Rising Starlet: Katy Foley

 alt=  alt=

If it’s her alluring green eyes that have got you hooked then KATY FOLEY can certainly do so for hours on end. Have you seen her in the music video “My Apology” (above) by Aussie Singer/Songwriter Penny Hewson? Her appearance is one of haunting captivation befitting the ethereal texture of the melody and I have to say the vid is a new addiction for me (brings back memories of my fascination with Cocteau Twins). KATY is in her element as the song reaches its climax, her pained expression towards the end is so beguiling. In addition, she’s heating up the red carpet at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival with the premiere of her comedy short “Hairball”. She plays Clarissa who is seemingly the perfect blind date until the man who a thing for her discovers some unusual flaws of the physical kind. Let’s just say it’s sort of a hairy situation between the two lovebirds! The quirky performance by KATY should warrant a wave of adoration from indie fans.

That warrants a visit to the KATY FOLEY OFFICIAL SITE where you can view more of her videos. KATY can be sexy, funny and also display varied nuances in her performances with the impact being a sustained interest. Enthralling her way into our hearts is on the cards and we can’t wait for more. I’m due an interview with this up and comer of the film industry, so watch this space for more on the very lovely Miss Katy Foley…:)

Rising Starlet: Kelly Deadmon

 alt=  alt=

Key for every performer has customarily been versatility and KELLY DEADMON can effortlessly bring to life a varied range of characters. Television has certainly been a fertile platform for the lovely blonde with notable appearances in a trio of series from the “Law & Order” franchise. KELLY has become an inviting face ever since, reprising her surgeon role on the fourth season of “Royal Pains” and guest-starring in “The Good Wife”. She’s done everything from commercials to hosting a show on the Food Network and even sketch comedy. Watch for her in the supernatural short film “Montauk” that will raise even more questions about the area said to have been the testing bed of experiments in time travel and possibly alien techonology. KELLY is embracing the indie route in what is a very intriguing tale.

Sizzling Cutie: Laura Perloe

 alt=  alt=

LAURA PERLOE has a mesmerizing radiance that has seen her receive the some of the highest of praises for her work in entertainment. Look out for her in “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World”, the Keira Knightley romantic comedy screening at the Los Angeles Film Fest 2012. There’s quite a few familiar names in the cast and it’s great to see LAURA being one of the gorgeous faces we find so desirable. In fact she’s excellent at subtly varying her voice, body language, and gestures when in character which would in turn resonates heartily with everyone that watches her. It’s these special qualities that we so often remember and as we discover LAURA’s appealing personality, we’ll be inclined to adore her.

It was in the theatrical scene that LAURA began catching the eye where according to a reviewer each moment she’s on stage is a pleasure. On that note, we’re in for a period of fascinating over her as this lovely gal flourishes in the arena of film.

Canadian Vixen: Jodie Dowdall

 alt=  alt=

Ever so often, we give plaudits to the rising talents of Canada and the charming JODIE DOWDALL is a svelte brunette everyone should know about. Having recently heard how nice fellow Canadian Emily VanCamp, star of TV series “Revenge” is on set (one of her co-stars vouches that she is extremely down to earth and as lovely in personality as she is on screen), you’ll find those same qualities in JODIE. She did warmed many a heart as social worker Nancy in the Hallmark Original “The Santa Suit”. As the love interest of Kevin Sorbo’s greedy CEO turned Santa Claus in this tender drama, JODIE lines herself up as a would-be apple of one’s eye with ease. It’s agreeable that this actress/model is an ample delight, the honesty of her acting markedly enjoyable.

Her other credits include appearances in “Queer as Folk”, “Earth Final Conflict” and “The Newsroom”. She’s also the leading lady in the ultra-violent “Dead Dreams” which has been labeled as gross because of its unnerving tooth extraction scenes. Heading into much more disturbing territory, JODIE’s journey as a murder victim sees her amnesiac husband trying to piece together the horrific event. There’s elements of Memento and Groundhog Day, as slowly but surely the pieces fall into place. Once more JODIE plays a pivotal role and she’s a big part of the thriller’s focus on its mysterious events. With her shining in both lighter and darker fare, JODIE’s days as a budding starlet is already in motion.

Blonde Bombshell: Anastasia Ganias

Men have long worship at the altar of Greek Goddesses and the ultra sexy Greek-American beauty ANASTASIA GANIAS has us infallibly marveling at the babe that she is. One can stare at those dreamy eyes of hers like forever and it’s easy to offer her heartfelt ardor when she’s as beautiful on the inside. She showed me some love with that most valuable of phrases “You’re The Man” and coming from such a gorgeous lady, she’s more than made herself irresistible. Especially since she once shared kissing time with Sting’s daughter Micky Sumner in the indie drama “Trophy Wife” and titillatingly offered her boobs for guys to snort coke off as the party girl Danni in “Party Down”, the cult comedy series. ANASTASIA has been dazzling television for quite some time with appearances on “CSI: Miami”, “CSI: New York”, and “Dexter”. She has an entrancing factor equivalent to the younger version of the foxy Jeri Ryan and we haven’t yet wax lyrical about ANASTASIA’s elegant legs.

I recently came across a clip of model Brooklyn Decker sprucing her pair with spray tan on one of them talk shows but as one can see with ANASTASIA, her stems are naturally immaculate. Wrapped in that hot, leggy bodice is a gal with the soul of a sweetheart and that’s precisely why she’s such a persuasive fascination. ANASTASIA channels a sincerity as much on camera as she does off it in the most uplifting of ways. Even in the sexier bits she’s done, her feminine wilds doesn’t smother the earnestness of her characters, instead accentuating them so delectably. Here’s a lovely actress we won’t hesitate to cherish keenly.

Rising Starlet: Madi Goff

 alt=  alt=

Texas gals have often been viewed as being sweet, funny, and smart which definitely applies to the gloriously adorable MADI GOFF. A multi-hyphenate with a hippie sensibility, she’s full of creative energy and currently harnesses that dynamism as a writer, actress, improviser and stand-up comic in LA. Surprisingly it’s a horror flick that MADI’s bound to make a lasting impact and does so with sensationally hideous effect in “I Didn’t Come Here To Die”. As the high-strung, nerdy Miranda, the booze-filled trip she’s on leads to a stomach-churning repercussion she’ll never see coming. Let’s face it, we snigger at people getting maimed in ingenious ways and this film zeros in on the stupid decisions we humans choose with a savagery that never lets up, even trumping that sick show “1000 Ways To Die’! Check out the the production clip (above) from “I Didn’t Come Here To Die” as MADI shows us just how resounding of a screamer she is whilst in ghastly makeup that could rival The Ring’s devilish Sadako! It’s a renaissance of sorts for satires on 80s Horror and the New Orleans Horror Film Fest happening this week is the place to be if you’re up for some of the most shocking moments perpetrated for visual consumption.

Furthermore premier horror portal Bloody Disgusting are feting MADI as a standout for her turn as Miranda, whilst exasperating as we know how geeks sometimes can be does have endearingly redeeming traits. She smoothly pulls off both the amiable and irksome facets of her character. A visit to the MADI GOFF OFFICIAL SITE reveals more about the many hues of this colorful hottie, her ‘bye-o-grrr-fee’ (ie. biography) a must read! This may be the time to celebrate Halloween month but it seems more and more like the Attack Of The Cuties with us growing in fondness with the exploits of the lovely Miss MADI GOFF.

Canadian Vixen: Glynis Davies

 alt=  alt=

If you like subtle sensuality, then GLYNIS DAVIES is pretty strong in that department. It’s been a some time since I last spotlighted a Canadian talent and it’s satisfying to have the lovely GLYNIS showered with honeyed words. Actually I saw Melissa Leo in “Red State” and was impressed at how she credibly goaded those 3 unlucky young men into a ghastly fate (they had made contact with her prostitute character). It’s that very understated seductiveness that one will be able to identify with GLYNIS. After all she did try to entice a married man in the demonic thriller “Hard Ride To Hell” (watch the clip above). Hey now, we all recognize age is no barrier to being a temptation…:)

It’s really amazing to see fans compiling a list of hot actresses over 40,50 and 60; A reflection of the value of older women on film as well as television and an unmistakable cue for me to feature them more often in the future. GLYNIS is of course ever so lovely and she can be equally engaging behind As Maryann Wallace, mother of Eli on “Stargate Universe”, GLYNIS shone in those poignant moments of a woman battling both physical and emotional demons. While she’s very active on the TV scene having appeared in shows like Smallville, Eureka, The X-Files, etc, she has on occasion taken a crack on several independent films. Cozy in a wide range of roles and thoroughly pleasant, she’s watchable all the way.

Rising Starlet: Heather Dorff

 alt=  alt=

Her expressively hypnotic blue eyes are an immediate attention grabber and HEATHER DORFF does indeed prove to be quite the compelling actress in the arena of indie horror. As she once remarked to horror fans everywhere, she could just be under our beds waiting to give us a good scare…that dark humor of hers is so lovable! She herself once went through a rather more grim stage of life and from that experience was born the unnerving short film “What They Say”, a disturbing portrayal of a woman with an uncontrollable need for cutting. Set to premiere at The Chicago Horror Film Festival this September where HEATHER is the esteemed host, the teaser (above) has been called wild and shocking, a foreboding of the psychological terror to come. HEATHER will no doubt impress as Gwen, the complexed, damaged persona who revels in some skin-crawling razor blade mutilation that would make us cringe. It’s also great to see her alongside fellow Scream Queen Kitsie Duncan in “What They Say” as well as the soon to be released “Mother’s Blood”. This thriller of twisted proportions sees HEATHER as Emma, the repressed daughter of control freak Vivian (Kitsie) who traded her daughter’s beauty in order to regain her own after a horrific accident. She’s investing her heart and soul into these features and not just as an actress as she’s heavily involved in the writing/producing side of things as well.

With all the dire material HEATHER has to work with in a majority of her films, off camera she always has a warm smile and ever so welcoming of all her fans. I myself am reciprocating the love by heaping praise on this emerging prospect on the independent scene. You too can do your part by visiting the newly revamped HEATHER DORFF OFFICIAL SITE and will find that she’s easy on the eye as an alluring model. This lovely gal doesn’t shy away from unsettling subject matter onscreen and is showing the world what she can do when tackling such chilling scenes. Success is only a stone’s throw away for this bright newcomer.
