Sherry Romito is the enchanter with a dreamy smile and she’s crafting her way with intimate reflections on screen. Mentored by Seth MacFarlane of “Family Guy”, she’s produced the film “Under The Hollywood Sign” which is very close to her heart. With the trailer being featured prominently on IMDB, it’s indicative that this piece on the realities of life as struggling actors is very much valued. Sherry sinks her teeth into her multi-layered character Kate who doubles as a party clown having seen her chances as an actress dwindle. Seeking a more grounded life, her desire for commitment comes into conflict with her more care-free boyfriend Charlie.
Here’s her take on the entertaining “Under The Hollywood Sign”:
‘My husband and I produced the film together and we star opposite of each other in it. He co-wrote it with a friend and also directed it. My character’s name is Kate and she is at a point in her life where she’s ready to get married and start having babies, but her boyfriend isn’t willing to give up on his (their) dream(s) of being an actor. It’s a semi-autobiographical account of me and my husband’s relationship and lives over the past few years acting in Los Angeles. We’ve been to a few great film festivals including Gasparilla International Film Festival and Idyllwild Film Festival.’
Ahead for Sherry is a psychological thriller called “Devil’s Tree” which is in preproduction. Together with her hubby she’s also writing a webseries we will be shooting soon, as well as pitching a reality show called “Sacred Places”.
