It’s easy to see why JESSIE WISEMAN is a genuine captivator for she has soulful charms which we find so attractive. “Bellflower” announced her arrival as a face to watch on the indie scene and her provocativeness in the film was memorably fascinating. Even though her character Milly was one of questionable morality, wantonly taking her room-mate Mike for a ride, the complexity that she effortlessly managed to depict will have many applauding. Described as being entrancing onscreen and expertly turning her “Bellflower” role into one that infuriates as the film progressed installed JESSIE as a blossoming indie darling. Truth be told, I’ve been trying to connect with JESSIE over a year since “Bellflower” was released and finally it’s a dream come true to be in touch with her via Facebook.

This gem of an actress follows it up with another noteworthy feature called “$50K and a Callgirl, A Love Story”. She’s the paramour (who happens to be a hooker) of a dying man and once more the ease with which she slips into being the love interest with a complicated life is particularly compelling. Nothing is daunting for her, the emotional journey she takes viewers on is testament to JESSIE’s magnetic charisma. It’s time we all stand up and rave about JESSIE for she takes us on cinematic adventures that’s gutsy and pushes the boundaries.

It’s time to give a shout out to ANNA WOOD for the strong opening of her film “Chronicle” this week will no doubt propel ANNA to great heights. Although she’s been in several high profile TV shows including “Royal Pains”, “Cold Case” and “Brothers & Sisters”, her emergence on the indie scene will be an exciting step up. At a time when Hollywood’s finest such as Jim Caviezel and Laura Dern are muscling into TV Territory, it’s great to see upcoming actresses having a domain to parlay their qualities on camera. “Chronicle”, the tale of teens discovering superpowers may be a boy’s playground, nevertheless ANNA plays a significant part as the video blogger Monica documenting the transformation of the impressionable trio. Suddenly these 3 outsiders become the coolest people in town but just like in the series “Heroes”, darkness lurks as harmless pranks evolved into the abuse of powers, such are the glaring flaws of us as humans. This week, she heats up the screens on the episode on “House Of Lies” in a sex scene with Don Cheadle. No one’s gonna miss that!

Like an Andy Warhol print, LAUREN LAKIS is a kaleidoscopic of personalities whether she’s making a splash as a model or being vibrantly in character as an actress. On September 14th, viewers get to catch this dazzler in the Midnight Madness Entry “Lovely Molly” at TIFF 2011. It is yet another tension-filled supernatural nightmare that’s guaranteed to be mystifyingly scary. Having co-director Eduardo Sanchez at the helm, expect the chills to be in the vein of “The Blair Witch Project”!. There’s of course newcomer Gretchen Lodge as the lead, the perennial cutie Alexandra Holden and of course as mentioned upcoming starlet LAUREN LAKIS herself rounding out an eclectic cast. What can I say but confirm that the camera loves her and the LAUREN LAKIS OFFICIAL SITE has heaps of pics that attest to her knack for being fashionably sexy. With that big smile of hers, she’s adorned with the sweetie pie features akin to someone like Allison Mack (in her early years on Smallville), although her direction as an actress takes on a more “alternative” route.

LA Film Fest Hottie Special 2011: Indie Princess Suziey Block

There may be only 3 days worth of this year’s LA Film Fest left but the event is striving to save its best for last. I’m referring to the horror flick “Entrance” that’s all the rage, even usurping bland “Green Lantern” and its cardboard villains. Guess the big boys have to make way for this indie gem; The subtle tone of its fantastic trailer(above) is mind bogglingly mysterious opting for the resonating impact of the aural kind. Behind every great film is of course a great woman and I’m referring to SUZIEY BLOCK who headlines as a hipster yearning to leave LA but finds it’s easier said than done! In SUZIEY, you have a performer who has an impeccable ability to make viewers want to invest in the person behind the story. “Entrance” sees her essaying a true-to-life character with hopes and fears that ultimately leads her down a road of paranoia she can’t extract herself out of!! I’m expecting by the end of the movie, we’ll all be blown away…:) Come July 24th you know where you should be…at the premiere of “ENTRANCE” to catch a glimpse of SUZIEY. She’s already dazzled in angelic white on opening night at the LA Film Fest and she’ll surely do so once more on the red carpet. There’s her magnetic charisma that speedily grows on you which would easily ensure a growing list of ardent fans.

As the principal in a duo of upcoming horror flicks “Where Is Amy Pressman” and “American Mummy” SUZIEY is fashioning herself as quite the enigma. The first feature is a documentary-style retelling of a road-trip gone wrong while the latter looks to reinvent the wheel when it comes to feeding our craze for Zombies. Just saw SUZIEY covered in blood from head to toe in a First Look photo of “Wonder Valley”, a take on the popular ‘Cannibals Hunting Vacationers’ sub-genre that introduces a huge twist. Sounds like SUZIEY is establishing herself as a rapidly burgeoning Scream Queen in addition to her standing as an indie and festival darling. That’s triple the reasons and three times the visual pleasure…more than enough to show our appreciation for one of the brightest starlets to hit the independent scene.
