HollyShorts Film Festival 2016 Spotlight: Sizzling Cutie Elena Hurst

We can’t get enough of women making waves at the HollyFest Film Fest 2016 and the engaging Elena Hurst is primed to intrigue viewers. She stars in “The End Of Mara” as the titular Mara who undergoes the highs and lows of life. After the pain of her husband’s death, she unexpectedly finds her husband has miraculously return from the dead. Such is the turmoil of Mara, from heartbreak to re-connecting with the love of her life albeit within the confines of Manhattan Island. Can she free her husband of the curse that resurrected him? Written and directed by the exceptional Kim Garland, “The End Of Mara” is a multi-layered supernatural thriller with a great investment in the lead characters. Elena is so commendable as Mara, this woman who at her back of her mind knows her reunion with her husband is likely to be short-lived. Immersing herself into such a complex range of emotions, Elena’s performance couple with Kim’s heart-stirring writing ensures this short film will be well received during its screening at HollyShorts. Directed by a female film supremo and fronted by enigmatic leading ladies, “The End Of Mara” surely ranks as a must-see.

Television has been one platform which has seen Elena impressed; she’s guest-starred on popular shows such as “Gossip Girl”, “Law and Order”, “Blue Bloods” and “The Blacklist”. With her mixed ethnicity, Elena is able to transform herself into the distinctive subtlety of a cross-section of women onscreen. With a big upcoming role alongisde Christina Hendricks, Michael Shannon and Judy Greer in the comedy “Pottersville”, the beguiling Elena is deserving of being viewed with adulation.
