Rising Starlet: Lauren Robertson

Television is becoming the enviable medium to spot upcoming talents with the graceful Lauren Robertson set to be an endearing face. The incredible interest of scripted TV has led to the emanation of lovely young women who have the comedic touch. This week, Lauren is one to keep an eye on as she’s guest-starring on the episode Fight Or Flight from “Modern Family” as Jillian, a masseur who gets on the good side of Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) on what was looking like a miserable flight for him. He ends up having the time of his life sandwiched between the comforts of a back rub by those ‘Magic’ hands of Jillian and Penn Jillette (of Penn and Teller fame) who wows him with some insane magic tricks. Much to the chagrin of his wife Claire (Julie Bowen) who is very much on the spectrum of irritability having endured the whims of a horrendous passenger next to her even though she’s in first class.

Amazingly, this is the second time she’s part of a sketch in the clouds having recently appeared on an interactive one entitled “Airplane Romance” on youtube. Some girls are charming enough to hit on (even on a plane!) and let’s just say that the genial Lauren is crush-worthy (those rosy lips!). Another of her projects called “Aspirational” is a humorous short which sees Lauren playing a supposed fangirl of Kirsten Dunst who is actually much more interested in her own popularity via Instagram selfies rather than Kirsten the actress. An official selection at SXSW 2015, this is a caricature of the Hollywood machine that treats its stars like instruments of fame, devoid of feelings whatsoever. She’s already showing the potential to go far in the comedy genre and we can’t wait to glimpse a whole lot more!
