It’s another round of fascination for the ladies of film fests and CHELSEA RAE BERNIER is a hottie with the mesmerizing effect on most. It’s easy to be in awe of indie darlings when they’re as accessible as Sarah Hagan. Give her an “A” for likable charm for this lissome talent genuinely resonates in the features she’s done, most significantly in the Sundance fave “Jess+Moss”. She enchantingly delivers once more in “The Most Fun I’ve Ever Had With My Pants On” playing an actress with issues of her own and discovers new beginnings on a road trip with her high school friend. Sarah does have a distinctive appeal that sets her apart and she even does a high-nasal voice in her latest onscreen persona. She’s a versatile actress we should all passionately follow.

The True meaning of French Flair is how effortlessly sexy French women can be and Lila Salet is dropping with sexiness. Flattering her comes with the territory and she carries herself with sophistication on a very sweet level. Watch her in the violent, sex-drenched French-American production “Simon Killer” which promises to be a wild trip into the seedy side of Paris. Considering how photogenic Lila is with her kissable, full lips, it’s a stroke of genius in casting her in the erotic tale. Those inviting green-blue eyes of hers should yield a wave of devotees who have long desired European faces.

Don’t you think Stella Maeve has an old-world beauty that just keeps getting more and more praiseworthy every time you see her. It’s no wonder her choice of movies have invoked unforgettable memories from the 1970s. The bewitching actress of “The Runaways” and “The Manson Girls” is the perfect choice to play the feel-good women of that era which Stella emulates so well. Even in the indie film “Starlet”, she somehow manages to channel the understated hotness in her role as a pot-smoking dysfunctional roommate. Her name Stella means “A Promising Star” and that alone should augur well for her.

One of the industry’s under-rated talents, Vinessa Shaw may not often get the accolades she deserves but her longevity should point to her widespread appeal. Just like Parkey Posey who was only recognized after a long spell, Vinessa started off in a slew of independent features. Wes Craven’s exploitation-horror film “The Hills Have Eyes” gave her prominence and it’s great to see jumping into horror once again in “Come Out To Play”. She has faced mutants before and this time it will be a deadly confrontation between her character Beth and a group of sinister children. Unconventionally sexy, Vinessa does make us swoon…:)
Sizzling Cutie: Kandice Melonakos

Adorning labels on upcoming actresses is one of the sincerest form of flattery and KANDICE MELONAKOS does indeed have an abundance of prodigious talents. With a sultriness very much like a young Rose McGowan, her cool voguish looks ensure this Greek Hottie is set for plenty of attention. We’ll get to know her more intimately as KANDICE appears in the disturbing “Opus” scaring up Shriekfest 2011 this weekend. Effectively her debut in horror, the film’s distinctive concept that banks on the improvisation skills of the cast will have KANDICE portray the fear in her character on a deeper scale. She plays Summer, an aspiring actress who has no idea she’s the star of a slasher where you really die on camera! KANDICE is also a fixture in the music world, recognizable as Lola Blanc, blossoming singer/songwriter whose dance tune ‘I’m Alive’ was featured in Kristin Cavallari’s comedy “Wild Cherry”.
On top of being in my fav band Lifehouse’s music video “Halfway Gone’” she goes all video vixen in gothic glory for Interpol’s “Lights” as well as the ‘Let The Right One In’ inspired “If You Let Me” by Chrissie Hynde. Swedish novelist John Ajvide Lindqvist would be proud of such a bold interpretation by her culminating in the dismemberment of bodies amidst the snowy bleakness. It’s easy to see why she cites Fiona Apple as her musical influence as her song writing comes from personal experiences be they dark or otherwise. In fact, she’s quite the fascinating figure, having been raised in a Mormon family and involved in a wrangle with a cult leader before relocating to Hollywood. We’re very much ready for KANDICE, the raven-haired vamp to invite us into her bewitching world.
Indie Princess: Lindsay Goranson

There’s a beguiling subtlety in the way LINDSAY GORANSON portrays various characters in her career yet she’s able to be considerably breathtaking each time. In the flesh of the seductress Estelle from “Sweets” which is said to be the most perverse segment from “The Theatre Bizarre”, LINDSAY is Psychedelic Horror’s leading lady enticing men into the arms of bloodthirsty cult of females. Just like Emma Roberts from “Scream 4″, don’t you love it when the females have the upper hand when it comes to wanton killing! Whether she meant to or not, seeing LINDSAY channeling the spirit of Bette Davis from the classic “Whatever Happen To Baby Jane” on the promo cover of the Montreal Mirror is both creepily impactful and jarringly bewitching. The pic of her in deranged doll make-up licking a bleeding heart (above) has disturbing brilliance written all over that will unmistakably leave horror fans eating out of her hands. Praises have come from many quarters for her instinctive onscreen talents.
The thrills keep on coming as LINDSAY is set to star in the survival horror of “The Blinds” set at a high stakes poker game as well the gripping “Caveat”. The latter, a classic battle of wits between five sisters over a family inheritance and the engrossing teaser suggests that LINDSAY could very well play the most maniacal sibling of them all. She has also kept me posted on a more revealing trailer in the works and that spookiness will be a huge part of this psychological thriller. The informative LINDSAY GORANSON OFFICIAL SITE is the best way to keep up to date on the many exciting films she’s part of. LINDSAY’s forays into features of compelling note will be watched with avid interest in 2011, what will be a busy year for this gifted actress.
Blonde Bombshell: Jessica Just

It’s been a while since I featured a Blue-Eyed Blonde that takes your breath away and model/actress JESSICA JUST is a goddess. Since she’s Youth Program Coordinator with her very own show covering LALIFF(Latino International Film Fest) 2011 which runs till 25th July, it’s essential to have her in the spotlight. She’ll be posting clips of red-carpet arrivals as well as featuring the on-going festivities at this premiere event. Keep updated on this Film Fiesta recognizing Latin Talents by perusing this LALIFF Web Portal. Away from her festival duties, JESSICA is noted for the deliciously priceless tease in the defining teen comedy “Sex Drive” as the horny teen Lindsay. Her seduction to deflower a virgin involves yummy finger licking or I should say proceeding to lustily suck on two fingers with her lips…hehe. In a sea of raunchy moments, that lascivious scene was a sure fire turn-on thanks to JESSICA and she can certainly impress in a comedic role. Keep an eye out for Jessica in the star-studded psychological thriller “Sound Of Mind” alongside some of my fav actresses such as Serena Lorien and Tara Cardinal. Plenty of rumors are circling that heavyweights Rutger Hauer, Thora Birch, Jeremy Piven and Jim Caviezel are coming on board.
Don’t forget to visit the JESSICA JUST OFFICIAL SITE and see with you own eyes how her lusciousness has adorned comedies, indies flicks, shorts and various photo shoots. Actually she’s been modeling/acting since the age of 3 and look at the photogenic stunner she’s developed into! She’s also someone who’s always willing to be involved in all aspects of the entertainment industry having developed a school curriculum for students aspiring to create short films and being a red-carpet event interviewer. JESSICA is more than just a pretty face and she’s going to be a lady of enchantment for a long time to come.
Rising Starlet: Jessica Whitaker

|
Ever since Katie Holmes embodied the quintessential girl next door Joey in “Dawson’s Creek”, we’ve always held an undying fascination for cuteness and actress JESSICA WHITAKER radiates with a similar purity. Just like Katie, Jessica also hails from the state of Ohio…indeed they both have gorgeous genes! That doesn’t mean she can’t turn on the sexiness once in a while as she did belly-dancing (above) in the horror romp “Killjoy 3″. JESSICA plays Sandy who gets plunged into the world of the demonic clown-faced Killjoy and has to save her skin by means of seduction. One can see JESSICA had fun sashaying her flawless body and for me the most memorably amusing part was when as Sandy, she revealed to Killjoy that she’s a virgin hence sealing the tempting act. Check out the behind the scenes video (also above) of that “love-making” scene plus interview snippets with the lovely JESSICA. She’s an absolute sweetheart and interestingly enough, everything was filmed in China. Harking back to the good old days when horror didn’t take itself too seriously or populated with emo kids and having JESSICA as the heroine was wonderfully apt! She’s massively easy on the eyes and I love that she’s allowed the license to be playful.
JESSICA does traverse the horror route once more in suspense thriller “The Guest” which was an official selection at several festivals last year and stars Alyshia Ochse (i’m doing up a feature on her soon too). She’s also in a series of dramatic shorts, one of which is “Grass Is In Never Greener”. So fetchingly serene, it’s easy to get ourselves infatuated with her. In the prosperous arena of independent films, keep a watchful eye on the beautiful JESSICA WHITAKER whose flourishing talents are not too be missed.
Euro Vixen: Nicole Marischka

After watching the actioner “Hanna” recently where there were numerous quips about Berlin and Leipzig, I felt compelled to spotlight Nicole Marischka, a starlet who herself resides in Berlin as well as Munich, Germany. Thanks to our inter-connected world, I get to enjoy arthouse dramas such as “Everybody Else” aka “Alle Anderen” which wouldn’t have happened a few years back. Getting in touch with one of the film’s stars, the accomplished NICOLE MARISCHKA is also a big plus. NICOLE certainly has plenty to offer as she did in “Everybody Else” as Sana, a well-respected clothes designer who together with her husband has an uneasy tension with a young couple. The complex emotionalism that Nicole and her fellow cast mates develop through “Everybody Else” is absorbing as we see the relationship between the dysfunctional quartet gradually break down. There’s a believable sincerity as tumultuous love and jealousy play out, making us reflect on how we regularly compare ourselves with others in a bid to keep up with the Joneses. Following “Everybody Else”, NICOLE proves why she’s a stealing beauty in war drama “Fateful Years” aka “Schicksalsjahre” and even has a topless scene at the beach….how more enticing can she get…a whole lot more!!
A established comedic starlet on German television, NICOLE is also at ease on stage and has sang cabaret at various revues exhibiting her multi-talented qualities. Check out the clip (above) to be entertained by her flirty, singing style and she’s adorably elegant. We’ve already seen France together with Spain become the excellent talent machine and carried on with the rise of Nordic Princesses such as Noomi Rapace. German actresses could be the Next Wave of Screen Sirens if they haven’t come good already and I like that they’re enchanting moviegoers in their native language! The rise and rise of Europe’s female talents is set to continue with NICOLE gaining in stature as one of the leading lights.
Hot Actress #486 – Lorraine Stanley: British Vixen

Hitting Asia soon is the spirited drama “Made In Dagenham” so there’s nothing better than showcasing one of the film’s stars, LORRAINE STANLEY. In this re-telling of the 1968 Ford sewing machinists strike that precipitated Equal Pay for women, it’s always going to be a crowd puller thanks to its empowering themes. Cheekily the movie is being coined as “We Want Sex” in parts of Europe but at its root is an inspirational story especially in our time when there seems to be a resurgence of racism, chauvinism and elitism on the web. Kudos to the gifted female cast for their thought provoking potrayals of these equal rights activists who refuse to sit back and do nothing when they saw injustice. LORRAINE herself was previously lauded thanks to her work on “London To Brighton” which was so gutsy and stirring that she was nominated for British Actress of the Year by the London Film Critics’ Circle along big names Helen Mirren, Dame Judi Dench and Kate Winslet. So outstanding as the prostitute with a heart of gold in “London To Brighton”, she boldly takes on some of the most darkest roles with ease. So I thank the lucky stars to be in touch with such a reputed actress and I can vouch she’s so lovable and soft-spoken..:)
I’ll always remember her first words to me: “Its such a hard game so to be appreciated is tops!!” demonstrating just how humbly endearing she is as a person. Being so grounded despite the bright lights of movie premieres and red carpet events, LORRAINE incorporates such warmheartedness on top of her cultured talents! From sporting a disfigured face on film to her intensity in various television roles (including being labeled brilliant on “Law and Order UK”), here’s a consummate actress who pushes the limits in order to give heartfelt performances, indeed she is a born entertainer. Thus, I’m always Dead Cert (she appears in that vampires/gangsters mashup) in praising British Sirens like LORRAINE STANLEY..:)
