Sizzling Cutie: Cindy Chu

Championing Asian Actresses is essential and shimmering beauty Cindy Chu is truly deserving of our passion. In this week’s episode of “New Girl”, catch Cindy in a film within a TV show, well actually a 1971 porn film titled ‘Daddy’s Long Leg to be exact. Apparently the location is so alike to the house Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece Parekh (Hannah Simone) bought. In addition to her big network television debut, she also stars in “Needlestick”, a horror film that’s having a great run on the festival circuit. This terror-filled thriller is about a cardiac surgeon who discovers a cure for aging but his miracle treatment is actually lethal to his test patients. Cindy plays Amy, a nurse at the hospital where Alexander Crick (Lance Henriksen), the brilliant but unstable surgeon works.

Cindy has worked alongside some of the biggest entertainers including Drew Barrymore, Liam and Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and many more. She did appear with indie darling Chloe Sevigny in “Those Who Kill” and as Chloe is one of my favourite actresses, would have love to pick Cindy’s brain about her own experience acting with the renowned Chloe. On the web, she recently appeared in the comedy series “Under The Table” and garnered praised for shining in her dysfunctional, batty role as Riley. She and her two room-mates hatched a plan to ring in the cash after 1 of them has her credit card scam exposed. It showcases women who might not fit certain ideals yet have their own appeal which can be amusing at times. Seeing how she has a Taiwanese heritage and is bilingual in English as well as Mandarin, the hit show “Fresh Off The Boat” would be ideal for Cindy to flaunt her comedic chops. Dreams do happen and we might yet get to see Cindy’s name written in the stars.

  1. Cindy is one of those actresses who we are lucky to discover early. Give her a year and everybody will be in line to cast her in their movie or show.
