For the first time I’m putting the women of SXSW who encompass film, music and gaming on the pedestal of adoration with the enticing Emily Althaus heading this year’s bevy of beauties. She stars alongside Alex Pettyfer in the thriller “The Strange Ones” which is the big screen treatment of the award-winning short film of the same name by director/writer Christopher Radcliff and Lauren Wolkstein. Emily memorably hypnotized the global audience when she graced the SAG Awards in a black dress with a plunging neckline which accentuated her desirable curves. It does look like she’s heading to lofty heights as a Sex Symbol!
That distinction would also in part be due to her prodigious depiction of Maureen Kukudio, the main squeeze of Crazy Eyes on “Orange Is The New Black”. Immersing herself into a character who suffers from mental illness, her innate qualities as a phenomenal actress is palpable. I’m sure many are hugely excited for Emily’s return to OITNB for Season 5 sometime in June on Netflix. She was also on “Togetherness” in the recurring role of Natalie, an UBER passenger who has a connection with Mark Duplass’s heartbroken leading man Brett.
Emily is a coveted face on television and it’s only a matter of time before she’s the darling of the big screen too! Her work as an activist off screen is doubly admirable too. The adorable allure of Emily Althaus is set to make this year’s SXSW a truly memorable one.
