Indie Princess: Amanda Bauer

“The Myth Of The American Sleepover” is the sort of moody piece that has a way of introducing glowing newcomers and one such ingénue is AMANDA BAUER. Placing the weight of the movie on such young shoulders is a brave move but AMANDA together with co-star Claire Sloma excel in their turns as teens with blossoming desires. AMANDA provides the cherished moments in “The Myth Of The American Sleepover” as Claudia, the newbie in town who has a penchant for kissing and not telling! She adeptly captures both the awkwardness and rash deviousness of her character Claudia who lives it up before the daily grind of high school is rekindled. It’s a relief to know that Young Hollywood is not all just about Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift even if we are forced fed the mass hysteria. Rising starlet Brit Marling for instance doesn’t subscribe to the ‘IT’ Girl tag and AMANDA herself believes in being passionate for her craft, putting fame firmly at the back of her mind. She may be in her 20s yet the outlook she has on her blossoming career speaks volumes of AMANDA’s grounded principles. Her diversity as an actress is equally impressive having taken on roles as a suicidal teenager, a nerd and even a Devil Worshipper! Now Amanda’s star is rising fast with her appearing in the hit series “Mad Men”.

She’s seen as being relatable to audiences, especially since a New York Times reviewer cited her standout performance in “The Myth Of The American Sleepover”. Her luminously fair features are as enthralling as her engaging presence on film and you already know I’m in AMANDA’s corner with her being such a cute blonde. With another indie feature and the teen comedy “Messina High” based on William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” in the pipeline, AMANDA is destined to make her mark and leave us yearning for more.

Sizzling Cutie: Angela Trimbur

 alt=  alt=

Once more glitter descends upon us in the form of another dazzling event celebrating the best in film. Indeed the LA Film Fest 2011 has some heavy hitters with heart throb Ryan Reynolds pledging allegiance to a lantern and Katie Holmes becoming very afraid of the dark. That also means a bevy of eclectic beauties who are going to be the talk of town in the City Of Angels! ANGELA TRIMBUR is one such hottie and even though she has a supporting role in the highly raved indie “The Future”, she’s part of an impressive female-friendly line-up. Just like Kristina Klebe came to prominence in the first Rob Zombie’s Halloween, Angela herself was a scene-stealer in the sequel. She ensured that her brash yet tempting Harley David is one to savor and how about those priceless flashes of her sumptuous derrière in the van love scene before her brutal slaying by one Michael Myers. Actually she flaunted her flawless rear once more in the amusing sketch “Date Oopsie” on YouTube (above) where her wacky antics are a must see. Yo Christopher Nolan! Not to sure if Juno Temple is in the running but if you’re still looking to cast, ANGELA would make the perfect Harley Quinn in the upcoming Batman installment. Mad Love is bound to happen if the irrepressibly zippy Angela is given the chance to ramp up the craziness in Joker’s naughty sidekick. This is a lady who thinks crying is for pussies (in her words)…isn’t she ideal!!

Looking like she’s just arrived from the 1930s with her classic features, she’s made the vintage femininity for the modern gal hugely appealing…Fashion chic and indie cred are clearly synonymous with her. Even though, ANGELA is known as a fantastic dramatic actress, she has had millions laughing their asses off on the strength of her displays as a comedienne. One of the hardest working women in the biz, ANGELA is determined to keep us in a dizzyingly pleasant state of mind. Recently she’s been called Comedy Favorite in a Huffington Post Review…aren’t you excited to watch her now!

Hot Actress #495 – Dai Green: Horror Vixen

 alt=  alt=

You have to love a gal who tells it like she sees it and F**K with people who aren’t hard core horror fans on Twitter. I also recently listen to DAI GREEN on Blogtalkradio as she pointed out the shortcomings of the 2011 AFTER DARK Originals and why some of the films doesn’t do justice to the spirit of the series. Having followed AFTER DARK Horrorfest through 4 iterations, there’s a sense that commercialism has slowly suffocated the festival’s indie cred. From always giving viewers 8 Films To Die for, this year it would be a surprise if half of them manage to live up to the hype! It’s enlivening to see DAI GREEN who’s an influential industry insider giving us her razor-sharp perspectives on horror whether as the Head Mistress for HorrorNews.net or as an entertainer/fan. Awarded Troma Entertainment’s Tromette of the Month for the month of April 2011 is a testament to her incredible contributions, in the process reiterating that women of horror should be recognized thus ridding the world of the ‘gina stigma (in her words). Widely regarded as one of the foxiest internet journalists around, her one-of-a-kind DAI OF THE DEAD column examines horror at its most stirring. None more so than her review of highly controversial gorefest “A Serbian Film” which I found thought-provoking! Haters are saying it’s propagating child pornography but DAI touches on the need to separate fiction from fact and why hypocrisy is rife when there are more questionable movies out there that haven’t gained such vicious backlash! Critics and so-called puritants should wake up and be mature enough to tell the difference between what is inferred on screen and what’s reality!

It’s great to be in contact with Terror Hotties as this close-knit community of talented ladies have been a great source of inspiration for me as a blogger. Seeing Dai Green in the company of fellow Horror Mavens such as Reyna Young, Rebekah Herzberg, Shannon Lark and Eileen Dietz among many others is such a thrill! Evidently I’m captivated by everything she has to say or has written as DAI offers valuable insights often in the spiciest of ways. With several indie projects brewing, DAI is set to be just as stimulating. It’s time we join the movement called ‘DAI ‘ism’…:)

Hot Actress #397 – Tara Perry:Ravishing Redhead

 alt=  alt=

Seeing TARA PERRY in that sexy Harry Potter schoolgirl garb is reason enough to start raving about her. Reading YouTube comments such as ‘That girl is beautiful’ and ‘as long as Tara is in it, the show would be great’ is symbolic of how TARA has emerged as a digital vixen. After all, she is well known as her alter-ego The Movie Maven as she gives you the heads-up on upcoming films in the juiciest of ways. Gotta love her all bikini clad in the Hot Tub Time Machine review (above); you’ll be besotted by her entertaining delivery and of course we all know that TARA has a voluptuous bod….a big incentive to love her even more…hehe. Now you can kick start your ‘TARA PERRY addiction at the TARA PERRY OFFICIAL SITE and MANIA YOUTUBE CHANNEL

With impeccable comic talent and her bountiful good looks, TARA has fanboys, geeks and probably many males of the digital space putting her on their desirable list….;) This hostess with the mostest has also been active in the independent scene, been part of several popular improv groups as well as starring in commercials for Starbucks and the American Idol Video Game. It shouldn’t come as a surprise if TARA PERRY is talked about in the same breath as Olivia Munn or Maria Menounos. TARA has certainly brought a whole lot of goodness to the web with her 1-2 punch of lively dynamism and likable sensuality.
