Rising Starlet: Kristina Kruz

 alt=  alt=

To be desired and loved is justifiable especially when it’s KRISTINA KRUZ accomplishing the feat of mesmerizing us. Being addicted to “Californication” transpires because of the foxiest women on television and KRISTINA exhibits a radiance that’s enticing. Check her out in the episode “In The Clouds”, as she gives a show for Hank Moody (David Duchovny) with a girl on girl kiss on Air Force 69. Leaving us on a high from the very start is courtesy of the beautiful KRISTINA and that’s even before Maggie Grace appears. It’s great to see her tantalizing lips on fellow actress Elizabeth Nicole (whom I’ve featured before) and while it’s a dream for Hank to be around attractive women, it must also mean KRISTINA is a Dream Girl! If only we each had a private jet to call our own and a sexy stewardess in the comely form of KRISTINA. There’s part Latin Vixen and part petite cuteness that makes her compelling, a head turner to be cherished.

Her goal has always been to inspire people through her onscreen sojourn and she’s actively working on honing her craft every single day. This cutie has appeared on hit shows “Hung”, “Greek” & “The Middle” as well as various short films. Comedy is her forte, having excelled in stand up, performing at venues such as The Improv and Comedy Store. KRISTINA evokes good vibes and her expressively angelic face will translate to an unabashed fascination.

Rising Starlet: Camille Collard

 alt=  alt=

Presenting Camille Collard who can easily be our Girl Crush, this is one gal with an effervescent allure we won’t be able to forget. I was actually out with my colleague Camille for almost half a day and it feels like kismet to feature an actress bearing the same name. Somehow blue-eyed blondes just seem to take a hold of me in ways I can’t explain and Camille is simply ravishing very much in the same vein as Teresa Palmer. 2012 was a great one for her and it seems she’s about to take off in 2013! This past year in Portland, she’s worked on several commercials, had a co-star role on “Leverage” (episode 505) and been in several short films. The biggest news is of course her lead role in “Pageant Girl” that’s currently in post-production. On “Leverage”, Camille has shown enough to suggest her potential to affect audiences with a range of emotions. Being a model, she’s evidently eye-catching too…:)

Some Insider News From Camille herself: She’s planning a big move for the near future to LA! Her relocation will surely help her to grow as quickly as possible and is one she’s excited yet nervous about at the same time. She sees LA as the next step in her acting journey and one that will open up many more opportunities. Yet she feels lucky to have been plying her trade in the Portland industry, learning and evolving at the same time.

While she’s had long and sometimes difficult moments in her fledgling career, her passion can be seen from this quote: “I can’t remember a time when I haven’t wanted to be anything other than an actress… It was always just a given for me. I never thought about doing anything else.” We as fans can do our part by supporting her.

Rising Starlet: Brittney Refakes

 alt=  alt=

If you’re instantly enamored by BRITTNEY REFAKES it’s because the brunette is one of the most indelibly mesmerizing faces gracing the industry. Having scoured the net and stumbling upon the BRITTNEY REFAKES OFFICIAL SITE, her stunning beauty speaks for itself. From her modeling pics, it’s clear she’s exquisite and no matter which angle her poses are, BRITTNEY is radiant as can be. With raven-haired cuties such as Lucy Hale and Ariel Winter dominating air time on TV, the indie scene has some very special sweethearts to take note of…:) So here comes the 6th Annual Shockfest Film Festival of Hollywood to introduce to us the lovable talent BRITTNEY. She is the leading lady of the dark comedy “Behind The Horror” which follows a film crew on a shoot in a mansion with an occult-laden past. Will the members of the crew become victims of their eagerness to create a scary masterpiece?

I find myself in absolute enchantment at how BRITTNEY exhibits a likable persona on camera which could well be her ticket to bigger and better things. The more someone is pleasing to the eyes, the more she’ll prosper and BRITTNEY is headed the right direction. Her activities outside of acting is just as interesting with gymnastics, ice skating and track her sports of choice as well as knitting and painting being her preferred hobbies. BRITTNEY has the balanced yet fetching congeniality to be appealing to everyone.

Rising Starlet: Olivia Henry

 alt=  alt=

It’s been a while since I’ve done an online interview with a beguiling talent and OLIVIA HENRY happens to be an actress/singer who can drive you wild. Her devilishly sexy eyes are certain to have an hypnotizing effect and she has the desirable looks that would dazzle in a role of any era. So without further ado, I’ll let her enthrall as she talks about starring in “Werewolf In a Girls Sorority” screening on October 15th and how she prefers to essay dark roles as an actress.

INTERVIEW WITH THE ENCHANTING OLIVIA HENRY

1. Give us a little insight about your role in “Werewolf in a Girls Sorority” and what was it like working on the film.

Donna Sommers was Andy’s “clumsy girl” of the film. I think he likes watching me fall and make a fool out of myself. Ha. I’m pretty good at it. Working on the film I would liken to having a BBQ pool party with a bunch of awesome people while having great conversations over drinks. It was so much fun! Never feels like work.

2. How stoked are you that “Werewolf in a Girls Sorority” is screening at the Twin Cities Film Fest 2012? Will you be dazzling up the red carpet?

I’m so stoked! That’s actually just the word I would use too… It’s fantastic! I’m so thrilled to be a part of what Andy is creating! His ideas and execution of his work is so different then anything that I have worked on in the past, or anything that’s being done today for that matter. I wish that I could be there for the red carpet, but unfortunately I won’t be able to make this one. Maybe next year if I’m so lucky.

3. What would be your dream role?

That’s a hard one to answer, I have so many dream roles! But the first thing that comes to my head is I’ve not yet seen an amazing biopic on the incomparable Maria Callas. I spent many years training as a classical vocalist and it would be my dream to pay homage to one of my biggest idols. It’s said she died of a broken heart.

4. Who is the one actor you can’t wait to star with and why?

I know so many people say this but its obvious why, Jim Carrey. He’s fucking brilliant. But if we are going to go a little bit of a less transparent route I’d say Vera Farmiga. Her subtleties on screen make my head spin. I love her, I love everything she does.

5. Your focus has shifted to music recently. Can you tell us more about life as a singer?

I actually started as a singer. It was my first love and closest to my heart. People often ask me which I would rather do, and my answer is always both. It all stems from the same place, performance is performance. For me though it is much scarier singing my songs then acting in anything. You put your soul on the line when you write your own music, and there is a rush you get when you perform those songs in front of a live audience. I’ve become addicted to it. I’m also going to be releasing my first E.P. by the end of this year! I’m super excited and terrified of course.

6. I read that you’re a gamer and did some voice-over for 3D games. What’s the most fun aspect of that experience?

I am! Voice over is a blast, and one of my favorite things to do. I worked on a project by Square ENIX a bit ago called “Front Mission Evolved”. I played Adela, Wizard and Gloria for voice over and I did the motion capture for those characters as well. I can’t tell you enough how much fun it was. You get paid to make up crazy voices for different characters in my case, and play “make believe” with little glowing balls covering your body. What’s better then that?!

7. Actors regularly live out the different facets of a character. What are the type of roles that get you excited?

Dark. Twisted. I like to dig deep for roles, playing characters that are very different then myself. Villains for example. These characters tend to be more multifaceted, so that gives me a lot of room to play and plenty for a director to mold with. I’m also a big fan of period pieces, dialects are my forte and my look tends to lend itself well to the past.

8. Any juicy updates on your future projects?

Well, I’m excited to say that my album is nearly complete, which means performances and a possible tour. A film noir piece is in the works with KJ Downes as well as a beautiful, heart breaking Indie called “The Fifth Season” by up and coming writer David Trisko. Sandra McCoy and I (who is also in Werewolf) are also going to be in a new Web Series together. I don’t think I can say the name quite yet, but it is in the works.

9. If given the choice, which is the one country besides the US you would want to spend time filming a feature?

Italy. Hands down. I unfortunately have not been over seas yet, but from my own studies and friends stories, I think it might be one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I want to go there.

10. Finally, is there anything you would like to tell your fans and admirers out there?

Thank you so much! I’m unbelievable grateful and humbled by your support and I’ll keep putting stuff out there for your viewing and listening pleasure! And please check out my music and like me on the OLIVIA HENRY FACEBOOK PAGE. Thank you again!

Rising Starlet: Megan Heyn

 alt=  alt=

Comediennes do have a way with words and the delightfully gorgeous MEGAN HEYN has all the right attributes to be a comedic maven. She caught the eye on “2 Broke Girls” as the dreadlocked, zen-like boulangerie owner Semhar who gets on the nerve of both Max Black (Kat Dennings) and Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs). Check out her reel (above) for the priceless scene as the 3 get into some verbal discourse that tickles me every time I view it….:) Megan gave as good as she got and has the natural flair to be the next Amy Poehler. They did star together in “Freak Dance”, the satire of dancing films such as “Footloose” and “Step Up” with Amy playing her mom. Megan plays the rebellious rich girl with a thing for street dancing and is a fetching gem who also dazzles in the singing department.

How about that adorable voice of hers which for me can get quickly addictive as will the winsome captivation MEGAN has in plenitude. Check out the MEGAN HEYN OFFICIAL SITE and see her web series “Hollywood Taffy” where she excels as a wannabe starlet whose is naive yet sometimes too smart for her own good. Her guest-starring role on “Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23″ had her channeling a similarly jovial streak. On a darker note, she recently appeared in the horror flick “Rift”, a tale of college students brutally murdered in a small college town. MEGAN’s ability to show her adorable nature as well as a lovable edginess will have her highly prized in no time.

Rising Starlet: Juli Piechovski

 alt=  alt=

Being the first Polish-American actress featured on this blog, JULI PIECHOVSKI would arouse interest when visitors chanced upon her captivating factor. Her Eastern-european charms and radiant personality offers up a versatility in her beauty that’s to be admire. Plus she’s been ever so nice in giving me an insight into her upcoming projects so let the enchantment begin! This summer she’s attached to an avante garde psychological mystery feature film with the working title, “We Are Broken”. Playing the lead, Calliope the movie is currently in pre-production. She also appears in Tony Martinez’s feature “I’m Going To Graceland” as well as being attached to a pilot by Pinksy Brother. At Cannes 2012, she was in 2 films namely “The Fantastic Clown Club,” and “Choices,” which won Best Short Film.

How we wish we were at the fabulous riviera to admire her work but fret not, “Choices” is already making the festival rounds and there’ll be plenty of avenues to be in awe of JULI. The JULI PIECHOVSKI OFFICIAL SITE is very informative and TV viewers will recognize that JULI was a recurring guest on Krysten Ritter’s comedy series “Don’t Trust The Bitch in Apartment 23″. She’s been lauded as a talent who can illuminate the screen be it in an indie flick or an artsy feature. After all, JULI is fabulously photogenic which has seen her dazzle as a fashion model. 2012 is looking to be the breakthrough year for her.

Rising Starlet: Justine Lupe

http://vimeo.com/18002306

One can already call JUSTINE LUPE a TV Siren for not only is she an onscreen beauty, this eye-catching blonde is ever so pleasant. If you’ve already fond of her then it might have something to do with her appearances on Season 2 of “Harry’s Law”. Playing the intelligent new attorney on the block Phoebe Blake, she fascinated us in 8 episodes and although “Harry’s Law” was not renewed, she left a sustainable impression. Her debut on the series was one of effervescent delight and the way she announces herself in TV Land with those words “Hey, Hey” is striking! Wonderfully entrancing would be an accolade I’ll gladly bestow on her for endowing her character Phoebe with such definitive vivaciousness. Just as she did when she guest-starred in “Unforgettable” as a socialite, JUSTINE is fetchingly charismatic.

There’s even an online reviewer who after watching the judiciary show “Fairly Legal” wished for a pretty attorney like Phoebe (who JUSTINE depicts so appealingly) to appear. We won’t have to wait long before we’re treated to more of radiant JUSTINE as her next role is that of a party girl in the movie “Not Fade Away”. Also look out for her in an indie drama with Jennifer Carpenter called “Ex-Girlfriends” which should be released soon. Fans in Asia would be excited to know JUSTINE’s been featured in the Japanese edition of ELLE thanks to her flowing locks. Her popularity is certainly set to proliferate in the coming months. Check her out in “Californication” opposite David Duchovny and Maggie Grace!

Rising Starlet: Jessica Whitaker

 alt=  alt=

Ever since Katie Holmes embodied the quintessential girl next door Joey in “Dawson’s Creek”, we’ve always held an undying fascination for cuteness and actress JESSICA WHITAKER radiates with a similar purity. Just like Katie, Jessica also hails from the state of Ohio…indeed they both have gorgeous genes! That doesn’t mean she can’t turn on the sexiness once in a while as she did belly-dancing (above) in the horror romp “Killjoy 3″. JESSICA plays Sandy who gets plunged into the world of the demonic clown-faced Killjoy and has to save her skin by means of seduction. One can see JESSICA had fun sashaying her flawless body and for me the most memorably amusing part was when as Sandy, she revealed to Killjoy that she’s a virgin hence sealing the tempting act. Check out the behind the scenes video (also above) of that “love-making” scene plus interview snippets with the lovely JESSICA. She’s an absolute sweetheart and interestingly enough, everything was filmed in China. Harking back to the good old days when horror didn’t take itself too seriously or populated with emo kids and having JESSICA as the heroine was wonderfully apt! She’s massively easy on the eyes and I love that she’s allowed the license to be playful.

JESSICA does traverse the horror route once more in suspense thriller “The Guest” which was an official selection at several festivals last year and stars Alyshia Ochse (i’m doing up a feature on her soon too). She’s also in a series of dramatic shorts, one of which is “Grass Is In Never Greener”. So fetchingly serene, it’s easy to get ourselves infatuated with her. In the prosperous arena of independent films, keep a watchful eye on the beautiful JESSICA WHITAKER whose flourishing talents are not too be missed.
