the impact of Australian Actresses and their invasion of the US Film market. Expect Sharni Vinson to provide some of it as this cutie stars in “You’re Next”, the all-the-rage horror entry at this year’s Fantastic Fest. Touted as the new “Scream”, the smart home invasion flick could transform Sharni into a household name not unlike how Neve Campbell is often put on the pedestal for being a Terror Hottie. And because she posed for Maxim Australia, I’ll let it slide that “You’re Next” doesn’t have a trailer out yet. Plus it’s now under the Lionsgate label and we all know how fantastic their stable of films have been. Ogle at her behind the scenes Maxim shoot (above)…her sexy accent, carefree hair and supple bod (which we saw plenty in Step Up 3D) is quite the arousing factor!
It’s never an easy thing when you’re a one-man-army actress lover like myself who has to have fingers on the pulse of entertainment news at all times. Then comes cherubic cutie MICHELLE LUCHESE to my rescue by pointing out that she’s letting blood flow on “TRUE BLOOD” in the episode “If You Love Me, Why Am I Dyin’?”. Well actually, she’s playing a young woman whose part of a viral video team filming vamps in action and sacrificing her neck in the hopes of fame. Check out her reel (above) for that very scene where even in Bon Temps, Louisiana, you can be the next Youtube star! MICHELLE gets to delivered the punch line at the end…What A Sweet Deal! Vampires are indeed taking over the internet so thumbs up to MICHELLE for having a say or should I say sticking out her neck for them (hers is luscious by the way)…can you imagine the Youtube segment she did on the red-hot “True Blood” is now on the authentic Youtube and should be gaining hits as we speak! Expect the cash registers to ring as more offers pour in for MICHELLE…hehe. Could MICHELLE be the newest princess of cool ala Lauren Ambrose? She however likens herself to be a mixture of Lauren plus a few more non-conformist indie actresses.
Personally speaking, she stands on her own two feet as a kooky charmer and you can enter her offbeat world by visiting the MICHELLE LUCHESE OFFICIAL SITE. Besides her theater and film roots, she’s also a comic and a musician conversant in a variety of instruments. With Dolores O’Riordan expected back in Asia soon, MICHELLE reminds me a lot of her. At times as the lead singer of LA-based band Chemistry Class, her similarly soaring folksy sound is fetching (Check out Catastrophe, their maiden music video above). How much more eclectic can she get? Already she’s being lauded as a lovable actress whose energy and finesse in a comedic/dramatic capacity points to a bright future ahead.
Very much an outstanding character actress, BETH GRANT has embodied the most eccentric roles ever seen, etching into history some of the most indelible onscreen moments. From her stint on cult hit “Sordid Lives” as the maladjusted Sissy Hickey to starring alongside ‘The Dude’ Jeff Bridges in “Crazy Heart”, what you will get from her is top drawer stuff! Her gracing the Newport Beach Film Fest 2011 is a real boon as she headlines the film “Valley Of The Sun” and while the title sounds chaste, BETH is playing the mother of a Porn Star who suffers a mental breakdown! Having those porn elements wavered her own opinions of the movie’s premise but being a risk-taker, BETH dived straight into it which we all know has paid off so handsomely for her before. Think as recently as “Herpes Boy” where’s she’s all Zen as a New Age mother whose son has a humongous birthmark problem…..that comedy had multiple sold-out screenings thanks in part to her zany interpretation. If you want to see BETH at the quirky best, then the offbeat drama “Sedona” where she plays a kooky fortune teller will enthrall once again, adding to the long line of breathtaking Beth Grant performances. Helen Mirren watch your back…Here’s one unconventionally foxy lady that could possibly steal your thunder! Many would remember she played the very sexy mom of Sandra’s Bullock cameraman obsessed daughter in “All About Steve”. Personally I have a thing for her Southern accent which has such a sweet zing to it…:)
The spectacle of believable diversity and awesome coolness can be seen in her phenomenal artistic endeavors; “Donnie Darko”, “Little Miss Sunshine” and “Dear Lemon Lima” are some of the 100+ Features that includes a fine collection of TV Roles where She once said “We’re trying to change the world. Otherwise, why be an artist? You want to shake people up and make ’em think! reminding us that the enthusiastic verve she has for setting hearts aflutter is undying. Closing my Newport Beach Film Fest Hottie Special with this tribute to her, it is hoped that Screen Legend will become synonymous with the name BETH GRANT.
