The Multi-talented and very divine Niki Koss is one destined to garner a growing fandom seeing how she’s a sweetheart to be longingly gazed. She’s steadily making waves both in front and behind the camera with such engaging appeal. At the much raved 2015 Edition of the Hollyshorts Film Festival, catch her in “A Teenage Drama”, a comedy about teenage depression when suicide start swirling in one’s head. This is indeed going to be a celebration of short films and what better than to feature an upcoming enchanter such as the ebullient Niki. She’s a genuine honey in “A Teenage Drama” so remember to check Niki out as the undeniably likeable Jenny (see here). This exquisite director/actress also has intriguing projects in the pipeline which only serves to pique our interest even more.
Thanks to the ever gracious Niki, here’s the interview with her about the zom-com which will likely get her attention in droves:
1. Can you tell us more about your role in the film “Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse”” and what drew you to the role?
Chloe (my character in Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse) is the popular girl in school. She is obsessed with boys, her phone and her social status. She’s definitely a little bit of a trouble maker.
2. What was is like working on the set and describe your most enjoyable moment?
I loved being on set for this movie, it was one of the more fun sets I’ve ever been on. I don’t know if I can pick the most enjoyable moment as it was all such a blast. I really liked the people I worked with on this movie in particular. One of my favorite moments was every day at lunch looking around and seeing all these zombies casually in line to get food, that was definitely a a little bit strange.
3. Zombie Features Are All The Rage! Why do you think it has garnered such fascination.
I’m not sure why zombie features are so huge these days. There is definitely a large audience for it who are committed to the genre, which is awesome. I really think zombie fans are just going to go crazy for this movie, it’s pretty amazing I have to admit.
4. It’s awesome to watch so many female talents fronting the horror genre. Which upcoming horror features (yup remakes galore included) are you most looking forward to watching?
I’ve actually never really been a huge horror fan until I actually started acting in some horror movies. I never really got the whole concept of it being fake until I was actually on set and got to see it first hand which makes it a lot easier to watch horror movies for me now.
5. On that note, who is the actor or actress you most want to work with whether it be in the horror genre or otherwise and why?
One actor who I’ve always dreamt about working with Leonardo DiCaprio. He’s my favorite actor of all time and it would probably be the most surreal experience of all time if I ever had the chance to act with him.
6. How has social media impacted on you as an actress and what’s the nicest thing a fan has ever said to you?
Social media has changed what it means to be an actor or actress these days. It takes it from being a job that you can go to and then go home and have your privacy, to a job that takes away all your privacy. It’s been weird trying to navigate the idea that nothing I do is really private anymore, but it’s definitely all worth it when people reach out just to say kind things to me or reassure me. I’ve had people say some really sweet things to me, but one that I’ll never forget is one time a young girl messaged me and told me that she had watched some interview that I did and it inspired her to try and start acting, which was so crazy. To think that I could have the power to inspire people to that degree is insane.
7. Tell us a little about your life away from the camera?
Honestly, these days I don’t have too much of a life away from the camera! I just love this business so much that no matter what I’m doing I’m always trying to find a way to go back to film. I love to write, direct, produce etc. so when I’m not acting I’m usually keeping myself busy with one of those tasks. Other than that I just really like being with my friends and family whether that means going out to a fun dinner or staying in and having a netflix marathon.
8. Lastly, give us a tease of your upcoming projects and how can we keep up with the latest news about you.
I’m starring in a Lifetime TV movie called “My Stepdaughter” which I believe comes out August 1st. I have a couple of short films that I starred in that are currently working their way through the film festival circuit. Also, I just finished a TV pilot called “The Monroes” which is supposed to be getting picked up this September. I’ll also spend August filming my next movie called, “Trafficked”, about human trafficking.
Niki can be regarded as one of the bright prospects of the film world and with her cordial personality there’s more than enough to suggest she’ll reach covetable status.
