Rising Starlet: Jamie Bernadette

The glowing Jamie Bernadette is an actress we would be putting on a pedestal of adoration for years to come. She stars in “All Girls Weekend”, the must-see slasher about an ill-fated reunion between friends in the woods, appearing alongside Katie Carpenter and Gema Celaro, beauties who have indeed graced this blog. “All Girls Weekend” is certainly nothing like the sisterhood of the traveling pants and descends into dark territory pretty quickly when girl bonding goes sideways. Here’s the gracious Jamie giving us a tease of her leading lady Nancy in “All Girls Weekend”:

Five high school friends get together for a little reunion party some years after graduating and decide to go on a hike in the woods only to get lost and get into all kinds of trouble. My character is Nancy and my social attitude is one of cynicism. There is more to me than I let on however, and through my actions, the audience will discover who I really am as the film goes on.

Acknowledging Jamie’s impressive performances in the realm of psychological horror, she’ll be an intriguing fascination throughout “All Girls Weekend”. She does indeed have the deftness of control to project the requisite air of mystique.

Being a busy actress with a slate of releases this year, Jamie is all set to tantalise us with her radiant magnetism. Jamie has also so kindly let us in on some of her upcoming projects which serves to her innate onscreen versatility:

I lead “I Spit on Your Grave: Déjà Vu”, the sequel to the 1978 horror/thriller cult classic “I Spit on Your Grave”. The original writer/director Meir Zarchi returns to write and direct and the original lead actress Camille Keaton returns and plays my mother in the film. The movie is currently in editing right now and has a tentative release date of possibly later this year.

Also tentatively coming out later this year is “The 6th Friend”, a paranormal slasher film I star in, co-wrote with director Letia Clouston, and produced with Chantelle Albers, who also acts in the film. Also acting in the film are Dominique Swain (Lolita), Jessica Morris (One Life to Live), and Tania Nolan (Step Dave). I am so excited to bring everyone this film!

“State of Desolation” is a post-apocalyptic zombie drama/horror film that I star in with Craig Stark (Hateful 8, D’jango Unchained). I produced the film with the director Jim Towns (House of Bad). Also in the film are Dominique Swain (Alpha Dog, Lolita), Sadie Katz (Wrong Turn 6), Jessica Morris (One Life to Live) and Maria Olsen (I Spit on Your Grave: Déjà Vu). It’s a beautiful film actually although we are dealing with some pretty gruesome elements. It is tragic and sad and I can’t wait to show it to you guys! We are wrapping up post production.

I also do comedies and love doing them as much as I love doing horror. I have a couple of comedies coming out also. I just reunited with director Ash Avildsen (What Now) on “American Satan”, a dark comedy executive produced by John G. Avildsen, the writer/director of the Rocky and Karate Kid movies. The film stars Denise Richards (Starship Troopers), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), John Bradley (Game of Thrones), Mark Boone Junior (Sons of Anarchy) and many more. I wrapped in April and the film is now in post production.

Also on the way in the comedy genre is “Smothered by Mothers”. I play a sassy assistant to a football star, played by Shannon Brown. Also in the film are Heather Matarazzo (Welcome to the Dollhouse), Jim O’Heir (Parks and Recreation) and Burt Young (Rocky). On the way in the horror/thriller genre are the films that I lead “Elder Island”, “Killing Joan” and “13 Days”.

Being a huge fan of the “I Spit On Your Grave” films, I can’t wait to watch Jamie as the daughter of icon Camille Keaton’s Jennifer Hills in “I Spit on Your Grave: Déjà Vu”. Her emergence as a comedic talent will undeniably expand our passion for Jamie and drum up the affection for the screen darling that she has become.
