Channeling elegance on the red carpet at “Dances with Films” just hours ago, JENNIFER LAFLEUR is set to steal hearts thanks to her relatable disposition. Sometimes you can know when an actress is accommodating and JENNIFER’s dazzling smile can certainly be taken for more than just face value. Even after I told her time was tight for an interview, she went out of her way to provide me some juicy insight into her role in “Mutual Friends”. She was attached to the project from the beginning, and we played around with which role would be best for me. Having loved the role of Annie even though in some respects she was a villain in the movie: “The ex who comes back to town to try to win back her boyfriend who is now happily engaged and being thrown a surprise party by his new fiance.” But what drew her to the role was her connection to Annie despite the flaws as all humans are beset with and having the opinion that she was really just doing the best that she could. There’s a poignant line about people not really being afraid to be alone and that they are just afraid to start all over again. That very line is heartbreaking and Jennifer wholeheartedly felt for the sadness of her character. In one of her previous films “The Do-Deca-Pentathlon”, she pulled off the very nice job of creating sympathy from viewers and there lies the soundness of JENNIFER as a storyteller.
The origins of the story is that the director had actually asked 6 writers to write a storyline following a few parameters. Mainly that they be in their late 20′s/early 30′s, New Yorkers, and that the story end in a surprise party for someone named Christoph. He then took those storylines and weaved them into a cohesive script. Shot mostly in the directors apartment, using an empty apartment in the building as the “holding area” for actors who we sat around on folding chairs. Many of the actors knew each other before the film, but there were quite a few that were found by casting. So this was really the time when they all got to bond and develop friendships outside the film that really helped translate into our characters and the relationships they had inside the film. There are obvious signs that JENNIFER has what it takes to go far in the industry and with a role alongside Kristin Wiig in “The Skeleton Twins”, she could yet thrive as the next onscreen darling.
Dances With Films 2013 Spotlight: Indie Princess Sarah Elizabeth Johnston

Having seen a photo shoot of SARAH ELIZABETH JOHNSTON where she’s described as a natural at creating a great variety of facial expressions and moods, it speaks greatly of her enchanting visage. SARAH’s bluish-green eyes exemplify her comeliness which is evident in virtually all of the pics I’ve seen of her. In “The Insomniac” screening at Dances With Films 2013, she plays Jennifer who is the girlfriend of a young man who is tagged as a suspect in a housebreaking. It’s wonderful to see her role is one that’s multi-layered especially since the film itself has some thrilling elements. While she’s starring in a cast that also consists of the sizzling hot Clare Grant who is one of my idols, SARAH herself is a looker without a doubt.
One of her upcoming films is “Richard Peter Johnson” about the AVN Male Performer of the Year, Richard Peter Johnson who retires from pornography to pursue an acting career. Leading man James Franco is the titular character and this is a comedy that could possibly raise the profile of Miss SARAH ELIZABETH JOHNSTON. She has been active in the short film arena and with her getting juicier parts in several intriguing features, this mesmerizing young actress is headed for a period of endearment by viewers.
Dances With Films 2013 Spotlight: Rising Starlet Livia De Paolis

LIVIA DE PAOLIS is a multi-talented Rome-born actress who can tell a story in her own distinctive way. It’s so appropriate that the title of her feature is “Emoticon” with the rush of emotions that enthrall from start to finish. She stars as Elena who is grappling with intimacy issues as she discovers love in the digital age. It’s only through the new relationships she makes that is leading her to gain a better understanding of affection between one another. As a film-maker LIVIA has carved a heartwarming tale of the value of social media in the daily life of a person. It goes deeper than what we can see, those smiley signs so ubiquitous in the day and age are actually connectors that instill a sense of bonding.
Kudos to LIVIA for wearing so many hats namely as director, writer and producer on “Emoticon”. She has stated that acting and directing (and on a small budget) was quite intense. “Emoticon” is premiering on 5th of June 2013 and it’s the best opportunity to catch up on what will be a promising career for the pleasant and kind LIVIA. She does have a few projects coming out in the near future, one being an existential romantic thriller with tons of twists and turns. Infatuation can come in many forms and in the case of LIVIA, her honesty which she has the ability to translate onscreen is worthy of a following…;) Well I had to add that famed emoticon symbol somewhere!
Rising Starlet: Hillary Baack

Let’s all celebrate strong women for they remind us of how admirable they can be and HILLARY BAACK has both a drive and gregarious nature many will find appealing. With the L.A. premiere of “The East” on 31st May 2013, we’ll be transfixed on HILLARY who plays Eve, a member of an anarchist group conducting covert attacks on “evil” corporations. Starring alongside Brit Marling and Ellen Page, these are a trio of intelligent women who are able to project multi-layered performances. Despite having lost her hearing, Hillary has overcome the odds and shown she has a knack to be an industrious talent. Only hours ago, she lit up the red carpet in a very trendy dress with the cast of “The East” and could well be on the radars of many a director. She is an inspiration for all of us to chase our dreams for they do come true and HILLARY is living proof…:)
She joins the likes of Katie Leclerc from “Switched At Birth” who are shining bright whilst coping with hearing impairment be it permanent or temporary. Kudos to her for reiterating that no barrier is too big to overcome and her tireless dedication to acting has led to her current success. How can we not love those mesmerizing blue eyes and I reckon HILLARY should be invited to appear on a talk show such as The Late Late Show just like Ellen Page. Come on Craig! What are you waiting for! She certainly has my support and the reception she’ll be receiving will be one of positive commendation.

It’s never too late to keep tabs on upcoming actresses at CANNES and STACY ROCK could be the gal we’ll be wanting to fancy soon enough. While “Blue Ruin” may have been the buzzworthy film in the early part of CANNES, I’m sure it will be a favorite at the other film festivals on the horizon. It’s an off-kilter take on the revenge thriller themes which have captured our imagination ever since the advent of the nihilistic “Red White & Blue” back in 2010. That movie made stars of the cast post-Cannes and it would be history repeating itself if the actors on “Blue Ruin” get similar recognition. As much as STACY’s blue eyes and porcelain skin captivate, she’s known for her work on the cult indie hit “Murder Party” starring as the hot Lexi aka FUTURE BITCH. She did catch our attention with her platinum blonde locks and spacey outfit, all the playful charms of an onscreen vixen.
So a visit to the STACY ROCK OFFICIAL SITE should be your next destination. You’ll be pleased to know she’s a singer/songwriter who has drawn stellar reviews and her polished voice has been compared to Aimee Mann, PJ Harvey, and “a lady Tom Waits.” She’s been said to weave stories through her piano-laced music and likewise she has done in the roles she’s undertaken. Here’s a striking talent who is about to garner a following guaranteed to be enamored with her.

Yet again a Southern actress is steadily growing as an actress of blossoming ability and JESSICA LEMON WILKINSON has all the makings of a burgeoning performer to take note of. We already know the James Franco starrer, “As I Lay Dying” which is a take on the 1930 classic by Faulkner is gathering hype by the minute. In all likelihood, so shall the female cast inherit the love as well. JESSICA does star with luminaries such as Beth Grant (who is the central figure of the drama) and Ahna O’Reilly, making it a trio of adept women who can bring emotional depth to telling of a story. As the director, James Franco must have personally had an inkling that they were the right choices to be in the movie and after the premiere, he will be proven right.
Theatre is where JESSICA honed her skills to enchant viewers where critics have praised not only her presence on stage but also her singing. It’s about moving people and she’s put in her due diligence as someone whose work we need to admire. Remember to check out her demo reel at the JESSICA LEMON WILKINSON OFFICIAL SITE. 2013 could well be the breakthrough year for her and the juicy roles are sure to follow suit.

Stars of tomorrow are certainly emerging at CANNES and MISTY UPHAM is one who is on song to steal our hearts with a series of upcoming roles. Most significant of all, she will be at CANNES walking down the red carpet with leading man Benicio Del Toro for the premiere of “Jimmy P”. Buzz is swirling around for this film that deals with loss from a Native American perspective and surely eyes are on MISTY who in the press photos can be seen in scenes with Benicio. Apparently MISTY’s character JANE has a romantic liaison with Benicio’s Jimmy P which will be talked about by many. In fact, she has been a scene stealer before in the critically acclaimed hit “Frozen River” alongside Melissa Leo and it would be fitting if she garnered the plaudits this time around. Having been nominated for best supporting actress at the Independent Spirit Awards for embodying Lila Littlewolf in “Frozen River”.
As Lila the widowed Mohawak mum looking to reclaim her son from the mother-in-law while smuggling immigrants, MISTY was a revelation and showcased how great she is at delivering on conflicting emotions. She was able to sustain the attention of audiences who must have been fascinated with the multi-layered role MISTY so successfully made believable. Slated to star with the legendary Meryl Streep in “August: Osage County,” a dark comedy based on a play, things are looking very rosy indeed. It’s a key role for MISTY as Johnna Monevata, a Cheyenne woman hired as a live-in housekeeper by the Weston family whom has demanding matriarch Violet Weston of course played by Meryl Streep. So start admiring this most graceful Native American talent certain to make waves the world over!
Cannes Film Festival 2013 Spotlight: Rising Starlet Velinda Godfrey

With Cannes 2013 only days away, the focus is on emerging women of the screen and VELINDA GODFREY is someone we’ll be adoring soon enough. Whether in France or the world over, she’ll be celebrated as her film “Adonis” is screening at the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at this year’s Cannes! With its innovative use of green-screen, we’re taken into a colorful toy world with the premise of cuteness by way of Adonis the dog who turns into the center of attraction. The other enchanter of the short film is of course VELINDA who plays JENNI and as the director David Dibble himself readily admits she’s a honey; ‘Every Girl Here Is Beautiful’ being the effusive words by David which is a clear reference to the captivating VELINDA. There’s also Ernie Hudson adding comic flavor to this most intriguing of stories.
There’s every reason to drop by the VELINDA GODFREY OFFICIAL SITE and being smitten with her will come thereafter. We clearly put the cutest actresses on a pedestal and VELINDA has all the right facets to keep us entranced. Those who are avid viewers would have seen her in “The Truth About Angels” which also starred Candice Accola of “The Vampire Diaries” fame. It wouldn’t surprise me if the very pretty VELINDA attains a similar level of fame in a relatively short span of time. Seeing how “Adonis” is being well-received at so many film festivals, she’s set to be in the limelight.
