HOLLIS WITHERSPOON is certainly an upcoming talent to be excited about, more so since she stars in “One Last Time” which screens at the Short Film Corner at Cannes Film Festival 2013. What we can envision that it’s not just the high profile flicks getting all the attention as there’s an ever growing pool of short films deserving of recognition. By virtue of this so shall the actresses in them be looked upon as noteworthy talents. With her attractively, large eyes which I’ve come to know as being called neotenous features (a characteristic of youth), HOLLIS projects a lasting and young appeal onscreen. Although her role in “One Last Time” rides on a nonchalant flirtiness, she’s spot on with the mannerisms. This is achieved in part to the formulation of her character by constantly observing the traits of people around her. She rates Parkey Posey highly who is incidentally one of my idols.
She also once said in an interview that the biggest allure of acting for her is in the challenge. It’s never easy getting under the skin of an intended character for any actress and yet HOLLIS has gamely delivered as authentic a work as she has so often done. She’s also been active on the theatre scene with acclaim as a member of the Old Kent Road Theatre. She does have an innate fearlessness allowing her to explore different psyches. Watch for her to shine even more in the coming months!
Cannes Film Festival 2013 Spotlight: Rising Starlet Velinda Godfrey

With Cannes 2013 only days away, the focus is on emerging women of the screen and VELINDA GODFREY is someone we’ll be adoring soon enough. Whether in France or the world over, she’ll be celebrated as her film “Adonis” is screening at the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at this year’s Cannes! With its innovative use of green-screen, we’re taken into a colorful toy world with the premise of cuteness by way of Adonis the dog who turns into the center of attraction. The other enchanter of the short film is of course VELINDA who plays JENNI and as the director David Dibble himself readily admits she’s a honey; ‘Every Girl Here Is Beautiful’ being the effusive words by David which is a clear reference to the captivating VELINDA. There’s also Ernie Hudson adding comic flavor to this most intriguing of stories.

We clearly put the cutest actresses on a pedestal and VELINDA has all the right facets to keep us entranced. Those who are avid viewers would have seen her in “The Truth About Angels” which also starred Candice Accola of “The Vampire Diaries” fame. It wouldn’t surprise me if the very pretty VELINDA attains a similar level of fame in a relatively short span of time. Inexhaustible praise can be conferred on actress MURISA HARBA for she’s drop dead gorgeous from head to toe. Seeing how a blonde namely Gwyneth Paltrow has been lauded as the most beautiful woman by People Magazine, it’s a given to feature MURISA who herself is just so heavenly. Check out her latest REEL where she absolutely enchants from the first till the last frame. The Jamie Kennedy comedy “Lost and Found In Armenia” was the film where she had her eye-catching moments as her reel will confirm. Her Eastern European roots makes her gloriously classy and she comes off as naturally approachable too. As her appearance in the Kyle Puccia music video “Broken People” (above), MURISA can touch the hearts of viewers in other ways too. Heart-wrenchingly magnetic in the video, I’m sure many will agree she has an endearing and divine appeal.

She does have the va-va-voom figure which accentuates the foxy facets she’s endowed. Rising Starlet: Shevaun Kastl

Captivating with a Capital “C”, SHEVAUN KASTL has certifiably pleasing yet insanely gorgeous features, reflective of her enchanting nature. Her appeal is one of growth, reeling us in with absolute sweetness and one that extends beyond the screen. Recognizable for being on hit shows such as “Criminal Minds” and “Revenge” where she first came to my attention, SHEVAUN is natural in her delivery of the nuances no matter how small in the characters she has played. She did inform me that Mike Kelley, the Creator of “Revenge” is like family to her and the director Bobby Roth of the episode “Justice” are great friends. Watch for more developments as she will be working together with Bobby again soon. She’s also been collaborating with the ever-present actor Robert Knepper of “Prison Break” fame, Mr T-Bag himself in the short film “The Mourning Hour” and before that in “Heroes”. “The Mourning Hour” captures the chronicles a woman’s journey to discover her place in the world. Set in rural, 1950′s America, SHEVAUN has the looks and the grace to represent the delicately emotive role of a housewife seeking answers in her life.
Seeing how she is also the producer/writer, the content of the film is inspired from areas in her personal life and that usually means a very realistic take on things. SHEVAUN did however encountered tragedy in her life recently but I admire greatly her spirit to continue shining brightly in her craft. In terms of personality, she has her feet firmly planted on the ground which means our devotion to her is set to grow even more. The Girl To Watch in 2013; That’s one accolade SHEVAUN would be in line to achieve…:)

Presenting Camille Collard who can easily be our Girl Crush, this is one gal with an effervescent allure we won’t be able to forget. I was actually out with my colleague Camille for almost half a day and it feels like kismet to feature an actress bearing the same name. Somehow blue-eyed blondes just seem to take a hold of me in ways I can’t explain and Camille is simply ravishing very much in the same vein as Teresa Palmer. 2012 was a great one for her and it seems she’s about to take off in 2013! This past year in Portland, she’s worked on several commercials, had a co-star role on “Leverage” (episode 505) and been in several short films. The biggest news is of course her lead role in “Pageant Girl” that’s currently in post-production. On “Leverage”, Camille has shown enough to suggest her potential to affect audiences with a range of emotions. Being a model, she’s evidently eye-catching too…:)
Some Insider News From Camille herself: She’s planning a big move for the near future to LA! Her relocation will surely help her to grow as quickly as possible and is one she’s excited yet nervous about at the same time. She sees LA as the next step in her acting journey and one that will open up many more opportunities. Yet she feels lucky to have been plying her trade in the Portland industry, learning and evolving at the same time.
While she’s had long and sometimes difficult moments in her fledgling career, her passion can be seen from this quote: “I can’t remember a time when I haven’t wanted to be anything other than an actress… It was always just a given for me. I never thought about doing anything else.” We as fans can do our part by supporting her.

Some actresses are stunning as both a blonde or a brunette and MICHELLE PASCARELLA is intensely attractive with both shades of hair colors. The peek-a-boo photo (above left) is a clear tell-tale of how captivating she can be and there’s every indication she’s a dazzler onscreen too. In the trailer of “Business Or Pleasure”, she plays Rebekah a college student who inevitably finds love in the most unlikeliest of places…a lingerie store! Potently sweet is how she can be described as MICHELLE does have the necessary charms to have people queuing in line to fall for her. Those magnetic eyes of hers do mesmerize and building an affinity with her comes easily. When she’s a blonde, MICHELLE seems to possess the gripping cuteness much like A.J. Cook of “Criminal Minds” fame.
I did sense she’s a genuine looker after spotting her in the series “The Forgotten”. So what do you guys and girls think? Is she more beautiful with blonde or raven hair? After browsing her IMDB Page, I also realized she once acted alongside Candice Accola from “The Vampire Diaries” and sooner or later, MICHELLE could ascend the very same heights that Candice has achieved on television. At 5′ 2″, she’s a petite beauty who has the necessary charisma to win us over.

Expressive features on an actress is to be coveted and CATHERINE WARNER has invitingly, compelling attributes that stirs hearts. This can be seen in the number of reviews praising her heavenly personality, especially those reflecting on her performance in the tense short film “Earrings”. From the subtle, multi-layered execution of her tragic role to impressing as the leading lady in what was essentially a limited-dialogue content, CATHERINE made believers out of several independent film buffs. At Shockfest 2012, she is again one of the leads of another short “Nibble” which this time delves into horror territory. While we have yet to see a trailer, the synopsis points to a creature feature and tells of a typical young man who apparently has something living in the confines of his walls at home.
It will intriguing to find out how CATHERINE fits into the story and we may just find she’s on course to hypnotize us once again. The Twin Cities Film Festival introduces yet another rising starlet in the form of exciting talent DANI PALMER. After the deluge of stunning brunettes this past week, it’s great to have a cute blonde on this blog and DANI who stars in the short film “On Time” is going to pique your interest. Listening to how the drama’s producer/editor Thomas Clapper effuses much-deserved praises on Dani’s captivating subtlety, it heralds her finesse as an actress. The independent scene may have less money revolving about it but you can bet there’s a group of fantastic women like DANI who are shining examples. Her distinctive beauty and precious smile are bound to be loved by viewers who know how to appreciate a uniquely eye-catching face.
“On Time” sees her playing the love interest of a man who realizes breaking up with her is painful yet it is the only way he can mobilize his existence in the short time he’s given. The interesting yet true subject matter of one being limited by the hours of a day is actually applicable in our lives, where we are somewhat subjected to the curbs placed on us by the hands of time.
