Tarah DeSpain is a fine epitome of the Girl Next Door, her virginal womanly ideal and cute smile intrigues the heart. In fact, she stars as Ada, a rather comely gal in the dramedy “Burnout” which screens at the SXSW Film Fest. So sweet-natured, it almost frightens you to think of her in sexually suggestive situations but that’s what her character gets into when she starts ‘hookering’ her feet! It actually involves giving pleasure to men who have a foot fetish, surely a substance for laughter. Talking about substance, Ada also happens to be a reputed pot dealer who has to leave the weed selling behind after the passing of the law that legalizes pot, causing her business to dwindle. Awkwardly, she stumbles into the odd world where women tickle the fancy of men with their bare feet for cash. Can this film be any more awesome! Don’t miss the trailer (above) and it’s great to see that Tarah plays a woman with multiple facets, at times irrational yet absolutely endearing. Yet again, we are treated to the quirkiest ladies on film and Tarah sparkles throughout, captivating every time she’s in focus. There’s a memorable scene where she freshens up with sprays of water in her backyard which one can say is rather subtly sensual.

With her ebullient beauty, it’s easy to see why Tarah has appeared in several television commercials, including spots for L’OREAL, COORS LIGHT, and PINCH PROVISIONS. She is also the leading lady in the upcoming film “Stomping Ground” which melds classic Bigfoot horror with sparks of romantic comedy. There’s every chance this could be a sleeper indie hit and that period of endless fascination with the enchanting Tarah begins!

Our children and youth do indeed play a big part in entertainment as discovery shows such as “Hi-5″ and Kid-Lite fare such as “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” continue to amass a huge global following. Enter the Nick Jr musical TV Show “The Fresh Beat Band” that has taken the world by storm by incorporating music as part of the solution in solving problems….a mighty fascinating premise indeed! Seeing how popular “The Fresh Beat Band” is and the buzz directed at its cast including Tara Perry who plays Marina (previously essayed by Shayna Rose), I’m jumping on the bandwagon. Since taking over the colorful drum set, glowing reviews have flowed in for Tara as she takes over the reins of the quirky, affable red-haired drummer. Tara herself is so lovable it’s infectious…:)

Mary-Louise Parker in “Weeds”

Many men will agree that if they opt for a partner, the enigmatic Mary Louise-Parker would certainly be on the top of the list if not Number 1. I came across her interview on The Late Late Show With Craige Ferguson where she wholeheartedly professed her love for men and that to me affirms why she’s so coveted by people everywhere. The heart, the soul and the Sexy, Sassy Driving Force behind the popular “Weeds” is back in Season 7 and Mary promises to Bring It On! At 45, she’s as strikingly gorgeous as ever with the cougar-licious streak that till now stirs our loins…:) One of my generation’s heroines, she’s left an indelible mark as the marijuana dealing Nancy Botwin which by now should be inducted into Pop Culture. Mark the date June 27th as the High Priestess of Pot Returns!

Desiree Hall in “Teen Wolf”

If you must know, Holland Roden is not just the only Ravishing Redhead on Beacon Hills High School in MTV’s Teen Wolf. Near the end of episode 4 “Magic Bullet”, we get a quick glance at alluring Desiree Hall as Jennifer, a school nurse who is as mysterious as she is special. While that might be a blink and you’ll miss it scene, Desiree is slated to feature in 3 more upcoming episodes. It’s going to be a busy time ahead for this multi-faceted sweetheart as she’s producing/directing her first film as well as being the headliner in the spine-tingling flick “Donner Pass“. An established talent on television and the indie scene, Desiree now has eyes on becoming a creative doyenne. With her captivating looks and her gift to hold the interest of viewers, she’s certainly climbing the ladder of success.

Haviland Stillwell in “CSI:NY”

Watching Southern temptress Haviland Stillwell transformed herself into the Geisha Artist Akiko Haruka in “CSI: NY” was so memorable. Being Asia myself, I approve of the East Meets West persona, engagingly portrayed by Miss Haviland. A mover and shaker in the industry, you will also find she’s one of the friendliest actresses around who never fails to respond when a fan has a query or two. Besides a sizzling appearance in hot pink no less for the new series “Single Ladies”, she’s about to thrill the online world with the new webseries “Unicorn Plan-It” premiering August 1st, produced and written by her. The more you see Haviland, the more you know she has the X-factor to go far in the business. In addition to her opulent beauty, she has that saucily fun nature that’s becoming highly addictive.

IRIS BAHR in “Svetlana”

 alt=  alt=

Giving Borat a run for his money, Iris Bahr has fashioned her alter ego, The Russian Madam Svetlana into an endearingly recognizable character. Birthing the ‘St Petersburg House of Discreet Pleasure’ and terms such as ‘Whorehome’, Iris has indeed touched our pleasure zone…the funny bone that is…:) Living up to her reputation as a comedienne built upon stints on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “The Kind Of Queens”, she’s now the bona fide star of her very own show “Svetlana”. From its humble beginnings on the web, Season 2 is now a fully-fledged TV Series, sheer proof of its marketability. Iris does dabble in horror (remember her as the director who gets dismembered by cultists in “The Last Exorcism”), it is her strength in making us laugh that positions her as being so sought after.
