Screen Siren: Natalija Nogulich

Noted for her personable disposition and gregarious allure thanks to her Serbian heritage, film doyenne NATALIJA NOGULICH has and will always hold our captive attention. AFI Film Fest entry “I Melt With You” might have its testosterone-laden, steeped in darkness tomfoolery by way of leading man from “Hung” Thomas Jane and “Entourage” star Jeremy Piven but it’s female cast is just as colorful. NATALIJA appears in this hallucinogenic tale of excess (could this be the heavier, gloomier answer to “The Hangover”) alongside the ravishing Melora Hardin and porn star turned legitimate actress Sasha Grey. Over the years AFI’s mission has been one of presenting the best films out there irregardless of their stature and I’m following their lead in featuring actresses who deserve their share of recognition. Having lit up Broadway, television and film (she played Jack Nicholson’s wife in “Hoffa”), NATALIJA continues to churn out outstanding examples of character work that cuts across different genres. Her recent guest spot as fortune teller Vadoma on Betty White’s “Hot In Cleveland” is testament to her knack for consistently keeping things interesting every time she graces a role.

The NATALIJA NOGULICH OFFICIAL SITE is where one can keep up with her latest projects. Sci-Fi fans and Trekkies in particular cherish her as the tough cookie Admiral Nechayev in “Star Trek-The Next Generation”; she excellently added an intricacy to what is essentially a personality of someone that’s straight-up and regimental. On MTV’s comedy series “The Hard Times Of RJ Berger” shone in a fun, eccentric manner perfecting the idiosyncrasy of play director Mrs. Bender to such enjoyable heights. Proving what a creative masterclass she is, NATALIJA is also an accomplished screen writer, novelist and director, thus growing ever more absorbing by the day.

Indie Princess: Sarah Nicklin

 alt=  alt=

The deluge of Horror Film Festivals in October means we get to savor a bevy of beauties and SARAH NICKLIN can sure mesmerize from the outset. Her turn as the lesbian avenging angel in a habit from “Nun Of That” predates Lindsay Lohan’s gun-licking nun in “Machete” and SARAH is such a riot and way more funnier. There’s also Scream Queen Legend Debbie Rochon as the Mother Superior and Troma Guru Lloyd Kaufman as The Pope amping up the thrills. SARAH has indeed been memorable as strong, independent leading ladies in several exploitation flicks so it’s appropriate that she’s causing a stir in her latest. At this weekend’s Rock and Shock, be seduced and struck with fear by SARAH’s performance as possessed porn star Amoreena Jones in “The Disco Exorcist”. It’s demonic femme fatale vs sex obsessed disco mogul in lurid 70s-inspired psychedelia and carnality with every chance of SARAH being exalted as a Grindhouse Babe. Influenced by the tenacity and sexiness of women on film, you’ll discover SARAH glistens with vigorous spunk and a perceptibly sensual disposition.

She also offers an intelligent insight into the attraction of violence that borders on the taboo such as why an impressionable male audience would so covet the gun-toting nun character she once so boldly embodied. In her words, men crave the virginal and the chaste thus confirming why sexualizing a nun would increase that compulsion tenfold. When the black and white horror flick “Exhumed” premieres next month, expect the adoration for her to grow as well. SARAH stars alongside Debbie Rochon once again as both ladies venture into emotionally groundbreaking territory in this movie’s non-traditional take on terrors of the human mind. Remember to visit the SARAH NICKLIN OFFICIAL SITE for more exciting news. It’s increasingly likely she’s going great guns this year and many more after.

Watch These Sultry Scream Queens At Days Of The Dead 2011

HEATHER LAGENKAMP & AMANDA WYSS

 alt=  alt=

As an impressionable young boy watching “A Nightmare On Elm Street” for the first time, you latch on to the first images that came your way. They were of blonde teen Amanda Wyss as Tina Gray in her nightdress being stalked by the razor-fingers dream master Freddy Krueger. That ignited my fascination with blondes ever since! Then the focus shifts to cutie Heather Lagenkamp as Nancy Thompson and the memorable bath tub scene that sees Freddy’s sharpened gloves ominously head towards her. That’s when the desire in me to save adorable girls started…hehe. So it’s sensational to see a reunion of this inspirational duo at Days Of The Dead 2011. I won’t be the first nor the last in exalting the influence Heather and Amanda has given the horror world and they remain such endearingly awe-inspiring figures.

ASHLEY C. WILLIAMS

 alt=

Since bursting onto the scene as one-third of “The Human Centipede”, Ashley C. Williams has enjoyed a meteoric rise that’s seen her attain cult-like devotion. She may have been the middle part of that monstrosity but her cringe-worthy performance caught the attention of a worldwide audience and launched her to epic heights. Now headlining the survival horror feature “Empty”, Ashley gets into the skin of another disturbing role set during a gas crisis. Ashley stars as Piper who faces the moment of truth in a dire situation; Will she survive in an unknown landscape under severe duress? Raved for her singing in Spellbound- A Musical Adventure, her dynamism extends beyond the screen. It’s no wonder we are hypnotized by Ashley’s intense beauty, rousing aura and down-to-earth nature.

GINGER LYNN ALLEN

 alt=  alt=

Yup she’s a pornstar who took a hiatus but returned to reinvent herself as a B-movie actress as well as sizzling the MILF genre which has taken the adult industry by storm. Best remembered in the dream sequence for vigorously humping Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) in violent serial killer thriller “The Devils Rejects”, Ginger Lynn Allen is the epitome of cougar-liciousness. Metallica even featured her in their video “Turn the Page” where she portrayed an aging stripper struggling to raise her child. The invasion of adult film stars into the mainstream is now commonplace with degrees of success. She was notoriously known as the one-time paramour of ‘Mr Tiger Blood’ Charlie Sheen but as you can see, Ginger is still doing her saucy thing.

Hot Actress #401 – Rachel Frank:Rising Starlet

 alt=  alt=

The compelling new indie drama ‘CAHUENGA PASS’ will most certainly launch sweet newcomer RACHEL FRANK as a SEX SYMBOL. Starring as adult film star Stacy Sweet, RACHEL has all the right attributes to carry this genius of a story by writer/director Christopher L. Golon. Check out the awesome teaser (above) complete with a monster song ‘Hollywood’ by Shattered Atom; based on true events, seeing the difficulties a young bright-eyed girl endures after entering the porn industry is tragic yet jarringly authentic. With her fresh face look and her stunningly voluptuous body, RACHEL is the perfect choice to portray the aspiring adult performer in the film which traces the rise to fame of an adult performer to her abusive life and finally her self-destructive downfall. Be sure to drop by the RACHEL FRANK MYSPACE SITE.

Sometimes all it takes is just one role to create buzz for an actress and I’m pretty convinced this could be RACHEL’s breakthrough….:) I know it’s pretty hard to judge from the teaser that’s under a minute long but you can’t deny RACHEL’s mesmerizing sultriness. Indeed, she has a fascinating screen presence and maximizes her stirring, sex appeal to its fullest. The only gripe i have is probably that the film itself has a running time of 35 minutes but otherwise I’m honored to be one of the first to promote the solid independent feature ‘CAHUENGA PASS’ and of course, its stunning leading lady RACHEL FRANK.
