Stars of tomorrow are certainly emerging at CANNES and MISTY UPHAM is one who is on song to steal our hearts with a series of upcoming roles. Most significant of all, she will be at CANNES walking down the red carpet with leading man Benicio Del Toro for the premiere of “Jimmy P”. Buzz is swirling around for this film that deals with loss from a Native American perspective and surely eyes are on MISTY who in the press photos can be seen in scenes with Benicio. Apparently MISTY’s character JANE has a romantic liaison with Benicio’s Jimmy P which will be talked about by many. In fact, she has been a scene stealer before in the critically acclaimed hit “Frozen River” alongside Melissa Leo and it would be fitting if she garnered the plaudits this time around. Having been nominated for best supporting actress at the Independent Spirit Awards for embodying Lila Littlewolf in “Frozen River”.
As Lila the widowed Mohawak mum looking to reclaim her son from the mother-in-law while smuggling immigrants, MISTY was a revelation and showcased how great she is at delivering on conflicting emotions. She was able to sustain the attention of audiences who must have been fascinated with the multi-layered role MISTY so successfully made believable. Slated to star with the legendary Meryl Streep in “August: Osage County,” a dark comedy based on a play, things are looking very rosy indeed. It’s a key role for MISTY as Johnna Monevata, a Cheyenne woman hired as a live-in housekeeper by the Weston family whom has demanding matriarch Violet Weston of course played by Meryl Streep. Red is the color of love and LAUREN NASH is a red-hot talent who is set to garner a passionate following with her incredibly desirable assets. If it’s her alluring green eyes that have got you hooked then KATY FOLEY can certainly do so for hours on end. Her appearance is one of haunting captivation befitting the ethereal texture of the melody and I have to say the vid is a new addiction for me (brings back memories of my fascination with Cocteau Twins). In addition, she’s heating up the red carpet at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival with the premiere of her comedy short “Hairball”. She plays Clarissa who is seemingly the perfect blind date until the man who a thing for her discovers some unusual flaws of the physical kind. Let’s just say it’s sort of a hairy situation between the two lovebirds! The quirky performance by KATY should warrant a wave of adoration from indie fans.

She’s stepping up her game in an emotionally-charged dramatization of the human frailty of life when things can often go sideways. You can almost perceive a big part is due to fall into the lap of one as talented as RACHEL…:)

NAUGHTY FACTOR: It’s easy to gravitate towards someone as magnetic as Anne Leighton for she has a coyness that’s unmissable and a most sexy figure. Her body has in fact been used in the print ads/opening credits for the gripping TV series “American Horror Story” and it is now apparent her svelte legs are just as beguiling. The one thing we know for sure is Anne’s addictive sauciness, from her turn as Sparky in the web series “Superseven” to when I first saw her kittenish ways on indie horror flick “Cyrus”.

So much so I and possibly many others harbor hopes that Anne survives each time she’s in a horror flick as what could happen in her newest one “House Of Purgatory” (above)… a Christmas wish perhaps…;) Off camera, Anne gives us the friendliest of vibes so being enamored with her occurs briskly.

NAUGHTY FACTOR: She became a cult princess as the compassionate hooker Abby in “Hobo With A Shotgun” and some might consider Molly’s role as the lady of the night racy. Yet she embodied a memorable character in the humorously twisted grindhouse flick, her skimpily-dressed lolita in fishnets, a temptingly free spirit and who can forget the striking heart tattoo on her chest. Just like it, you’ll have your tickers set on Molly in no time at all.
NICE FACTOR: Interviewers have noted how accessible she is and one in particular remembered how genial she was at Sundance during the festival run of “Hobo With A Shotgun”. Add to that, Molly’s outpouring of love for her ever increasing fanbase who have passionately watched her onscreen multiple times. If there is a comparison to be made, I reckon she could be the effervescent cutie to take over the mantle of one Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Texan actress/model ELLE LAMONT is completely breathtaking when she pulls of the Classic Hollywood Look and there’s a bombshell quality about her that would make anyone swoon. Seeing her sizzle in the red bikini (above) reminds me of the memorable pool scene in “Fast Times At Ridgemont High” where Phoebe Cates titillated a generation of impressionable youth. If they ever remade that definitive teen movie, I reckon ELLE has to be a top candidate to reprise Phoebe’s role as the foxy Linda Barrett. Shining yet again as a wife of a perturbed musician whose life turns awry when he seeks experimental help to turn his life around, she conveyed such tenderness, moving audiences at a screening to tears.
