Interview with Actress Stephanie Erb

 alt=  alt=

It’s breathtaking to see an actress who is so versatile and the very beautiful STEPHANIE ERB has enchanted in everything she’s done. Of course, most will remember her sizzling up “Two and A Half Men” in that memorable tease of a scene involving cleavage and Jon Cryer’s Alan Harper sheepishly uttering Barbara’s Mams…:) While countless are already fond of her thanks to her comedic appeal and effusive allure, many more will love that she takes on roles that has many layers. Check out the STEPHANIE ERB OFFICIAL SITE for more of her amazing work both on TV and film. Thanks to Stephanie, I’ve managed to score this interview with her which is an honor!

1. Tell us what was it like working on hit shows such as True Blood, The Mentalist” and “Bones”

Well, each show has a different style and mood on the set. TRUE BLOOD, as it often involves strange species of creatures, lots of blood, and some very silly crazy stuff, tended to be a fun environment overall. I think Alan Ball, the creator, has a lot to do with that. He is very aware that the show is pure entertainment and there seems to be very little room for diva behavior and everyone is treated very very well. For the wrap gift, the entire cast and crew got bicycles! He totally spoiled us! Great parties too….

THE MENTALIST was a great role and working with director Eric Laneuville was wonderful. I love playing the bad guy, especially because the bad behavior came out of left field. A nurse who kills her patients? And has a clear albeit crazy justification for doing so? Sociopaths are fascinating to play! Also, the tone of THE MENTALIST leaves a bit of room for humor, and I think humor is essential to make a drama work well.

BONES was a very sad and dramatic episode which was saved for airing on Veteran’s Day, as my character’s deceased husband was a very troubled vet in the script. Unfortunately, many on the set had the flu at that time (including ME), but in showbiz, you KEEP MARCHING and it was finished on schedule. The director Francois Velle was lovely and had to stage quite a large funeral scene at LA National Cemetery and it all went rather smoothly. All in all, I have been lucky that most of my TV experiences either offered lovely people, interesting roles, or both!

2. Can you give us a teaser on your upcoming projects and why did those roles appeal to you?

This summer, I am working on three films – - MISCHIEF NIGHT (dir. Richard Schenkman) , DO NOT DUPLICATE (dir. Aaron Mark) and THE LADY KILLERS (dir. Phil Leirness) — as well as a webseries called FLIP AND GLIB. The films are all different sorts of thrillers – ranging from the more bloody sort, to pyschological or comedic. All of them appealed to me because the directors and writers involved I consider quite talented and destined for greatness. Each character is very different too, which I love. One is an amiable aunt, one is a twisted producer lady, and the final one is a completely drugged-up victim sort. I always say my dream career would be something like that of Johnny Depp or Geoffrey Rush or Gary Oldman – playing all sorts of characters and perhaps some that aren’t really in my domain. FLIP AND GLIB is funny. I love comedy and I think the world needs it.. so I was happy to work with director Mark Taylor and go for quirky, often spontaneous and silly humor. Onstage I love comedy too. Nothing makes me happier than making my fellow humans laugh!

3. What’s the funniest incident that has happen on set and what has been your most memorable experience?

That is such a hard question to answer. Funny things happen all the time on sets. I would have to make a list. Watching Jack Black and Kyle Gass improv and goof around on the set of TENACIOUS D and THE PICK OF DESTINY was hilarious (and Amy Adams got a head full of goo by accident in one take, and of course, it made the cut). Messing with Tom Hanks’s pants zipper on NAKED TRUTH long ago on TV was pretty memorable because he was already a huge star and rarely did TV – the audience went bananas! (it can be seen on my website http://www.stephanieerb.com if you find the hidden “head” of Tom Hanks on my reels page). You have to remember also that people are on set for a LONG time and can get very punchy and EVERYTHING seems funny. Alexander Skarsgard from TRUE BLOOD spontaneously burped after sipping blood from an aorta he pulled out of someone’s chest on TRUE BLOOD and at the time it was HILARIOUS. Kind of gross, when you think about it too hard. :)

My most memorable experience has to be one of my first on-camera jobs. Shooting FEARLESS with Peter Weir and Jeff Bridges was a dream come true. Both of these men were caring, creative artists I had only dreamed of meeting before I was actually working with them (I had put them on a “wish list” when I first moved to LA). Every day was not only a huge learning experience for me, but set the quality bar very high as the work was meticulous and thoughtful and at times, due to the content, harrowing..(some of the shoot involved reenacting a plane crash, and ever since then, I am not able to fly without freaking out at the slightest turbulence). I would love very much to work with both of them again!

4. Who is the actor or actress you most want to work with and why?

Hmm…. I would have to make a list… some I want to work with because I think they are stunning AND funny and talented… Johnny Depp and Robert Downey Jr fit in that category… also icons like Meryl Streep, Maggie Smith and Judi Dench. So many UK actors I admire, but I also admire the way actors are treated and trained in the UK.

Those who have a flair with language, humor and have quirkiness at their disposal really appeal to me. I have worked extensively in theatre, and I tend to prefer actors who have some chops in that arena as well. There are also tons of directors I would love to work for, but that is another category!

5. What’s Stephanie Erb like away from the camera and what are your passions in life?

I am a mostly down-to-earth person. I love my friends and family and my work. I have just recently fallen in love with dogs and I don’t really know how I lived without having a pup by my side! I love doing live theatre when I can (although it is very time-consuming and very rarely lucrative, the latter being a pity), I love to travel when I can, and adore all sorts of cuisine. I am happiest when acting in some capacity though, as I have tried many other jobs in the past and seem to be only suited for this one! My father was a well-known classical composer and I think I get a lot of my drive to be creative from him. I try to do work for charities whenever asked and as I am able – and I love talking to fans – they are what keeps my industry going! I truly am concerned for the environment and wildlife on this planet (and I include humans in that wildlife category). I just recently got solar panels and wish they were provided to everyone! Compassion for each other and the planet are truly essential.

Thanks for the interview Haren! Lovely to meet you!

Ravishing Redhead: Jamie Rose

 alt=  alt=

One of the foxiest ladies in the industry, JAMIE ROSE remains a popular figure and her charms resonates with everyone who has seen her perform. Those in York, Pennsylvania would be making their way for screenings of the comedy “Route 30, Too!” which JAMIE stars alongside Beth Behrs from “2 Broke Girls”. She plays Dot, Alien Hunter in “Route 30, Too!” which has been called weirdly entertaining with an out of this world storyline. Gathering responsive buzz for its funny spin on local Pennsylvanian folklore such as the White Woman, extraterrestrials and even Bigfoot, this is an indie gem for all walks of life. Adding to the paranormal fun is Jamie who as DOT, one half of the husband and wife alien chasing team dazzles as she has done so throughout her illustrious career. Lauded for her work on prime-time hit series “Falcon Crest” as Vickie Gioberti, she’s been eye-catching with sustained distinction on TV.

Memorable on “Two And A Half Men” largely thanks to her perceptible hint of cleavage in the episode “Fish in a Drawer” (above), one cannot help but be entranced by her everlasting allurement and when it comes to comedy, she’s a natural. Kudos to Jamie for playing to her strengths i.e. her voluptuous beauty which is vastly appreciated by her followers. With her being more than capable at delivering the laughs, there’s an extra turn on. Her passion for dancing and writing also gives her a multi-dimensional appeal. Just came to the realization besides “Californication”, “Two And A Half Men” seems to have a fair share of compelling women who know how to elevate all of our senses. JAMIE definitely belongs in this category of screen hotties who delight us every which way…:)

TV Vixen: Bridget Flanery

 alt=

For the longest time, The Tube has been our gateway to the most strikingly beautiful women and Bridget Flanery is one to have the hots for thanks to her foxy features. Equally adept on stage (having been part of around 100 productions) or screen, it is on television that BRIDGET has distinguished herself, from her early years as the egotistic Lila of “Sweet Valley High” to consistently starring in a host of hit shows. Memorably, she guest-starred as one of two cuckolded women of leading man Jon Cryer in the pre-Ashion Kutcher “Two And A Half Men” and she did dazzle as a ravishing redhead in lingerie whilst having a bedside smooching with him. Well, she’s in fact a blonde ( which in my world is a huge plus!) yet hair color has no bearing on how saucy she’s always been and BRIDGET once even dyed her hair 3 different shades to get into character for a play, one of which was as a sexpot. I’m betting she can be just as sultry as newly minted crimson temptress Alexandra Breckenridge of “American Horror Story” fame whom by the way is naturally blonde. Only recently, she shared screen time with Rachel Bilson on the episode ‘The Pirate & The Practice’ from “Hart Of Dixie” playing Becky Hilson, mother to a boy with an unidentified ailment. Bridget may originally hail from the mid-western state of Iowa but she’s consummately captured the essence of the womenfolk at BlueBell, Alabama as well as anyone who’ve been on the drama series. She intimates the southern twang adorably throughout the episode she’s in, ensuring an ever growing trickle of devotion.

What about her eyes that are so immensely mesmerizing, the very pair she’s always regarded as her best assets? They do compellingly enhance the feminine air she projects and you can see her fine form in the near sell-out play “Onion Creek” happening every weekend. Day by day, BRIDGET is proving to the world that there’s another FLANERY (as opposed to Sean Patrick) making waves in the entertainment circle and personally speaking, Miss B has my utmost vote…:)

Ravishing Redhead: Anna Easteden

International audiences are falling head over heels in love with ANNA EASTEDEN whom industry insiders are endorsing as one Fascinating Uber-Babe. As the tenderhearted hooker Nina in her Best Supporting Actress Nominated role from “The House Of Branching Love”, she’s delectably hypnotizing in every frame. She also makes it conceivable that beautiful women can indeed be attracted to lesser desirable guys (not just a fantasy mind you) with her radiantly stellar performance. She’s definitely inculcate a desire in me to watch more Finnish productions…or is it a craving for more of luscious ANNA…hehe. It’s all about setting precedents on The Actress Obsession Blog and ANNA is the very first Finnish-American beauty to leave us spellbound right here. If you pine for flame-haired cuties such as Karen Gillan of “Dr Who” fame, there’ll be no hesitation to cast infatuating eyes on ANNA. It must be that sophisticated European femininity (ANNA is from Finland and Karen is Scottish of course) that men of the world can’t stop fixating about…well one glimpse at the skimpily-clad shots of her at the ANNA EASTEDEN OFFICIAL SITE and you’ll see why she rocks the resplendently sexy look…she does have those long slender gams!

As a fashion model, she spent a lot of time in Asia (she was even in my country Singapore..woot!!), along the way racking up a starring role opposite Rinko Kikuchi in the Japanese version of “Sideways”. ANNA has disclose to me that she’s been busy creating 9 short films for the FINNFest GALA of which one is the entertaining “A Taste of Suomi” (watch it above) whereby she tries her hand at comedy with fellow hottie Anya Monzikova (Femme Fatales). In addition, she’s in an exciting NBC Pilot “A Mann’s World” directed by Michael Patrick King (Sex and the City) with Don Johnson (Miami Vice) and Kelly Hu leading the cast. By the way, she also dazzled as a vamp on “Two and A Half Men” before Charlie Sheen’s unfortunate exodus! I rate the always affable ANNA as an accomplished actress and many people will discover that she’s a cultivated personality with a most cherished global appeal.

Hot TV Vixen Of Summer: Rebecca McFarland

 alt=  alt=

A Big Shout Out to REBECCA McFARLAND for giving me the heads up on her guest appearance on the cheeky new series “Franklin and Bash”. Legal Eagles Brecking Meyer (Franklin) and Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Bash) pile on the tomfoolery with women exposing their boobs in court and lawyers kissing clients on the stand being their brazen route to upholding justice…hehe. In “Jennifer of Troy” REBECCA portrays a magazine publisher whose assistant claims she was fired for being too hot….There lies the twist as the assistant is incredibly a Plain Jane!! In fact, I’m more inclined to praise REBECCA’s sultriness in this episode…;) Known for instilling a uniqueness in all of her roles, she’s of course famed for being Bartender Leanne on “Two and A Half Men”. Charlie Sheen wouldn’t be the only one hitting on her on that show or off it that’s for sure…:) The natural allure that she projects will steer adoring eyes towards her in no time. With Rebecca and her fellow hotties making such a notable impact this June all the way till September, this could end up being right up there as Best Summer for actress watching..:)

This bewitching blonde has stolen our hearts on more than one occasion with impressive turns in “Human Target” and “Saving Grace”. Enjoyed seeing her as a Cheerleading Coach admonishing pretty Minka Kelly on my fav show “Friday Night Lights…WOW! She’s a whiz with all the different accents especially them Texan and Southern ones. Oh my, she does belong to the elegant group of women hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana. If you are enthused with her, I suggest a visit to the REBECCA MCFARLAND OFFICIAL SITE. There’s a Über-cool ethereal attractiveness about REBECCA complimented wonderfully by her ravishing blue eyes and does her hair always look immaculately coiffed or what…:) She has a genuine ability to habit engaging characters with the zestiest of charms.
