TV is the hottest commodity on the planet and the trend has to do with the rise of dynamic talents such as the refined Many June Turpin. She has a recurring role as Detective April Sommerdale on BET series “Rebel” by renowned film-maker John Singleton. While we’ve only scratched the surface of her persona as the show is only in its 2nd episode this week, we can fathom she’ll have a significant impact on the storyline. “Rebel” is the series that delves into the life of Oakland cop Rebecca “Rebel” Knight (Danielle Moné Truitt) whose world is shattered after her brother’s death at the hands of police. Of course, she’s trapped between the devil and the deep blue sea as her loyalty to the uniform is tested against her desire for justice. The drama is just beginning so let’s see if Mandy’s April will be on the side of Rebel in her quest to ascertain the reasons why her brother was killed.

Her presence on the small screen has been a delight having appeared on countless shows including “Henry Danger”, “The Fosters”, “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders” and “Nashville”. Mandy played the ultra-conservative news anchor Cynthia Davis with gumption on “Nashville” and most certainly rubbed some people the wrong way with her firebrand values. As we’ve seen it’s just much more intriguing when you’re playing bad. Mandy also recently appeared in the Lifetime Movie “Double Mommy” which starred Morgan Obenreder (who is loved on this blog) as Candice whose son is discovered to be the father of a pair of twins and eventually found to be the man who raped Morgan’s character Jess.

With Mandy making her luminous presence felt across film, television and the web, there’s boundless reasons to keep watching her and be rousingly entertained.
