Mesmerizing seems to be the common praise associated with JAIMI PAIGE and it’s absolutely merited. Certainly on stage, she’s cited as an innately charming ingénue who has caught the eye every so often, most recently in the play “Sleeping Ugly”. JAIMI has both the pin-up beauty and sweet innocence to garner ardor from a cross section of viewers. When it comes to approaching a role, she strives to find her own truth in fleshing out a character. On “The Mentalist”, she played Charlotte Mitchell, an unfortunate journalist who was gunned down when she threatens to expose a MMA trainer. She’s also appeared in “Ghost Whisperer: The Other Side”, the online companion series to CBS hit Ghost Whisperer which she received great reviews.
Watch out for her in the festival circuit too with her sci-fi short “The Last King Blood” being the official selection at numerous film fests. The story centers on a research team who lands on a planet and discovers something unforeseen. When you look into those fascinating green eyes of hers, she’ll spark interest with ease, such is the beguilement JAIMI can produce. It’s clear we can’t wait to admire her future projects…:)
Embodying some of the sexiest sirens on Film/TV with memorable names such as Ginger, Sunshine and Heaven Carrera, all signs point to the lusciousness of JACKIE DEBATIN. She’s played her fair share of enticing women on shows such as “Friends”, “That 70′s Show” “Two And A Half Men” and most memorably as Elizabeth The Stripper on “The Office”. Be it in a tight nurse outfit or a revealing camisole, she’s always a visual tease hence her other TV exploits as a Madam on “Veronica Mars” and a call girl on “Boston Legal”. Recently as Trish on “The Mentalist”, she wonderfully put on her Femme Fatale shoes and kept us guessing on her true intentions as all bad girls so often do. That raspy voice of hers is also quite the welcome distraction…:)
While her small screen endeavors through the years has got many talking, JACKIE has garnered affection from appearances in several comedies as well as independent features. This ever smiling talent would in a heartbeat be considered as sweet, spicy and everything in between. It’s about being enigmatic and JACKIE’s sparkling personality can indeed be infectious. Chances are she’s already captured your heart and will be doing so in the months ahead!
With Chinese New Year a few days away, let’s instill some Asian flavor by having ELAINE LOH enchant us right here. For those in the know, ELAINE is actually of Hispanic and Asian heritage, a very alluring combo indeed, those almond shaped eyes, kissable lips and the soft hair very much desirable facets. This up and comer has just scored a role in “The Mentalist” where she’s currently having a ball on set. She’s acknowledged the cast may be the nicest people she’s had the pleasure of working alongside and I have a feeling Simon Baker may have something to do with those friendly vibes. “Californication”, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Chuck” are some of the other shows where ELAINE has displayed her glowing lissomeness. There’s a collection of videos detailing her TV appearances at the ELAINE LOH OFFICIAL SITE. It’s been said she even gets into character when having a shower…what endearing dedication! Hmmm….or were some of you living in hope of seeing lady parts after finding this out since ELAINE is so attractive…;)
Her fight reel shows another dimension to her onscreen abilities and she sure served up some action moves in spy comedy “One Sharp Girl”. Additionally her vocal prowess as a theatre actress and her experience as a teacher/private coach for aspiring actors is indicative of ELAINE’s diverse competencies. This month has all the makings of an auspicious one and since ELAINE has caught our fancy lately, there’ll be a measure of devotion coming her way.
She may be the new kid on the block in the popular web series “Anyone But Me” but in Season 3, MARISSA SKELL is in the illustrious company of Digital Vixens such as Rachael Hip-Flores and Nicole Pacent. MARISSA is one yummy starlet with fans of the series be it on Hulu, Youtube and pretty much everywhere on the net acknowledging her hotness. The best part is we get to enjoy the sumptuous blonde anytime, anywhere 24/7 and that is essential especially since our lives can get a little busy. Tapping on the shift in social norms in the US as we as people are beginning to accept our gay bethren. After all aren’t we all children of the world…do we not bleed when we are cut? “Anyone But Me” has a huge following precisely because it’s a celebration of young love and that life is not about fitting into what society wants us to be. MARISSA portrays Carey, the new love interest of street smart Aster played beautifully by Nicole Pacent. Carey is the artistic soul that provides much needed comfort to Aster’s love troubles and becomes the yin to Aster’s yang. Obviously we’ll get our dose of girl-on-girl kissing scenes and the chemistry between MARISSA and Nicole are intimately spot on when they’re in the throes of passion. There’s no better time than show our affection for this comely sweetheart by visiting the MARISSA SKELL OFFICIAL SITE.
One of MARISSA’s grittiest performances came in the episode of “Criminal Minds” as a victim of torture by electrocution dished out by the insane son of notorious serial killer “The Butcher”. She had me gripped in such an unnerving way, I’m bound to praise her dramatic chops. Previously, she had impressively fleshed out a similar state of duress in another scene from “The Mentalist”. She’s come a long since her reality TV days on “Scream Queens”, developing into a coveted, multi-genre talent. She’s proven that hard work and honing your craft in the business does indeed pay off! Oh and don’t forget her pleasant personality that’s so infectious to a fan like me. I for one can’t wait to do an interview with MARISSA after this feature which she has so kindly indicated to me she will accede to.
Having informed me that she’s in “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon”, I get a tingle of excitement having Canadian TV/Movie actress KATHLEEN GATI on this blog. In a fun and crazy role as a Russian bar owner/bartender, it’s a given that Transformers fanboys will be looking out for her as they so often do, dissecting every piece of morsel related to the upcoming Summer Popcorn Blockbuster. Well-known in Eastern/Central Europe, audiences have been in awe of her many emotionally-charged onscreen displays for quite some time. She’s currently gracing the 33rd Moscow International Film Festival where her movie “Visszatérés” aka “Retrace” is making its premiere on June 26th. It’s a bittersweet story set in Romania during Ceausescu’s grim regime that has KATHLEEN’s character revisiting her homeland only to discover tragic events. In addition to being a multiple award winning actress, KATHLEEN is multi-lingual and has the magical European allure thanks to her Hungarian roots. Best remembered as the First Lady of Russia Anya Suvarov who has Jack Bauer as an ally on “24″, she’s also been impressing in a slew of hit shows including “The Mentalist”, “NCIS” and “Covert Affairs”. When she first started out in the biz, this was what she noted: “I played a few hookers in my day, because I was always a little ‘voluptuous’” referring to her small part in the cultish “Frankenhooker”. I came across her photo with Tim Roth whom she worked with on an episode of “Lie To Me” and she’s every bit an Über Striking beauty.
KATHLEEN is on the throbbing pulse of entertainment and with those sultry blue eyes of hers, everyone should be in awe of her. Head on over to the KATHLEEN GATI OFFCIAL SITE for a glance at the stellar career and life of this consummate thespian. While she’s often a Bodacious Blonde, KATHLEEN went jet black for the recent indie “The Future” that premiered at the LA Film Fest 2011. Check her out as Dr Straus, the vet dispensing sage advice to Miranda July (playing Sophie) about her adopted cat in the trailer (above). The Sundance fave “Little Birds” sees her part of the fantastic female powerhouse cast of Leslie Mann,Juno Temple and Kay Panabaker. She continues to be influential in a plethora of mediums including Broadway, along the way accumulating a body of work that’s as mesmerizing as she is…:)
SHANLEY CASWELL is the very fetching Star of groundbreaking “Detention” which transcends being just a smart teen horror film and stands on its own two feet as a genre-bending master class. If it created a huge buzz at SXSW this year as well as constantly receiving rave reviews on the internet, the intelligent slasher is expected to shine at the SIFF Film Festival 2011 as will it’s endearing female lead SHANLEY. I’m enraptured with her kindness for doing this interview at such short notice, a reflection of her appealing accessibility that’s truly charming. Already being praised as a female version of John Cusack and spoken highly of as the stirring centerpiece of “Detention”, admiration for her is rapidly growing.
In the throes of the psychedelic pace, pop culture references and riveting sci-fi cum slasher elements of “Detention”, SHANLEY is a standout as RILEY, the human touch amid the chaos. She captures the trepidation of youth, the foreboding of terror and the thrilling face offs with the movie’s villain impeccably. Even at 18, SHANLEY has shown she is adept at delivering a solidly authentic performance which could prove to be her launchpad as a Teen Idol.
Have a good read as SHANLEY lets us in on what’s it like being the female lead of a fascinating horror film, her grueling yet fun moments during the making of “Detention” and why she has the hots for Simon Baker after working with him on “The Mentalist”.
1. Hi Shanley. You’re possibly the Final Girl in “Detention”. What’s it like being the leading lady of the slasher and playing a character that’s an outsider going through teen angst?
A: At first signing on to do Detention was exhilarating. The script was so interesting and like nothing I had ever heard about that I had to do it. Riley is a character that is a lot like any normal teenage girl: pop culture oriented, embarrassed, tormented, self centered, and opinionated.
I’ve been through all of these things growing up, like most teenagers, so it was easy to relate to her “my life is ruined” mentality. Now on the note of being the leading lady; that scared the crap out of me. Especially with working with Dane Cook, Josh Hutcherson, and Joseph Kahn all people whom I highly admire.
2. Inevitable comparisons are going to be drawn between “Detention” and the “Scream” Franchise. Can you tell us how different is your heroine Riley as opposed to Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott?
A: Detention has a different feel than Scream. It’s more fun and relatable to people my age in my generation. Scream was the old generations meta comedy-horror, Detention will appeal to teenagers now-a-days. That goes for Riley’s character too.
3. There’s a scene in “Detention”, reminiscent of “The Breakfast Club” (the film that made a tremendous impact) albeit more in line with the reality of youth today. As a teenager yourself, what do you think are the movie/movies that define your generation?
A: “Superbad”, “The Hangover” and “The Social Network” are three that come to my mind. “Superbad” and “The Hangover” are ones that we see everywhere today with quotes and clothing. “The Social Network” is one that will never be forgotten because of the event that it’s about. Facebook and social networking have defined our generation.
4. You do a lot of running trying your utmost to escape from the serial killer. How physically demanding were those scenes and what were your favorite moments from the film?
A: I actually trained before we started filming for the stunt work and the dance scenes. I had to fall a lot so I was taught how to fall properly without getting hurt. The hanging scene was the hardest because I was in a harness for about 6 to 8 hours and hanging for about 4 to 5.
I had bruises from the straps and had motion sickness by wrap time. My favorite scene to film was probably the skateboarding scene. They set up this cool contraption where the skateboard was connected to the camera so we could actually skate and and do the scene. Those were fun.
5. Just read that your first major role was on Hallmark in “Mending Fences” as a gothic teen with a sarcastic side, a complete opposite to your bubbly disposition. Why do you think actresses much prefer essaying the darker roles?
A: I think there’s a lot more complexity to playing darker roles. I’ve definitely played my fair share of bubbly roles though. I would do it more often but unfortunately some people don’t think that I have a very “bubbly” face all the time. And I……I’m also very sarcastic which turns some people off.
6. There’s plenty of haters out there unlike me of course who shows the love for actresses on a daily basis…:):) How do you deal with the critics even at your tender age?
A: I’ve been very lucky so far to not have any critics. If I did I’m pretty good at taking things in thinking about them logically, then forgetting about them later.
7.From “Bones” and “The Mentalist to “The Middle”, you’ve been gracing quite a number of TV Shows. Who has been your favorite actor and why?
A: To work with? Simon Baker form The Mentalist. He is so cool and suave. He’s got a way of making everyone smile and feel special. Plus he’s got an Australian accent! How could I not be in love with him.
8. You once said the uncertainty of the acting industry gives you a thrill. What would be your dream role?
A: My dream role is always changing. At the moment I’d love to be some badass assassin or something. I’m really into stunt heavy movies right now. I feed off of adrenaline on set, the more adrenaline I have the more focused I am and the more work I get done.
9. In Tinseltown, teen actresses are regularly in demand more so this past year so what’s next for Shanley Caswell?
A: I have no idea what’s next. The thrill of this industry is why I love it. I’m not working on anything right now but next month I could be in France filming a miniseries. You have to learn to go with the flow. Right now I’m focusing on school and studying Kinesiology.
10. Tell us the one thing that nobody will ever guess about you.
A: I love rock climbing and bungee jumping.
Thanks again for the support and the awesome questions!
