French Vixen: Clémentine Poidatz

With Cannes in full swing, what better than to feature Clémentine Poidatz, the Fair-Skinned maiden who would fit right in the glitzy french riveira. Does it matter that she’s not there as we still can ogle at Clémentine all the same. After all she is heating up television with riveting appearance in shows “Nicolas Le Floch” and recently on “Les hommes de l’ombre” (translation: The people behind the scenes). French audiences must be already warming up to her for she can be seen cutting herself with a razor blade in a suicide attempt from one episode…how dramatic! Furthermore, she’s a scene stealer in the music video “Walking On A Line” by French power pop band Pony Pony Run Run. As you will see there’s a central theme to her work.

She has played Marie Joséphine of Savoy in the 2006 film “Marie Antoinette” directed by Sofia Coppola and her breakthrough role came in “Frontier Of Dawn”, a tale of longing and obsession. She was magical as Eve, the third wheel who complicates the callous affair of a young photographer and his lover. For someone whose cites one of her favorite things as being in love, Clémentine perfectly captured the essence of her character. She has gravitated to playing characters whose lives revolves around romantic situations. Indeed love does transcend borders or even languages and with her being so down to earth (she thinks America has so many good actresses that they wouldn’t need her), there might come a fondness for her soon enough!
