Let me introduce JENNA JOHNSON, leading lady of the supernatural short film “The Graveyard Shift” who will ostensibly inspire great affection. She fondly recalls “The Graveyard Shift” as her druggie debut and since it’s screening at the New Orleans Horror Film Festival on the 28th of October, we’ll be able catch her gripping performance. The teaser clip of her character foaming in the mouth after a drug overdose is as mysterious as the circumstances that led to her predicament and will leave you wanting answers in a hurry. Written and directed by April Wright who has won numerous awards for her work in independent cinema means its a must-see! Women in-front and behind the camera are a one-two punch that’s pretty irresistible. That might also have something to do with JENNA’s telling cuteness…:)
It used to be Helen of Troy had the face that launched a thousand ships back in the day but being enigmatic should have been in the reckoning too. JENNA’s demure smile is one to treasure and if you’ve seen her retro photo shoot, you’ll acknowledge that she would have been a perfect embodiment of exuberant beauty in whichever era. I would love to see her cast in those comedies where coyness were the order of the day, harking back to the time when Doris Day used to enthrall audiences, particularly when JENNA herself is endowed with delightful girl-next-door qualities. You must have seen “Colombiana” like I did recently whereby Zoe Saldana was all highly-charged raciness. Then I came across GINA with her foxy mix of Italian, Spanish and Puerto Rican and I was equally hooked. Her arresting Latin-European looks and delectable curves provoking a different kind of fascination as opposed to the slinky hotness of Zoe. When Esquire comes calling for a photo shoot, it’s no surprise that GINA is ranked as one of the sexiest women alive joining the illustrious company of Katrina Bowden and Minka Alley before her. Even though rumors still abound that she had a ‘lesbian tryst in the shower’ scene in the gripping thriller “30 Days To Die”, she did shed a little of her Sex Bomb image as tough chick Sophia and going toe-to-toe with a George Bush masked killer.
She does however get involved in some sexy high-jinks in her upcoming film “Black Widow”, a tale of massage and murder with Jennifer O’Dell, Rachel Hunter, Janine Turner and Joanna Pacula rounding off a delicious cast. Julie R. Ølgaard & Synnøve Macody Lund in “Headhunters”
Julie R. Ølgaard is an award-winning actress who is also one of the most charismatic actresses that have ever graced the Danish Film scene. Formerly a student at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in LA, she returned to her native Denmark and swiftly began dazzling the industry over there. Famed for being the missing woman (the US remake calls her Rosie Larsen) so central in the hit Danish series “The Killing”, Julie has heaps of magnetism that it wouldn’t be inconceivable for anyone to want to rescue her. She’s appearing in the fast-paced heist thriller “Headhunters” screening at Fantastic Fest that promises to be hugely exciting. Fellow Blonde Synnøve Macody Lund is the film’s obvious leading lady who is nude in a number of scenes on her debut. What better than to be mesmerized by this pair of Danish Vixens.

Ashley Bell in “The Day”
She announced her arrival as an intense actress with an emotional tidal wave of a performance in “The Last Exorcism”. As Nell Sweetzer, Ashley Bell’s version of the Linda Blair-like demonic possession dispenses with the pea vomit, opting for a scarred psyche and some astounding back contortions which she gamely performed herself without any CGI! She’s making a habit of being a survivor onscreen be it from The Devil or the horrors of an apocalypse such as in “The Day”. It’s “Mad Max” meets “The Road” as Ashley wields her 9mm Berretta and shotgun in the face of impeding death. The psychedelic rock from “Explosions In The Sky” in the teaser (above) already foretells of the disquiet tension before the storm for this must-see film. Yet another demanding role in which Ashley will evidently ace!

Emma Lock In “The Human Centipede:Full Sequence”
About to play a major part in “The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence”, Emma Lock is destined to achieve cult status by the time this even more controversial sequel ends its run. She’s in the largely British cast who have been tasked to deliver on the ’100% medically inaccurate’ shocks that shook up the genre last year and spawned such a cultural phenomenon (South Park’s Centipad comes to mind)! Emma is a multilingual model/actress of Spanish/Chinese descent with eternally enchanting features. Hailing from West London, she has performed in indie films, theatre productions and has even done voice over work for BBC radio. Have a peek at the teaser trailer of her new thriller Drive-By-Sunset”. Emma is sweetly captivating as there’s a whole lot of sensual intrigue behind her doe-eyes and lively innocence..
Jessica Chastain is proabably getting the plaudits as she has done all year but don’t forget there’s another talented lady in the existential drama “Take Shelter”. Just like the hallucinatory themes of the film, we’ll be fantasizing about Katy Mixon even if she’s more of a supporting act this time around. The helium-voiced, busty beauty has been heating up TV land for years in popular series “Eastbound and Down” as well as “Mike and Molly” utilizing that kooky sex appeal of hers. Audiences are calling her eminently watchable on “Mike and Molly” and at the very least should have been nominated as Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy (leading lady Melissa McCarthy did triumphed as Best Actress). While we may certainly lust after this sassy Sex Symbol, its those helpings of Southern Belle geniality that keeps us coming back for more.
There’s really heaps of thunder from Down Under when referring to the impact of Australian Actresses and their invasion of the US Film market. Expect Sharni Vinson to provide some of it as this cutie stars in “You’re Next”, the all-the-rage horror entry at this year’s Fantastic Fest. Touted as the new “Scream”, the smart home invasion flick could transform Sharni into a household name not unlike how Neve Campbell is often put on the pedestal for being a Terror Hottie. And because she posed for Maxim Australia, I’ll let it slide that “You’re Next” doesn’t have a trailer out yet. Plus it’s now under the Lionsgate label and we all know how fantastic their stable of films have been. Ogle at her behind the scenes Maxim shoot (above)…her sexy accent, carefree hair and supple bod (which we saw plenty in Step Up 3D) is quite the arousing factor!
Ravishing Blonde SUSIE ABROMEIT is quickly becoming an industry trailblazer and she’s sharing screen time with some very big names. 50 Cents, Margo Martindale, Patrick Wilson and Julie Benz are some of the illustrious company she’ll be starring with on both film and television. You’ve probably come across her Maxim shoot (above) that has her in revealing swimsuits that emphasizes her curves and unmistakably teasing her way into our lives. Inevitably a knight in shining armor deftly comes to her rescue albeit on celluloid and it’s TV Veteran Brian Austin Green as a vigilante crime fighter imbued with ancient powers in actioner “Cross”. His reward is a canoodling session (above) with Susie’s liberated damsel Sunshine and it’s abundantly clear she’s the spicier of the two…:)
It’s interesting to note that she went to Duke University on a tennis scholarship and she gets to parade all the right moves in the new TV series “Gifted Man” as well as the upcoming romance “16-Love”. Ever since she caught the eye in the rowdy comedy “I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell”, she has gone on to dazzle in several indie flicks and will be prominent in the Bruce Willis/Ryan Phillipe vehicle “Setup” that saw her gaining superstar rapper 50 Cents approval! By far her biggest exposure was on “Battle: Los Angeles” proving that aliens weren’t just the biggest draw for that blockbuster….somewhat takes me back to the day when starlet Isabel Lucas announced her arrival in that other explosive alien saga Transformers! There’s quite a discernible resemblance between SUSIE and Isabel I must say, the runway-worthy looks for instance. The “Pirates Of The Caribbean” meets “Robinson Crusoe” fish out of water tale “The Mysterious Island” adapted from the ageless Jules Verne novel is yet another fascinating film with SUSIE as a leading lady. Unquestionably on a roll, she’s steadily bringing her foxiness to every corner of the globe.
By coincidence or not, it seems like a blonde fest so far this week and I’m continuing in the same vein with CAITY LOTZ who has already left men drooling with her tempting Esquire shoot. Be it the sly nipple exposure or the flash of her pert derrière, CAITY has the assets to sizzle! She’s also starring in the upcoming MTV Series “Death Valley” as Kirsten Landry, an excitable Undead Task Force agent and having watched the trailer, she amazed me right from the start with the astounding spinning kick! Beware Vampires, Werewolves and Zombies as you get schooled by the Princess of Hard Knocks. Check out the video (above) of CAITY teaching us how to defend against them pesky Undead horde. This girl can do some seriously high impact stunts including parkour…huge props to her athleticism and flexibility she’s honed through the years as a dancer. After all, she has toured with mega star Lady Gaga and bust those dance moves on the film “Step Up 3D”. Slated to grace the massive 2011 Edition of Comic Con in San Diego, it’s pretty much guaranteed fans will come in droves to the “Death Valley” panel to cast amorous eyes on this blossoming TV Hottie. Have you seen the pic of CAITY pursing her lips…downright Sultry! To be able to combine intense physicality and appealing sauciness is breathtaking so much so I would love to see her in “Kick Ass 2″ be it as a supervillain or an ally of Hit Girl/Kick Ass.
Remember her as Stephanie in “Mad Men”, Anna Draper’s niece who despite her desirable status doesn’t subscribe to the norms of society in the 60s, a time when women were objectified. It’s great to see for once Mr Casanova Jon Hamm unable to get his hands on an enchanting lady. VICTORIA belongs to this exclusive group of ladies I like to call the AFTER DARK HORRORFEST HOTTIES whom I regularly fawn over through the years. By virtue of her impressive turn in the socio-political allegory ‘ZMD:ZOMBIES OF MASS DESTRUCTION’, I was bowled over by how funny she was at the start of the indie flick when Judy (her character) mistook her neighbor for an Iraqi, a reflection of the stereotypes we sometimes label on others. That’s way before she turns into a flesh-chomping zombie we have come to obsess…I definitely love VICTORIA’S Bite…hehe.
